I own a nearby auto repair shop, Habby's has done over 30 of my customers transmissions. Wayne and Warren are standup guys. Hard to find a GOOD transmission shop, and here you have one.

Obviously, noone likes to hear the price tag of something unexpected, like a blown transmission. But I have to say, I am so glad to have worked with Habby's Transmission!I use my minivan for car service and last Sunday after a trip the transmission decided that after 182000 miles it was time to visit the afterlife. Key dropped the van that day. Warren was in constant contact with me all week. It could have been stressful as I was on vacation all this week. Fast forward to today..... van was repaired, test driven, and ready for pickup. Inam so appreciative of their prompt attention and time frame for the repair.5 stars all the way!Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

Let me just say you will not find a better group of guys to work on your vehicle than at Habby's. I had my transmission rebuilt at this shop and it was not an easy job. The Truck was 22 years old and a complete basket case. Habby's stuck with me throughout the ordeal and were super helpful. The transmission works great now. Super smooth and no issues.I generally dont like using repair shops. I tend to do things myself but i can say that I feel absolutely confident that these guys care and want to do the right thing. They don't cut corners and they stand by their work. Worth every penny spent.Service: Transmission

No transmission work is cheap, so you want to make sure it is done by people whose skill is worth the money. Habby's rebuilt my failed tran with precision, and handled my business with patience and professionalism.

I had a shift cable that let go . I called Warren , had a tow truck there in a half hour and they called me the next day to tell me what was wrong and how much . Simple cable and very affordable. They could have said it was many more expensive things , but they are honest and I couldn't be happier. That's why they have been in business for so long . Completely trustworthy.

The place used to do good work. Now very expensive. They rebuilt my transmission in my blazer. The truck ran good for a few yrs. Then the two selonoids went bad. If you rebuilding the transmission a few yrs ago why not change the two selonoids as well. Not just the clutch and bands and fluid?

Habbys charged 2,600$ and didn t fix anything. We brought the car back and they said take it to the dealership. No consideration for our wasted money and their lack of competence.Service: Transmission repairService: Transmission repair

I took my 03 BMW there for repair. I had a warranty through a third party company. I spent time throughout the approval process heavily involved in the negotiation with the warranty company. The service manager seemed to be hot headed, not very good people skills. After 30 days repairs were approved and completed. I picked up my car dirty and noticed a cracked dashboard. I believe the cracked occurred due to the age of the car and sitting outside in the hot sun for the entire time, there is little parking at this shop. I brought to the attention of the owners, however, they did not address my concern. Shortly after driving the car I began hearing a loud rattle and screeching noise, I took it back to the owners to address, they told me that they did nothing to cause the noise. In summary, the car runs smooth except I have new problems I did not have before. I would not recommend service here.

My father passed away and I was in town from VA to take care of some of his things, my transmission went out right in front of my father house (dads way of saying stay awhile) anyway, I was for certain that I was going to get shafted who ever I brought it to because being from out of town they could stick it to me. I did an internet search and reached out to Habbys on Sunday night, 8m Monday morning Warren contacted me, he set up the tow truck for me and told me he would let me know something. On Tuesday morning he contacted me and told me how much it would be to diagnose my transmission but explained that he would apply that to the cost of the job, I told him ok, later on in the day he contacted me again and told me it needed to be rebuilt, he explained thoroughly what it intailed and how much the cost was. He told me I would have it on Friday. So Thursday evening at 4pm Warren Calls me and I am thinking he is going to tell me it won't be ready till Monday or he forgot to add something in the price and the bill will be higher but I was very surprised and wrong, Warren called to say it was all done. I was very surprised. I ran right up to pick it up, the cost which I feel was very reasonable was exactly what he told me, no hidden cost and gave me a 2yr 24k mile nation wide warranty. The next day I drove my truck back to VA 410 miles and she never felt better. I want to say I would recommend this shop to any one, they where quick to get the work done, they where upfront on the repairs and cost, explained everything in detail. I couldn't be more happy with this shop. Keep up the good work guys and if I know anyone that needs your services I will send them your way.

Their warranty is second to none! When they give you a price to do work on your vehicle, they stand by their work. Had some electrical issues that arose after there work. Other shops would not have fixed this issue and sent me to a mechanic because it was not the transmission causing the error. They fixed all of it and charged me nothing extra. They even paid for a rental while working on it. With so many shady transmission shops out there, only looking to make a buck, it is relieving to know that there is a local shop that is honest and does quality work which they stand behind.I highly recommend this shop to anyone having transmission problems.

Habby's looked at my husband's car that was having a strange issue that we thought was related to the transmission. Thanks to their honesty, they told us that it was not the transmission, but an electrical issue and recommended another shop that specialized with electric issues....cherry on top, they didn't charge us!My father-in-law initially went there was his transmission issues and was very pleased. We were pleased with their honesty. You can trust Habby's with your car.

I called the office made an appointment drop my truck off a 1997 Ford F150 they were able to fix it the communication between me and then was very awesome if I call there and somebody wasn't there right away to speak to me they got right back to me and that means a lot when the truck was dropped off the people there were very courteous and polite same thing with the pickup of the truck they were very courteous and polite I would definitely do business with them again and recommend them the Stars only give you a five they should be able to give you a 20 cuz that's what they would get the deserves a pat on the back they did an awesome jobService: Transmission replacement

Great Fast service they took the problem personal and gave satisfaction results. They Will fix the problem. To get your car back to you. I highly recommend them to visit this place. Habby's your the best.

Habby's are the best. I had my Toyota 4 Runner tranny rebuilt at 70,000 miles by someone else and it was never quite right. In fairness to the other shop they tried to get it right but couldn't, they gave up, I wasn't happy. The tranny blew again at 140,000 miles, coincidence?. Habby's rebuilt it and ran into similar issues but they didn't give up! It was a hassle with how many times I had to bring it back, but Wayne never gave up always helped with a smile and they got it right. The tranny never ran so smooth, like new. If all shops were like Habby's the world would be a better place.

I brought my car there. Thr son of the owner say that they wouldn't not do any work with letting us know first. Then they wouldnt give the car back without us paying 2000 for estamite. Scum. Don't take your car their unless your insurence takes all the it. Otherwise. Scum.

The people that worked on my husband's truck and the people in the office are great the best place to take your vehicle to get it fixed I recommend them to anyone

Family Owned and Operated. Fair Prices. HONEST MECHANICS (And i thought that was an oxymoron!) In my opinion the best place on Long Island to Get your Tranny done once, correctly at a fair price.
