Only place I trust to bring my Jeep, been bringing my Jeep here for years and can honestly say this is the only place to go. Josh always keeps it 100% honest with what needs to be done, recommendations, and what can wait. If you're looking for the right shop to build your vehicle the right way, 260 is the only option. Pay for it once, have it be done right, and be happy!

Josh the owner is friendly, fair and helpful. He installed new headlights on my Jeep Gladiator and put 35 in A/T tires. He has a reputation for being great with Jeep and off-road mods which is why I bring my truck to him even though he s an hour and 10 mins from where I live. 10/10 recommend.How do I know he s an honest mechanic? I wanted to install a mod which I was told by others was good. He refused to install it and proceeded to explain why it s bad for my Jeep.

I have been using 260 Auto Repair for years. Always solid service and pricing. Recently, both of my vehicles inspection stickers were a day from expiring. 260 Auto did both inspections last minute before closing on a Saturday. Josh and his staff go above and beyond. I highly recommend them.

I have been visiting Josh for a few years ...for all my mechanically needs... and a positive energy boost... this is the cleanest... most organized... progressive mechanic you will ever visit... more like your personal automotive consultant! I have taken my classic car... generators... boring cars and Of course... Jeep to him!

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now but glad to finally be doing it now. I cannot express how happy I am bringing my Jeep to Josh and his crew. My brother has trusted him for years and finally got me to go to 260 and I couldnt be happier. I've never had so much trust in someone in regards to my car. Josh is honest, he explains things in a way that makes sense he's proactive and extremely fair in price! He truly wants you to make good decisions and provides you with all the information you need to make those decisions. I've never met a mechanic who's honestly told me I didn't need work done and that I still had time until I did. Who does that? JOSH! I highly recommend 260 Auto to anyone and everyone! Josh has been working on my cars forever. What brought me initially to his door was blown motor on my car. Through his and his team's expertise, I got my car back better than it ever was. These guys know cars and all of them are enthusiasts, so you know they care about what they're doing. Plus everyone is ASE certified.When it comes to anything, Josh tells you the truth and there is no tricks. Whether it is a small or large service, he will tell like it is AND how to go about handling it. If you're confused about parts, he makes solid recommendations. True experience speaks for itself.There is real quality here and the best part is, he works on anything and everything. Their automotive knowledge knows no bounds. American, Euro, Japanese...you name it, he can do it.It is incredibly tough to find a shop you can trust, but I just did the work for you. Short, straight to the point version: Go to Joshua before you go to anyone else in Rockland county.Long version:I have gone to a lot of different mechanics in the area in the last few years, in addition to the dealership. Due to my horrible experiences at most of these shops, I started to do some of the simple repairs myself (brakes, fluid changes, etc), but always dreaded any major issues beyond my expertise. Having finally gone to 260 auto, I m finally comfortable knowing that there is a local shop with world class knowledge. A lot of mechanics and shops lack critical thinking skills. I legit wasted thousands on repairs at other shops. However, It was clear that Joshua and his team were the exception in that they had the problem solving skill and passion needed to take care of your car. My typical approach is to go in to a shop, having done my diligence and say little and listen more to the other person to gauge them as a person, their knowledge base, and their structured though process (or lack of).The more Joshua explained to me what was wrong with my car and his methodological approach to getting to the root cause, it was clear this guy knew what he was taking about. I ve often been perplexed why most mechanics have very little diagnostic skills when fundamentally they re diagnosing safety issues with your car, in many ways putting your life at risk no more than a doctor misdiagnosing a condition early for your personal health. Joshua and his team have the SURGICAL PRECISION that you didn t even know you should look for in an automotive repair shop. While all other mechanics told me to keep throwing parts at my car, Joshua was straight up and told me it s better to look at getting a new car rather than paying him money to do what others did. He thinks long term and strategically when it comes to taking care of your car as well as building a relationship based on trust.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I am a young female and often feel I get taken advantage of when going to mechanics because they assume I won t realize either way.After trying out this place I was blown away by the transparency and kindness Josh has demonstrated. He is not there to take your money. He genuinely cares about whatever the problem may be. I have never left a car place feeling more like the workers were generous with they re effort and not for the money.So glad to have found this and simply that people like Josh exist.

Josh ( the owner) gives the best price and gets the job done right. Have been going to him for years and I live 25 miles from there. I don't trust anyone else to work on my everyday trick and my classic car.

Great experience!Recent two visits:OneFor a NYS inspection. He was able to squeeze me in on zero notice and able to get me back on road legally relatively quickly.SecondOil change. Very competitively priced vs dealer pricing. Same quality products without the big ticket dealer prices.I have a project diesel truck which I will be getting together with Josh. I've been a customer at Josh's shop for the past 10 years. I bring my commuter car as well as my race car to the shop because they are honest, reliable, and both of my vehicles have run top notch since I've been coming here. Funny thing is I remember this Tahoe sitting in the parking lot for MONTHS! I happened to be in the waiting room the day this gentleman picked up the truck. He came in cursing and carrying on that his truck was not repaired. After sitting in the waiting room during the back and forth interaction between the Owner Josh, and the customer, Josh kept his composure. proceeded to show the customer ALL of the receipts for the parts, time sheets for the labor, as well as the old parts he removed. When it was my turn to speak to Josh, the owner of the Tahoe RETURNED TO THE SHOP TO APOLOGIZE. Apparently he went to another shop to verify if the work was done, which it was. Josh continued to be a professional, and waved the storage fee for the customer. Funny how this guy is a keyboard warrior, but was very humbled when he came in to apologize for his ignorance. Josh and his staff, mechanics, and techs are nothing but professionals and honest people, something very hard to come across these days.

Used this business to repair my lights on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Had after market lights...owner went on about how he wanted to be my mechanic and how he use to work for Rockland dodge & how they did horrible work and customer service was bad. Long story short ..he ended up putting regular lights that didn t work. My directional also didn t work and he had my Jeep for a week. Gave me a discount because the lights didn t work and told me he would call me and fix the problem. That was 4 months agoService: Installation

First of all I have traveled all over the United States and a few countries overseas. I have been up in NY since April 2020 on a contract at a local hospital working with Covid-19 and general acute care patients. My very reliable Toyota would not crank up one day. I was 10 hours away from home and quite worried. Josh took several hours of his own time to evaluate each system in my car. He drove it up and down the Palisades Parkway and could find nothing wrong with the car. I fully expected to pay him for several hours of work. He refused to accept payment and I really was pretty overwhelmed at his kindness. He could have charged me a lot of money because first of all I am not local, second of all it took several hours of his time, and third of all I may never see him again. But I will NEVER forget him and the kindness that he and so many other New Yorkers displayed toward me and the other contract medical people that came up here to work. Thank you Josh!! I hope I deliver healthcare half as good as you take care of your customers! You are AMAZING and I thank you so much! New York has a reputation of having very tough people, but there is also a camaraderie here which is quite contagious. Thanks Josh!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Excellent auto repair center. They give you honest estimates, and don't try to lowball you to get in the door. I had a 2004 old jalopy that I was trying to resurrect. They said it wouldn't make sense based on their assessment. I appreciate that very much, and intend to be back to 260 to use their services in the future. Five stars.

I went in yesterday, Jan 06, 2020, with my car (unfamiliar hum coming from the rear, and CEL). They took 4 hours to look into the car, came back with a diag saying, "too expensive to fix". I was completely OK with the way they treated me and I felt I was getting an honest analysis on my car problems. I'd go back here in a heartbeat! If you are Jeep driver, you should have these folks in your Contacts list!

I was referred to 260 Auto Repair by a coworker. Josh and his team repaired my car and other issues caused by past shops. They did a great job and my car is like new again. Will definitely be going back for all future work on my car

Owner is a good guy. Very upfront and honest. He treated me very good. Everyone knows how valuable it is to have "a guy" who you can trust with servicing your car. I think this might be a guy to consider. Look like a bunch a guys who enjoy what they do.

Josh told me I have 3k worth of springs in my 2001 cherokee!!Yes that's 3 thousand dollars worth of springs in my 2001 cherokee.He did fix the track bar mount but suspiciously my misfire has reappeared immediately after picking up my vehicle from them,stopping somewhere and restarting my car.My misfire issue was resolved by replacing the coolant temperature sensor with oem.This fixed the problem a year ago,since then it's been great,until now.I suspect someone removed my new sensor and replaced it with an old one.He wants 4k to replace 4 ball joints 2 front springs and the rest leaf spring!!!!Beware.
