We recently stopped into Metric Motors because we were having some car concerns on a long road trip. We called en route, and they said we could stop in on our way through. The foreman came out and checked our vehicle, took the car for a ride to ensure it was safe, and did not charge us for his time. We were beyond appreciative for their time and advice! Reliable and trustworthy!

PLEASE READ, SAVE YOURSELF!!!I recently had a terrible experience with Metric Motors during a vehicle inspection. From start to finish, it was evident that this mechanic business was more interested in making a quick buck than providing honest and reliable service.I dropped my car off and then an hour later received a phone call. I immediately noticed the pattern of deception. The mechanic claimed that both front ball joints were loose and posed a severe safety risk. However, I knew better and decided to play along, pretending to be na�ve about the situation. I inquired if the car would still pass inspection, and they assured me that it would, but they offered to fix the ball joints right away. I declined their offer, stating that I would handle it in the next few weeks. Suddenly, they called back to inform me that they were now going to fail me for the ball joints, even though the New York State DMV website explicitly states that you cannot fail for ball joints.Upon arriving at the shop, I encountered an unenthusiastic staff member who presented a fake smile. I asked to see the alleged issue with the ball joints, and much to their chagrin, they couldn't find any problem. It became apparent that this was nothing more than a shameless money grab.Things took a turn for the worse when the mechanic accidentally smashed my car into the side of the lift!!! I remained calm and understanding, even though it was a clear sign of their incompetence. Instead of taking responsibility, they conveniently suggested fixing it later without involving insurance.Finally, I confronted Dominick, the manager, who initially admitted that the ball joints should not warrant a fail. However, he backtracked on his statement and left the decision up to the mechanic, who desperately tried to convince me of the non-existent issue.I showed them the official document from the NYS DMV, proving that they were wrong, and despite three out of four people agreeing that the ball joints were totally fine, they reluctantly passed my car. They then tried to charge me for the inspection without providing the promised paperwork detailing the issues they claimed my car had.Even when they finally handed me the paperwork, it was misleading, only stating that the inspection was passed, conveniently omitting the fact that they caused damage to my bumper. After pointing out the error, they reluctantly provided a revised receipt.Throughout this entire ordeal, Metric Motors displayed unprofessional behavior, deception, and a lack of integrity. It's evident that they have a history of such practices, as many of my peers informed me they had similar experiences with them after I told them about this situation. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this business and find a trustworthy and reputable mechanic elsewhere.

The staff at Metric Motors could not have been nicer. They communicated clearly of what to expect and advised that the work will not be performed until I approved it!! I received a detailed invoice of items that my car needed with the price for each item and I could pick and choose which items I wanted them to complete. My car was actually completed earlier than expected and it runs better than ever!!! Don t go anywhere else! You know up front what you are receiving and you are at ease! They are honest and don t take advantage of you!!!

I got say Metric motors always prevails! Dominic is upfront and fair with pricing, provides his expertise and incite to solve problems effectively in a timely fashion. Nicole that works the front desk is super sweet and provides top notch customer service. Metric gives you discount coupons to bring the price down on big or small jobs and do right by their customers. The best part about my experience at Metric is they fix the problem right the first time!! I have never come back for the same issues. Even if the cost is hefty, fixing my vehicle right the first time is priceless. Thanks Metric Team!!

I have been bringing all of my business fleet and personal autos to Greg and his staff for many years. They also have done body work on my personal vehicles, a 1995 Corvette and a 1994 Jaguar. They have done small and large repairs on my vehicles, from a basic oil change, to replacing the transmission in one of our trucks. I would recommend them to everyone.

I'm from out of state and was visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. While driving, I hit sharp rocks by the side of the road and gashed both passenger side tires. I had my car flat bedded to Metric on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Within the day, they ordered two identical new tires, mounted, and realigned them for my trip back home to Virginia on Saturday. The staff was courteous, sympathetic, and kept me posted on progress the entire day at a very reasonable price. Kudos to the staff at Metric! Your professional work and behavior was greatly appreciated!

We had our catalic converter replaced by another mechanic in the bronx, bc of ease re where we were working at the time. Long story short they over tighted the new converter and cracks or splits developed from to much pressure build up causing exhaust to go into the car. Horrible smell and not good to breath. We took our Honda fit to Metric Motors and they replaced the gasket and said they could re weld the splits/cracks on converter and place it so it wasn't under pressure. We almost didn't have the welding done bc my partner is quite good with that but to save time etc we decided to have them go forward with repairs, all hand work they told us so it took some time but they repaired a ton of small leaks in exhaust at no extra charge and the car is much quieter and working exceptionally better. No more fumes in the car . Very happy so far with our decision to have them do the extra work! thank you ! Would definitely recommend!

So far so good. Started taking my family's cars here because Mavis was terrible. Dom and Nicole are fantastic and as I type this review I'm getting four tires and an alignment done. I'll update if there's any change in service quality LOL

Today I had my AC recharged and my wheels balanced. Always available with reliable services. Nice waiting area. Staff is very personable. Cost is comparable with the Dealers.I always trust that the work is done right. The location is convenient to get to. I recommend Metric to all.Service: Air & cabin filter replacement

Very pleased with the honesty and fair price of my repairs. Also very fast service on my car considering I needed brakes both front and back with replacement of the rotors and installation of 4 brand new tires. Also while diagnosing my vehicle Dominic took the time and found that the part is under warranty and can be brought to dealership for free services. Not many places will be this honest and will charge you for repairs that should be done at no cost. I was very pleased and appreciative of the honest feedback and will be going nowhere else but metrics for all my vehicles.Services: Tires, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Brakes

Was a loyal customer up until today. All they want is your money and can careless about the service they provide. Unless you are a white male then they treat you with the best service. I came in for an inspection a few times before and it s always a long wait they don t take appointments they just tell you to come in first serve is fine. But don t tell me to come in and I come in and their is no availability that message could ve been relayed when I called. And is it really first serve if ppl coming in after me car is being done before me which makes the wait even longer. Their is no sense of order. In addition the same policy s don t apply to everyone. I came in for an inspection about 3 times. The first time I was told you would have passed inspection but the ONLY thing that made u fail is your left tire. Proceeds to try and charge me 1000 for the same tires I had. I bought those tires from the dealer and let me tell you brand new out the box it was not 1000 it was $600 so already your price gauging. But the one tire only problem that needs to be fixed no problem will do. Comes back a 2nd time called said first come first serve when asked availability. When arrived they were to busy the inconvenience of a drive could have been saved when I called and asked if u guys were available. The third time I bring it in brand new tires all 4 new headlights anything important was fixed. Because remember the ONLY thing I needed fix was the one tire but I got all 4 new ones. They tried to fail me again for a smaller window crack under the wipers and for in her words a small windshield wiper tear . Now before everyone goes well a crack can t pass. They passed my car 2 other times with the same exact crack not only that but when u did my inspection the first time and THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THE LEFT FRONT TIRE why are two more things being added to the list. Not to mention the windshield wiper can easily be replaced by them. My problem is that I ve come to get an inspection for the third time and all y all looking for is money. Because did I forget to mention even the f u pass or fail they can still charge u a few and if u come back after being failed again with the 30 day mark they are allowed to add added fees and charges. And I wouldn t feel as if their wasn t a double standard but the same day u failed me for cracked windshield (only put air quotes because they have passed my car multiple times with the same crack) why didn t you fail the white male with the failed o2 sensors no u passed him and said oh just drive around a little and show us later that it s working. If your gnna have a policy hold it across the board not just sometimes. Organize your scheduling and booking because just because you buy new waiting room chairs with the money you making off peoples back with subpar work on cars doesn t mean people have time or money to be wasted on your establishment. And beware of their parking lot it s herrendous no order to parking what s so ever survival of the fittest. Not to mention the ground is covered in nothing but ice you slip in fall that can be a great issue the thing is like a ice skating rink. Salt your ground take that extra money you making off price gauging to actually care about your customers safety. I WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY THERE AGAIN!

Recently had electrical system problems with my elderly mom's ageing Subaru after it required a jump start. One of the things Metric does very well is to be able to handle issues on the fly and they've been my go-to for some time now. In this case the issues cleared on their own (this can actually happen with Subarus of this vintage). When I picked up the car they charged me nothing. I was perfectly willing to pay them for their time, of course, but they explained that they didn't do all that much because they simply didn't have to. They clearly made sure the car was road worthy before releasing it to me so I obviously owed them something, but they wouldn't hear of it. It just says a lot about how they run their business - they easily could have charged me for a few hours of technician time, and I would have happily paid it, but... they didn't, the car is back to normal and my customer loyalty quotient has only increased. Dominic and Arlene have been fantastic to work with.Service: Electrical repair

There was some miscommunication but they were very adaptive and willing to help in any way and the issue got resolved. I can not describe the amazing work Gina and everyone at Metric Motors has done for us. Metric Motors is our go to Mechanic for all of our vehicles. I reluctantly decided to give this place another chance after a long hiatus, hoping for improvement. Despite the clean facility, I found the prices slightly higher than other places. However, the real disappointment was the abysmal customer service. From the moment I walked in, I was met with a hostile attitude that persisted until the moment I paid. I patiently waited for other customers to finish, only to be rudely told to "wait one minute, lady." As a fellow local business owner, I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment. My experience was incredibly disappointing, and I won't be returning.REVIEW UPDATE:I wrote this review to address the lack of respect I experienced while interacting with your service advisor, and unfortunately, this is not the first time. I fully understand the challenges of managing a busy establishment. As you saw from your video footage where my patience was evident. When I approached the register, there was no customer in front of me, I patiently waited for others to finish, because I saw how frustrated your service advisor was. I have visited your establishment multiple times, having had positive interactions with respectful staff on a few occasions. However, there have been numerous instances where I was spoken to rudely.I want to emphasize that my intention is not to tarnish your reputation. Instead, I felt extremely disrespected during this particular encounter. As a fellow business owner, I believe it's essential to address such incidents with an apology to the customer and by providing necessary training to employees. Responding negatively to a customer's feedback only validates the experience I had today. While I recognize that the customer isn t always right, I stand firm in my feelings about the treatment I received at your establishment.By the way, this has nothing to do with how much and who supports my establishment.

My family and I have been loyal customers for over 40 years. My son has had his vehicles serviced at Metric until he recently moved out of state. When he last visited in April he took his car to Metric to have it serviced and to purchase all new tires. Having lived in five states, he said that nobody can meet the excellent service he had come to depend on at Metric. We are so fortunate to have honest, reasonable and expert automotive service in our area. Thank you Metric Motors for keeping our vehicles in perfect working order.

Always great service! They do get busy, so you may have to wait a while, but it's worth it for the job they do. Never had a bad experience and found them to be fair, friendly and honest.

They did a great job of installing a purge control for the emission system. I would have replaced it myself but there were too many components in the way. The car was finished way ahead of time and that was appreciated. Thank you for an excellent job. :-)Update...10/14/23 I brought in my wife's Honda CRV because it was running rough. Turns out it needed new spark plugs and just some general maintenance that I didn't have time to get too. Metric Motors can be trusted . They do excellent and detailed work. We took our Audi Q5 in for some repairs and we re happy with the process from estimate to completion. Just wanted to share my excellent experience at Metric Motors. I was driving on 84 with my grandson when I had car troubles. Pulled off at the first exit and saw Metric motors. From the first second I opened the door; I was impressed. Nickol at the front desk is a sweetheart and kept me in the loop the whole time. The mechanics did outstanding work on my car for a fair price. Also advocated for me regarding a faulty part from another shop. It was also great having access to a loaner car.
