My recent experience with this company was positive. The tow driver was courteous and friendly as were the people back at the shop. I was actually shocked at the very reasonable repaircost to my car. I expected it to be so much more like everything else these days so it felt like I was catching a break which was nice. It has been a few days since having my vehicle back and all seems well. My experience with this company was draining. I wanted almost 7 hours to get ONE tire. They are in the middle of nowhere. Nothing nearby to eat or drink. Except they have an old vending machine that one of the guys said they self that it only has soda and you don t even get what you ask for. The lady there was rude. No one apologized for the long wait. They overcharged you for horrible service. At least have the decency to offer a snack or discount. And how are you a tow company with car equipment and you have no tires. And the guy at the front desk still had the audacity to tell me I should get another tires replaced today as well. So, if I did that I would ve been there still today. Never would I recommend this company. And I have had a lot of experience with towing companies and tire changes. Never have I experienced this. Horrible service. I would put zero if I could. And if you going to have someone stay that long. At least clean your bathroom. Disgusting!

This company is typical of some of the HORRIBLE tow companies that manipulate their tow bills with extra toll charges, boosted milage, and fluffed up service charges. The woman that was on the phone Jan or whoever she is , was very condescending and trying to fast talk her way through the explanation of charges. For example: Stating that she can t explain the charges that were charged to my card until her driver came back with the bill. Funny , when all milage, tolls, and rate per mile are assessed prior to them coming out to a vehicle. Stay away from these rude CROOKS ! I can imagine how much they ve racked up taking 30/40 bucks here and there.

I work for a big emergency road side assistances for tractor trailers I got stock by the 1-84 near exit 11 I will gladly put down zero stars for the simple fact that the town truck driver was extremely unprofessional andThreaten me to fight me because he said my card had no founds tell me how a black Amex doesn t have founds screaming his lugs out, that all he wanted is to get pay the money was always there he just didn t know how to use his own equipment deviceI didn t catch this fool name but he was bold with tattoos pretty sure he was homesexual by the way he was screaming and yellling and the way he shave his eyebrows which I don t really care about about just do your self a favor and stay away from this company bunch of scammers

My husband got into a car accident with a big truck. The ambulance had to rush him to the hospital. So, the police called this money hungry place to take our car. The accident occurred on rt.59 and they charged $400. I came to pick up the car the following day waiting on my insurance to confirm that's when I noticed both of my plates were missing. I asked the older and and young on that were there. They both looked at me straight in my eyes and lied to me saying both plates got lost in the accident. I flipped on them real quick because the day before when I came I saw them in there and plus you can see where they unscrewed them. I said to them i wanted to make sure that in was in their property and that some crazy person didn't take them and do God knows what with them. Then, they started asking me for the title of car. I called the police quick. When the police came they said had to lie to me for safety reason because they have random people that come at night to take plates over there. They're so RUDE SO UNPROFESSIONAL, HEARTLESS but professional LIARS. Then, they lied some more and the car was not insured when I had the police report with stating clearly that the car is insured by allstate. Since clearly, they wanted to steal my car because from the beginning they kept telling me that I should leave it its not drivable. Worst place to ever call or ever deal with for any situation.

Customer service was lacking. They put a new mass air sensor in my car that part was $119 at Napa. My car had just been inspected and had the throttle body cleaned. They claimed they put a new air filter in it but I don't believe they did and they claimed they cleaned the throttle body which maybe they did. All this together is less than an hour labor. My bill was $670. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have any other options.

Work was done exceptionally well. The master mechanics also worked on my car for 3 more hours than expected without charging me more. I was broke down about 3 miles away towed by one of their night workers as it was after hours who was excellent. over all it wasn't as scary as I thought it would beService: Engine repairService: Engine repair

This towing company doesn t care about the situation you are in. I have been trying to get a tow truck since 7 in the morning and I made a second pick up time when the first didn t show up. I have been sitting in a cold unmovable car for 5+ hours. The second time I was skipped because there was a more important pickup case and when I was explaining my situation to a worker on the phone I got a big sigh and he hung up on me. By far the rudes and dysfunctional towing company I ve ever worked with. DON T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

It is a long story so I will try to summarize. The staff was rude and unprofessional. They ran me in circles regarding what was wrong with my car and what they were actually doing. They charged over $1000 for a job that did not need to be performed. They kept the car almost two weeks with no courtesy call. I had to call to find out where my vehicle was. They cited parts shortages... which still does not justify the amount of time they had the car regardless. When I finally got the car back there were grease marks on the visor and window frame, ashes in the car and the drivers side window button had been jammed upward so hard it broke. When I called to address the issues with management they did not even offer an apology let alone attempt to make things right. I was told i bairaded them. At that point I asked to speak with upper management or an owner and was told that he'd call on Tuesday (yesterday) and so far no call. Oh and I should mention the car broke down less than 48 hours after I got it back. Don't trust these people.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Last week around midnight, I blew both back tires in my car. I was very nervous and anxious in the dark, when Larry showed up. He calmed me right down and was quick to tow me to safety. That was probably the best customer service I've ever received, I can't thank Larry enough! He's the best!

I got into an accident and my car was towed here. the car was totaled, it flipped over, the airbags went off, the doors was jammed in and i was willing to give the car up. i just needed the plates. legally the plates belong the state not me and the towing place can not hold the plates. as a towing company , they have the right to hold my personal belongs, NOT THE LICENSE PLATES BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BELONG TO ME, THAT IS THE STATES PROPERTY AND THEY CAN NOT HOLD, HIDE AND TRY TO FORCE YOU TO PAY FOR THEM. i tried to inform them of this and they began to be extremely nasty. i went to jan s and they took the plates off my car and hid them! no other car had their plate off except for mine! they just wanted me to pay for a totaled car and tried to force me to do it by stealing my plates! they stole my plates! i had to file a police report! the manager is extremely nasty, unprofessional, and money hungry. theses people know they are wrong. i hope they are shut down for trying to scam people!if anyone goes through this just file a police report!

Rented a Penske Box truck from this poor excuse of an establishment. The tire was flat, and they gave me the truck ensuring that it was in great condition. I later called back, respectfully, and asked them to exchange the truck. The owner was rude and continued to interrupt my respectful and reasonable request. Do not work with Jans med a car, you will regret it instantly, and your bank account will hate you.

I had excellent service experience with Janice. I bought a used car and wasn't sure if I want to retain it. Not only Janice arranged for the prompt pick up, she also quickly evaluated it and gave me correct advise as to what is the mechanical condition of it. She also offered me cost effective options to fix it which were very reasonable. She also advised me that what in future could be needed.It wouldn't make sense for me to keep the car due to my personal situation and she is helping me out to sale it.All the staff at Jan's is extremely friendly and they give right advise. That's the best thing I like about them.

I've been going to this family owned business for a long time now and have never been disappointed. I'm ALWAYS more confident in their quality and honesty. The work has been great. The prices were always quoted before the work, and never was more charged. Each time I had a problem with my car they actually talk to you and explain what s wrong with your car. They give you their honest opinions. They've always been extremely professional, friendly and very reasonable with their prices.These guys go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Same day service, truthful labor hours on the service, and upfront when talking about what NEEDS to be done, and what WILL need to be done in the near future. Would recommend these guys to anyone who asked. Take your car here!

My experience today was awesome! As usual the staff was professional, and respectful. I went in thinking I would need thousands of dollars of repairs. They had my car on the road within hours and not anywhere near what I thought I would pay! Thank you to Max and John and the rest of this amazing staff!!! Let s start off on how they charged me 800$ without even picking my car up . I requested the tow to be canceled . I wouldn t recommend this towing company . They said they will only charge upon arrival when drivers gets there which he never did . So pretty much I got charged 800$ when the driver never arrived .

Jan's Med A Car is my Go-To shop for all my automotive needs! Family owned business which makes customer service superb! I have been coming to Jan's for 5+ years now and they always get the job done right. Great service on regular engine maintenance, tires, brakes, oil changes and many other normal wear and tare fixes. They specialize in 24hr towing services (flatbed and wrecker trucks) and operated with Enterprise car rental company while my car was in the shop. Quality of work can be trusted and they are always just a phone call away!

Jan's has been nothing short of helpful regarding my Nissan. From routine servicing, to diagnosing a transmission failure - which turned out to be covered under dealer warranty. They towed it to the dealer for me and everything. Staff are friendly, helpful, honest, knowledgeable, and pricing is very fair. Highly recommend! I'm grateful for the quality service they have provided me in the times I've needed them.

I'm a long time customer of Jan's due to the friendly atmosphere, honesty, prices, warranty and excellent service I receive. I bring my car to Jan's for all my service's when needed. I want to thank Larry the mechanic for making my car safe and running strong. One of Jan's tow trucks picked up our 22-year old's car in Sloatsburg in May after she had a flat tire. When the driver unhooked it in their yard, he slammed it into another parked car causing major damage to her driver's side front door. Jan's owners promised her they'd fix it, then made shoddy, superficial repairs, forcing her to drive the car for months with a misaligned door that wouldn't properly close.We eventually got estimates from local body shops (ranging from $3,900 - $4,800), but Jan's called the estimates a fraud and refused to pay, denying that they caused that much damage and saying "it was just a scratch." Poor kid just bought the car 3 months earlier in perfect condition. My wife and I got involved and we ended up having to file complaints and claims directly with their insurer and roadside assistance dispatcher, as well as the police and DMV. Jan's owners didn't cooperate with their own insurance company's investigation; they told different stories to us and the police about who did the initial repairs to our niece's car; and they refused to produce their own video surveillance tape of the accident.Luckily we kept good records and recorded many of our conversations with them, and their insurer found them liable and paid $6,900 for the proper repairs, which were finally completed two weeks ago. Based on the evidence we provided, their roadside assistance dispatcher also told us they would have paid if Jan's insurer hadn't. We are very grateful to both to them for (almost) making up for Jan's bad behavior.The body shop that did the final repairs told us that the repairs attempted by Jan's were superficial and designed to make everything look passable, but didn't address the underlying damage and it made the situation worse.This whole ordeal consumed nearly 4 months of our lives and was very stressful for our whole family. We do not recommend Jan's Med A Car!

i had the opportunity to need service for one of my trucks. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I was given.From start to finish they were professional and friendly. While I was waiting I had the opportunity to speak to another customer who had only really nice things to say and it was evident in how I was treated. I own my own business so I appreciate the effort it takes to satisfy a customer and they did just that. I am not usually a review person but they deserve it .

Do not ever use their towing service. One of their deivers, john, tried to extort money out of me and threaten to drive away without unloading my car. DO NOT USE THEM

Thank you for a wonderful job on both of my cars that you have been doing for many years!! You have got a fantastic crew of mechanics who are professional and courteous. Your towing help in last snow storm was extremely helpful and got my family out of trouble....Keep up the great work. For those who are contemplating - this is the place for towing and fix your car...

I went to get two wheels completely replaced after an accident not too far from this location on I-87. RJ mentioned a possibility that the tire pressure monitor system could have been damaged in the accident, but was unsure. He asked if I wanted them replaced, which I declined (I did not want to agree to replacing them if there was a possibility they didn't need to be replaced). When the car was returned to me, the two new wheels were completely missing their tire pressure sensors which are $150 a piece. RJ claimed that they must have both fallen off in the accident, only to later make a second claim that they were broken in half and he discarded them. My photos the day of the accident shows both sensors still on the wheels. Having a conversation about this over the phone, he made it clear that there was nothing they could do about the missing parts. Any professional who will tell you two different stories in the same conversation is not trustworthy, and you should avoid doing any kind of business with them. Had it not been a time sensitive emergency, I would not have come here. Do not make the same mistake.

This place doesn't deserve one star rating. If I could rate using negative stars review this weekend place deserves a negative 5. I recently placed a budget truck rental for a move utilizing this facility as a pick up site. The reservation was placed a week in advance. I drove 2 hours to the pick up location to be told that a truck was not available for me. I truly thought this was a joke. Here I am with mover, 2 hours away from home with no truck to carry my belongings. The representative stated that a truck was going to be located for me and that someone would be calling me with a pick up location. I'm still waiting for the call. I had to make other last minute arrangements resulting in an obscene amount of money. What a nightmare. Please, save yourself the aggravation and dont rent from here. This facility can't be trusted and they don't protect their customers.

-risked our lives while they had us ride in an unsecured SUV on top of their tow truck (illegal)-2 hour wait to look at my car-tried to lock my car inside their gates and charge us for it-insanely rude and disrespectful to both of us-try to charge us for tow even though we had AAAPLEASE DON'T HELP THIS BUSINESSStory below:My car blew a head gasket on the NY thruway on the way home to Central NJ and a police officer called Jan's to tow us to their shop. The driver had us stay in my SUV while he put my car on top of his tow truck. He didn't strap in the wheels and told us to stay in my SUV, "where it would be safer." Once we got there, I told them what happened and they said they would run a diagnostic for $95. I agreed and they told me they would update me in 30mins. Two hours later, I had my husband go check on them. They just started looking at it and told me I blew a head gasket and that they would have to redo my entire engine. They said it would be around $4,000 and I would have to leave it there. We called AAA to see how much it would be to tow our truck to Howell, NJ (2.5 hours away) and decided to work on the car closer to home. They got mad that we were leaving and told me that the tow truck can't go inside their property and they close in 5 mins and we're going to lock the gates. They said they would also charge us a fee for storing our car in their lot. I told them that I'm pushing my car out now to be there for the AAA tow truck. He went to get his manager and told me not to touch my truck. They told us that even outside of their gated lot was their property and we couldnt keep our car there. We pushed our truck out of their lot anyway and onto the side of the highway. The AAA truck met us immediately and helped us get home.

My car broke down on the thruway. I m not from the area they towed it and repaired the vehicle quickly and efficiently.
