Scott has been my favorite mechanic since I was a teenager. When he was a realtor, I was devastated, the world was a bleaker place!I love his integrity, amazing communication skills, sense of community, intelligence and mechanical brilliance. Now,on top of all of that, he has a killer set up,: kind really competent mechanics, a clean well lighted place to hang out, a great location!He has helped me out with so many cars in the last 3 decades. Above and beyond are the keywords for Jenkinstown Motors!

The reason Scott has been trusted for +30 years with the repair and maintenance of automobiles is that he and his team do great honest work at honest prices. They do what they say are going to do and back up all repairs 100%! Great business, great communication, great people to work with.

I had the pleasure of not only meeting Scott, a most friendly, thorough and trustworthy mechanic but his mother who was there the afternoon I brought my car in. I was getting ready to travel 1250 miles and discovered my back hatch would not open. I left a message and Scott returned my call promptly and was able to look over my Honda Pilot before my trip~ packing for a move would have been a difficult feat w/o Scott s expertise. Not only did he fix it, he performed an overall inspection to make sure our Olive was road worthy. We felt safe and secure knowing Scott took care to make sure everything was in working order. Well done Scott, you are an asset to the Highland community- we are ever grateful for your service and commitment to us and others in the surrounding community. Scott at Jenkinstown is wonderful!! He got my car in the shop right after it exploded coolant and crapped out on the highway. He got it fixed in 2 days before I headed out for a big roadtrip - replaced my radiator, did an oil change, fixed an AC drain leak, replaced a break light, AND replaced a gasket for my muffler that was rattling around! Really amazing local mechanic who will be my regular service shop from now on.

I'm very picky and nervous when it comes to mechanics working on my car. My car might not be the best, but it's all I have and it's my baby. Choosing a reliable shop is very important. I've been going to Jenkinstown Motors for years. They always do quality service at reasonable prices. Scott, the owner of Jenkinstown Motors, is one of the few folks that put the customer first without hesitation. I could cite numerous examples, but this review would go on for too long. Firstly, if you own a Japanese car, don't even consider bringing it anywhere else. Scott is a trained expert on them. But even if you own another brand, you can still experience the peace of mind that your vehicle is being serviced properly, and you're being treated with the respect we all hope to receive, but too often don't.

Our dear honda accord died just north of the Whitestone Bridge and Scott, bless his heart, came down with a trailer and drove us back home! What a Guy! Look forward to someday hearing whatever happened to that Marcos...

Every time I get into my car I think how grateful I am for Jenkinstown Motors for keeping me safe and sound. Scott was so helpful and understanding and a pleasure to work with. I needed some major repair work done on my Honda Element last year and he came highly recommended. With a new engine and new brakes . It feels like a new car again! After traveling over 5,000 miles, it s still driving exceptionally well. Thanks Scott and all the mechanics who worked on my Honda!

Scott and his team are the best! I took my used Lincoln to them for a routine inspection two years after I bought the car and it was a mess! They fixed me up with tires and brakes and everything else. I had been robbed in buying the car, but not in getting it up to par at Jenkinstown Motors. My husband pass away three years ago and I have felt that I've not received a fair deal, especially from people who deal in cars, since then. Scott is the first auto person who was sincerely kind and compassionate. He is a professional who does excellent work and he does not overcharge. I recommend him highly.

We were in town for some business and our Subaru had a headlight out as noted by a New York State Trooper who was very polite and courteous. I told him I would get it repaired the next day. The next day I googled Subaru and Jenkinstown Motors appeared. So after dropping off my wife for her business. I went over to Jenkinstown Motors, it was about 7:45am and a friendly man was outside doing some maintenance on the driveway. I told him my problem, and he replied if I could return at 8:15 when his men start and they would get me in. Well as it turned out this man was the owner of Jenkinstown Motors that was very courteous and caring. I returned and as he had said one of his men took care of me right away. Even though they were very busy they took care of me first. The office staff was very friendly and courteous as well as the mechanic that took care of my vehicle. As someone from out of the area they made me feel like I was part of the community and didn't brush me aside. And if you ever had anything go wrong while your away from your home. You know how comforting it is to find a good place to get repairs done to your vehicle. I highlyRecommend Jenkinstown Motors for all your vehicles needs wether you live in the community or are from out of town.Thanks

I went to two local garages to get an estimate to fix my 2013 Subaru Outback air-conditioning (cold air coming from passenger side vents only). One garage told me it was too big of a job for them - the other told me it would cost over $2,000 because they had to remove the entire console and it would take two days to fix. I then brought my Subaru to Jenkinstown for one last estimate. Jenkinstown fixed the problem in 10 minutes (forced air into vent and popped open a "stuck" vent door) Cost me around $100 with the labor. I'm extremely grateful to have honest, polite, professional service in the New Paltz area. My "go to" Subaru garage from now on!

I tend to buy my cars new and keep them for a very long time, so while I use the dealership to maintain them for the first several years, after they're out of warranty I have other options. And even though I have a bias toward using a mechanic who specializes in one particular kind of car, I've had great results at Jenkinstown. When my 1997 Mazda Miata needed a new top, Scott did a really good job replacing it (I've driven it at highway speeds through the rain, and not a single leak!). And I've found that his advice is reliable and trustworthy. The first time I came to a Jenkinstown it was for a routine inspection, and I was surprised when he told me there was a significant rust problem developing on the underside of a car that looked otherwise in fine shape. He didn't try to sell me a bunch of repairs-in fact, he advised that it might be more economical in the long run to think about replacing the car. But since I was surprised and it was my first time at Jenkinstown, I brought it to the dealership for a second opinion (without telling them what Scott observed). They made the same observation of a rust problem.

I have been going to Scott for almost 26 years. He has always provided thoughtful, honest service. He has never done anything without consulting me; he has offered options for repair when appropriate. He always makes sure that the job is done correctly and he always stands behind his work. He is the go-to guy for car repairs in the New Paltz area.

Everything you ever wanted in a mechanic: honest, precise, thorough. Gives you a heads up of work that will doing, and how soon so you can budget for it. Jenkinstown Motors has been caring for for Toyota Tacoma since I got it at 45k miles and we're still running smooth at nearly 300k!

So glad we finally found Scott and his crew! I'm never taking my car anywhere else. Not only are they top notch and absolutely trustworthy, they offer amazing customer service (including pick up and drop off with your kids in tow so you don't have to sit there and wait with little ones) They are just great and I can't say enough- absolutely love theys guys!

What can I say. These guys saved our short columbus day weekend vacation. After a flat tire off the ny state thruway, and no way to remove the tire thanks to two stripped lugs that would not come off, Scott and his crew were able to work at it, ultimately having to torch and cut them off. They could not have been more helpful, even promising my dad they were going to make his day better. I highly recommend this place.

I had the luck of discovering Jenkinstown Motors several years ago, and I highly recommend this auto mechanic shop. It has been my experience that the staff and the owner are polite, professional, honest, sincere, efficient, and provide exceptional work at an affordable cost.

They said itd take a half hour I was stuck there an hour and a half. They failed me on inspection for a bunch of little stuff, didn't even give me a cost estimate on repairs. Charged me $50 for an oil change. I asked multiple times about prices and the front desk person just kept saying "I'll have to do the bill". She did the bill for like a half hour and I even said something to the owner ab how It can't possibly take that long to do it and he said that's their system. I went there bc of the good reviews here. So I'll spare the next person. I don't know who wrote those reviews but this one is real. And the front desk person was sort of rude.

Eddie Hartwell is the best. Knows his stuff and checks every possibility for past and future problems.Scott (the owner) is a very nice guy on the phone, and he treats his workers as well as he treats his customers.

Nasty customer service!!!Just got off the phone with Scott and was flabbergasted at his rudeness! I called to get pricing on a 90k service and asked what it covered. First time I called no one called me back. I called again and finally spoke to Scott. He gave me pricing but since it was a bit high for what I can afford right now, I called back to get pricing on just replacing the spark plugs and pcv valve. He wouldn't give me a price on the pcv valve and instead just sounded very annoyed and said, "Ya know what? No thank you. I'm at the point now where it's a "no thank you". No thank you. No thank you." Ummm, okay??? what kind of response is that?!?!?! I'm just trying to figure out what I can afford to do right now and instead of saying "I'm sorry but it's a packaged deal only," or "What can you afford to do right now?" I get a nasty attitude. So "no thank you" Jenkinstown Motors, I'll go somewhere else where they are willing to work with someone who isn't inherently rich. :/

Lousy customer service. They had the option to fix a $36.00 part (which was the problem) or a $500 part. They opted to start with the $500.00 and the problem returned. When all I wanted to do was discuss the issue with them, I could not get a call back them for over a day. I would never refer anyone to them.

One female attendant was too pushy and immature. I just wanted to go in and take care of my business, I didn't like the constant asking if I needed something. Especially after I said no twice. Unprofessional and not classy.
