Excellent experience with Family Auto. Nice to see honest and fair business still exists. They were very helpful with my car that was totaled in a wreck and needed to be towed away from the scene. Highly recommend them for Auto repair As I was able to see a very busy shop which is always a good indication that the job is being done correctly.

Taking back my 5 star rating and if I could, I'd make it a ZERO! In the beginning they were nice and fixed a few things but after that it was a nightmare. The ONLY reason I bought this car (for $2000) was they told me they put in a rebuilt transmission and clutch. In less than 2 months the transmission went, stranded on the LIE. I called them after I called a tow truck and they said "We'll see what we can do" This was Nov.10th.I called them a week plus later and said they didn't get to look at it because it was Thanksgiving. So I gave them another week and now it was the transmission guy was on vacation. I gave them 2 more weeks and called them & was told they were waiting for a part. Then it was Christmas and didn't hear from them. Then it was new years and didn't hear from them. Then on January 5th my son called and they told him it would cost $2000 to fix it. Again, the only reason I bought the car from a "reputable dealer" was because it had the transmission rebuilt and was told "we're a family business, we'll take care of you" Well guess what, they didn't. They also lied and said they rebuilt the transmission and in fact a shop down the street did AND it took over 2 months to tell me this all the time not having a car and paying insurance on a car I couldn't use. So after all that I had to junk the car and lost $2000 plus. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM OR USE THEM AS MECHANIC!!!! You'll never know what you'll get. Nothing but ripoff artists.

Good service, took care of my commercial truck right away with broken headlights. Something that was really urgent, they took care right away. I only needed to call them. Much respect for Paul.

Frank and Family are awesome! We are a big family with a lot of cars and trucks, anytime I have an issue they get me right in, never a worry or a concern. All work gets done in a timely fashion and the price is always right! You are truly taken care of like family by family, Frank , his son and his wife Deb in the office are all great people who do great work. Thank you for taking care of us all these years.

Frank always goes the extra mile to explain any mechanical issues and does his best to get the job done right and on time. He gave me a loner while some unexpected work needed to be done before the inspection. I trust Family Auto. They are top notch, caring, considerate and perform excellent work. Thanks!

Fuel filter change on my 3500 Duramax.This was my second problem of the day. My first was a broken brake line. Another company took care of that one. Then I began having what I thought was bad fuel from Clinton truck stop. So I had to get my fuel filter changed. I begged the guy that answered the phone to please please please help me. "Have mercy on me"!!!I broke down the night before at 1am. I didn't make it across the GW to NY. I spent the night on the side of the road. And began at 8am calling for help.So it had already been a tough morning.The guy asked his Boss. His Boss said yes. They ordered me a fuel filter and it was there when I arrived. It was a WIX but my begging couldn't be choosy at this time.The guys were awesome. They were detailed and paid attention to their work and any possible defect that might contribute to my mechanical issues.They did find a possible problem coming from my starter.If I ever need aechanic in the area. I will absolutely remember them.As you should be able to tell. I am out of town and needed to get on the road as quickly as I possibly could. The guys were awesome!! Thank you 1000 times.

Frank at Family Auto has ALWAYS taken excellent care of me and my family. He goes above and beyond for his customers. When I got in an accident but still needed to get to work he lent me a car so I wouldn t lose money while he fixed my car. We ve been using Family Auto for years and I have 0 complaints. They really do make you feel like family. Excellent mechanic, highly recommend.

Had the pleasure of meeting Frank and his team. Nice people, they were willing to answer all of my questions and explain why. They didn't push any extra services on me but instead offered options and advice. Quality friendly service right in your neighborhood, would recommend to a friend.

I have been going to Frank at family auto for 2 years now and I can confidently say I will be going to them for as long as I own a vehicle. Frank runs the most honest and fair shop I ve ever been to. I drive all the way from Rockville Centre to get my truck serviced here because this is the only shop I trust. Thanks Frank!

It is so hard to find an honest mechanic that backs his work. Look no further. I have all of my cars serviced here. He never does work that s not needed just to pad the bill. You can be sure your car is always in good working order. Fast friendly and reliable service. Give them a try you won t be sorry.

Old school car repair shop with a super friendly staff. Don t get turned off by the building that looks like it could fall down at any minute. The mechanics are knowledgeable. They work quickly and prices are a little expensive but still reasonable.

Frank runs a great shop! As noted in other reviews, he always provides options, never tries to upsell, nor sell extras that are not needed. Clearly explains problems and solutions, with a very fair price, and quality work.

DO NOT go here. After having a horrible experience dealing with Groupon on a different oil change purchase I decided to purchase a Groupon for Family Auto on New York Avenue. Before purchasing the Groupon I called the shop to make sure they had availability right away. I asked if I could come in for an oil change at the time and they said yes. When I arrived at the shop and said I have the Groupon they said I had to make an appointment. I told them I called ahead and he said it didn't matter. After explaining how ridiculous it was that they would take me if I didn't have a Groupon they said they could do it. Then he walked into the shop and yelled to the other employees "take that girl next before she has a heart attack!". Then when he finished up he said "just get her out of here she's not a happy camper". If I wasn't so desperate to have my oil changed I would have left. Very unprofessional and rude. With all that said the mechanic that did work on my car with long hair was very nice and friendly.

Buyer beware!!! I can not say anything about thier ability to honestly diagnose and repair cars and trucks since my experience with them came from buying a car. My experience sounds a lot like Mike Conklin' s with the owner giving just about the same excuse and justification for not resolving the issues. Only problem is that mine went over a period of 2 exhausting years with him selling me a car he didn't have title on and after 2 years selling me in exchange a non working vehichle. I thought at first it was just me, but when I read Mike Conklin's story I now see that these guys aren't as friendly and honest as I hoped. I lost $6000 on the car I bought from them and had to purchase another car which I financed to replace the lemon they switched me into and a way to get to work. Just go in with your eyes open is the best and most objective opinion I can give anyone when buying a car, especially a used car. Family Auto Repair moved from 128 Main Street in Huntington, N.Y. to 1605 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, New York 11746.

If your vehicle fails the initial or the renewal inspection, inspectors will give you a report detailing the issues that caused it to fail. You must re-inspect the vehicle within 20 calendar days of the failure notice. You are eligible for two free re-inspections during the 20-day period after failing an inspection.So don`t pay extra money for re-inspection or buy the over-priced parts from them.

I ve been using family auto for a few years now and my brother is the one who told me about them we will never go to another place again frank and everyone there is always super friendly the prices are amazing and the work he does is beyond great I am always so grateful to frank after he works on my car because I know once he s done it s always right and super safe for all my children to be in thank u family auto for always doing amazing work and being so friendly

Great welcoming environment, not often do you see an owner get his hands dirty but Frank the owner gets right in there and make sure the jobs are done. Would recommend this shop to anyone!!!
