I went for car inspection. I was informed that the brake rotors, pads, and brake fluids all needed to be replaced. The estimated cost was around $1000. I've replaced all rotors, front pads, and front calipers a few months ago so I knew they were in good condition. The owner then said replacement of rear pads needed to be done to pass inspection, costing around $300. I was told the thickness of rears was only 2mm but he refused providing the details on paper. I declined the service of cause, and got home with a failed inspection and $21 down in the drain.I quickly replaced the rear pads at home. One of the rear pads did wear faster than other pads but not even close to 2mm. Other pads looked in great condition. It costed me $30 on parts and 20 minutes.I definitely won't come back for anything.

WHAT A JOKE !!!Completely disappointed in the online appointment and customer service!I made an appointment online for two tires and a front end alignment. The appointment was verified by email and by text. I drove an hour to the appointment facility, to be told that the tires were not in stock . Nor, did they have anything in the size for my vehicle (245/75/17). I was told they would need to be ordered and it would be three days before they could honor my appointment.What a total waste of 2 hours of my time!(1hr to the facility, and 1hr return) Before sending the appointment confirmation they could have a least verified availability, and contact me that services would be unavailable!As stated above WHAT A JOKE!!

Their very professional I did a walk in and had an appointment date set up within minutes when I arrived for appointment they had my car in right on time I would recommend Munro to others thank you !!!

Huge thank you to the young man at the front counter! We were visiting the Finger Lakes and heading back home to Ohio when I ran over a shattered deer antler. I called Monro Auto a few times with questions about my flat Subaru tire. Long story short- he worked me in, fixed my flat tire, got it back on my car and we were able to make it back home! I wished I had his name- didn t get it - but I am so thankful for his professionalism, being understanding when I was overwhelmed & getting my tire repaired so we could get back on the road!! 5 stars to this guy!! Thank you!

Absolutely amazing customer experience, they went above and beyond for all my needs. I was stranded with a shredded tire, and they just made me feel like family! If you're traveling and need an emergency repair they will get you back on the road with amazing urgency! Go here, go here, go here!

Lying thieves who break the law and should not be able to do state inspections. They l saying won't pass inspection unless I bought two new tires! K&K would have because the tires were not bald! Cuss at customers, refuse to do refunds not only for services not DONE but services you said NO to. Then lie about giving a refund form sending to main office. Yet when you call because it's been 5 days, a week, 9 days and then 2 weeks THEY HAVE NO REQUEST for your Invoice! Charged almost $600 for two tires & state inspection.. I'm glad my Grandpa and my Dad were at least honest mechanics because this place is a joke!

Needed a NYS inspection, went to a few places first but all wanted appoints for days or weeks out, the guys at Munro were able to take care of me within an hour.

Horrible. Brought my car in for an alignment and now the steering wheel is crooked, but thats not the worst part. When i arrived the shop had a terrible smell....like tires and dead rotting animal. After getting my car back the inside smells absolutely horrible. 4 days later and it's still unbearable. Not only do i have to pay another GOOD shop to fix the alignment, but I'm spending time and money to have my car detailed. Avoid at all costs.

If I could leave no stars I would. My husband went to get an inspection done and it failed which is whatever but they wanted to charge us for the failed inspection. My husband said he shouldn't have to pay for a failed inspection and then pay again the next time it gets a good inspection. The employee got loud with him and he got loud back and then the employee went and grabbed a pipe and physically threatened my husband with it and threw rocks and my husband's vehicle as he was pulling away. I will never recommend Monroe muffler to anyone and I will caution everyone I know to not go there.

Truthfully, I have never had a problem when I take ANY of my vehicles there. They usually have an opening for whenever I needed it, or are willing to figure something out for me.Usually im only there for an oil change. It's done quick fast and professional

*This was a few months ago.* Worst car experience of our lives. We had an appointment for just an oil change. They told us to come back in an hour. We came back after an hour for the oil change. Then after we returned they told us that they wouldn t have time until two days later. Employees were rude and we ended up going to Mavis s who scheduled an appointment for us and changed the oil in 10 minutes. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

We have been customers of Monro for 14 years. We've always been happy with their service and have always felt that we were treated with respect and honest service. Today they lost us. We will NEVER go back. Customer service was TERRIBLE. The guy that "took care" of us was rude, not only to us, but to several other people that came in while we were there. The wait was ridiculous for every customer in that place today. We were charged double for the part and to top it off, my arthritic husband was sent home in a FREEZING cold truck that was NOT fixed, and had to drive for 40 minutes like that! Apparently they were more concerned about getting out of work at exactly 7:00 than they were about making sure the job they were paid $110 an hour JUST FOR LABOR for was done properly! The one star is for the past years of excellent service we received there.UPDATEAfter speaking to the regional manager several times and getting an estimate from another garage, we were given a refund for the entire difference. They made it right, which is rare these days. Thanks, Eric!

I told the mechanic before my car was inspected, that I knew they would fail my windshield wipers. They did. Nothing was wrong with them. They actually work better then the ones i had to buy. They will get your money if you go there. The manager has too many kids not to get your money.

I had to have my brake pads and rotors changed last minute after work, the staff were very accommodating. They said the car would probably have to be left overnight, but I didnt have a way to get home, so they did their best and finished within the hour. I really appreciate that kind of service, they are real life savers. Car runs great now, highly recommended!

Not only were the guys in the shop very nice but they helped make sure I got the issues fixed in my SUV without any problems. They answered all my questions and helped every step of the way. It's refreshing to find a place that still cares about their customers and makes sure they are heard.

Tom & Rick are great!!Within this last month, we have visited Monro twice.I purchased 4 brand new all weather Goodyear tires, and an alignment first. Price was a good deal...called 2 other places and it was $118 cheaper here at Monro, for the exact same tires with mount & alignment service compared to the first place I called. The second place wanted $78 more than Monro!My second visit this month was today.Today's visit was unexpected!!I needed help with my brakes suddenly acting funny.I was in & out quickly today for new front brakes , rotors and pads. Thanks for squeezing me in your schedule guys Thank you Tom & Rick!!You guys rock

Went in for a muffler and oil change. They said that it pulled when they drove it in, I didn't notice it. Did muffler and oil change, then told me I needed front tires and alignment. Ok, two new tires, then went on to alignment and said they could not do it because sub frame had rust hole. Was told they would look for a part and call me, they never did. What bothered me most is three guys were under car at different times and never said a word about subframe until all purchases were made. They changed tires out and still not a word. Then no follow up about part needed. Had it repaired somewhere else, New shop said no way it should have been missed. I would not have bought 700.00 worth of repairs from Monro had they done their so called inspection. Terrible upsale. I suggest you go elsewhere. Contacted Home office, no follow up there either. Terrible

Only leaving one star because not leaving any stars isn't an option. Against my better judgment, I let these people talk me into replacing my muffler while I was visiting from out of town and getting an oil change. After spending a small fortune (the bill was well over a hundred dollars more than the estimate I was given), the noises my car makes are even less reassuring than they were before, and it's already obvious they didn't do the job right. To the point that I'm scared to use the car anymore. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

The store manager Dave was really helpful in helping me figure out the issue with my check engine light not only that he and his staff went above and beyond with getting me to pass my inspection. For a struggling college student i would definitely recommend any and everyone to visit this shop for whatever problem they might be experiencing. The welcome you will receive will show that you re in good hands!

This is the most affordable shop I called in regards to an oil change and tire rotation. Roughly $70 for full synthetic. My rear window has a wiper with fluid and I thought the reservoir was empty, come to find out it was broken. The staff took the time to diagnose my vehicle at no charge, even though they couldn't fix it. The manager was extremely helpful and we even had a great conversation about the economy in the area. We will definitely be returning here for future maintenance as the last 3 oil changes didn't notice the broken fluid line. My only complaint is the staff had on terrible body spray that made my car smell like a boy's locker room (better than cigarettes though)!

I placed a call at 3pm today to see if they could get us in for an alignment and the manager Dave was wonderful. He made it happen for us. Less than an hour later we were back on the road. Dave is really friendly, happy and is willing to walk you through any process in English. Lol not all of us understand mechanic. We were very happy and satisfied.

They fixed some issue with my car and two weeks later the car had the same issue. I went back and told them that the part they fixed didn t fixed the issue. They check the car again and told me that the part they fixed is still good; therefore, is not their responsibility no more. So overall they fixed something that didn t fixed the issue and sadly I still have the same issue after I paid almost more than 400 dollars. So here it s my review and my experience.

Great spot to have educated men help you out. I have an old pickup, refused to let anyone but myself or my father to work on it (let alone drive it). Honest, fair, and worth stopping by. They treat my ride with respect and I can trust them enough to leave it there overnight. I feel bad for the negative reviews, anyone who experienced something negative must not know their vehicles or don't understand the loyal, lasting work they do to our vehicles. You are making a bad mistake to go to anyone else but here in Hornell.

Helpful and quickly addressed the problem. Broken wiper trans. Great service.The odor is strong there unfortunately if you have to wait. Leaves car and clothes smelling.

This place is a scam. I went to pass the inspection and they told me that i just needed to replace the windshield wipers. They cost 30 dollars each and they will change them. So to avoid to come back and pay other 20 dollars for the inspection again i accepted. So after i paid they told me that they were giving me a temporary inspection for 10 days because of the emissions. I took it back to complete the inspection and they charged me another 10 dollars. I should've replace the windshield wipers myself and go to another place. I am not surprised that they can give you appointments for the next day...

Went for a routine oil change and my check engine light came on the very next day. Not to mention they got grease and oil all over my interior. Terrible customer service. Do NOT go here for any routine maintenance or larger issues with your vehicle.

Took my truck in for an alignment check and safety inspection after changing multiple front suspension parts myself. Highly impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail, and courteous attitudes. Will definitely use them again in the future. Job well done.
