Great service! **Edit** - Not, they insisted I give them a five star review to get the service for free (after the regional manager already promised it would be free). They damaged my new Enkei RPF1 wheels and they are refusing to take responsibility. I wouldn t recommend them unless you are ok with your property getting damaged.Additionally:- My appointment time was at 8, but it took them till 11 to finish.-The cleaning crew showed up at ~10:30 and kicked everyone out of the waiting area while they cleaned, which caused an interruption as I was on a business call (2.5 hours past my appointment time).-The manager actually tried to squeeze me for money. First he asked what the regional manager quoted me for the work, I stated free, he then asked if I would pay $25 cause his guy needs to get paid, I then repeated that it should be free, at which point he said ok, if you give us a five star google review. I thought I was dealing with a professional business, but apparently not.

This is my second time here. First visit was for an oil change and now the yearly inspection and I have nothing but good things to say. Speedy service, friendly staff and great prices! Thank you so much for such great customer service!

They love to say that they put customers first... but they don't! It's a never ending revolving door of people and I haven't had a good experience here in a few years. Why do I keep going? The insurance I bought on the tires. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. If you're in a bind and need something fixed - DON'T GET THE INSURANCE it's their way of forcing you to come back so they can rip you off. Here's a list of things I learned over the 10+ years.1) they'll automatically charge you for synthetic oil. Even if the past 10 oil changes were regular oil - literally I go through this EVERY TIME.....it's like they're all being trained to take advantage of customers who don't realize2) they'll tell you the tire rotation is free but the majority of the time they don't do it. Make sure you stand up and watch them as they work3) they'll say there's no wait if you come right over and once you do you'll still wait 1.5 hr to be seen. "Oh we've had many walk-ins"4) they'll literally make an appointment for anytime you ask. And then when you show up yup, it's an 1.5 hr wait5) they'll say they have a part in stock but to them it means they'll get it sent over from the warehouse and surprise: 1.5 hr waitI wrote this while waiting for a simple oil change and rotation that took an 1.5 hr because they don't put their customers first. They let this truck load and unload and block my car from leavingEdit:6) the tire recycling fee is probably just a scam because they end up selling the tires to a tire shop that sells used tires????

Absolute terrible experience here.I visited this location and spoke to a man at the desk and told him I wanted New tires, breaks, break fluid flush, Rotors, alignment, new tires balanced, Tire pressure sensors and valve stems. I was quoted a price of $2,700 and I told them to proceed with the work. I left my truck there at 10:30 am and was told to return at 1. I returned at 1 and I had to wait an additional 4.5 hours (5:30 pm) to receive my truck back. All this extra time with my truck you would think they did a good job, Yeah right. I first saw my truck up on the lift with the running boards being crushed by the lift because the mechanics must have been too lazy to put risers on them (as seen in picture). Little to my surprise- This was the least of my problems. I paid the $2,700 and went home. The next day I did an inspection on the truck to see the work they performed. My TPS light was still on in my truck and I found that none of the TPS sensors or valve stems were changed, I also inspected the break fluid reservoir and it was black- new break fluid is clear. I also found one missing lug nut and multiple others that were loose. This is a major safety issue. I also found my tires to shake and vibrate at high speeds so I took a look, and the tire weights for my old wheels were still on, as well as they were covered with my old break dust. Brand new tire weights are silver. I was also charged for an alignment, but after the new wheels were mounted on my truck, the truck was lowered and driven off for a test drive . There was no alignment ($159.99) or balancing ($79.99) performed on the truck. When I brought the truck back I got told oh I guess the mechanics didn t do the tire pressure sensors , but they had no problem charging me the full $2,700 for the work that they completed . I have contacted the Better business bureau, my lawyer, as well as mavis customer service. If they did this to me, I worry about all the other customers who trust these thieves with your vehicles. Go to your local trusted mechanic even if it costs you a few dollars more.

DO NOT come here for tire services!! There s plenty of other places that are more professional, careful, and experienced. I thought it would be best to come here because it s a chain.. don t be fooled by this like I was. The staff are young and rude degenerates that spew nothing but false information about cars and tires.Despite the warning signs, I still went with them (they offer a discount if you leave a good review). When I came to pick up my car, my gear shift (PRINDL) was completely cracked!!!!!!! So much so that I cut my hand! My tire was also completely over pumped (43 rather than 32).I nicely approached the manager (Yaphet) about the PRINDL. He was dismissive, condescending, rude, and aggressive. He started yelling that it s impossible for him to break it and he s the only one with permission to drive luxury cars. Meanwhile, I personally witnessed other staff driving my car!! He refused to do anything to help.Honestly, I would have ignored this if he were nice about it. But the disgusting behavior of the manager combined with the lack of experience and overwhelming sloppiness, calls for far more than a bad review. Shame on this business!!!!!! Hire a new manager!!!!!

A few weeks back I stopped by Mavis and showed Angel my tire which was balded/ torn up. He gave me a quote on how much it was going to be, but I didn't take care of it ( due to laziness). This afternoon on the highway, i got a flat tire on that exact one. Luckily I had run flats so I drove it to Mavis. I saw Angel at the front desk and he remembered our exact conversation. Angel took care of it within an hour or so, and honored what he originally said would be the price. Most places would see that I was in desperate need of a tire, and charge me more due to it being an urgent matter. They are honest with their prices, and quick with their work. Saved me a HUGE headache. When you go in there, make sure you ask for Angel! Thank you to the rest of the team for assisting in the process. Like I said: Honest, Professional, Quick, and exceptional work.

BE AWARE OF ANGELO!!! Tried to double charge me for brakes, got them for half the price somewhere else. Offered me to replace pads as a warranty and a nice gesture charged me $300 for labor FYI pads were $400. I cant believe someone like this works at Mavis. BE CAREFUL!!! Go somewhere else.

Went in to plug a tire with a nail and was told the brake rotor needs to be replaced badly. They offered me a special price of $499 but I left to have another mechanics check it out. My rotor is perfectly fine! Never going back!

I came here because my front left tire kept loosing air. The car is older so the tire rim is corroding. I ended up installing tmps sensors on all four tires since my car did not have them. They placed glue on all four tires for free in return. I also filled power steering fluids and changed the rear breaks. They gave me break pads for free. They gave me about $200+ discount. I am very thankful to Yuphet the store manager. He answered all my questions carefully and was very patient.

I went to the Great Neck location to change my car battery during my lunch break, the employee named Justin told me I need new battery and new battery alternator, but I had to run back to work so I told him I will be back later, then Justin decided to charge me $160 for diagnosing my car!!! He also warned me: If I walked out there and my car dies, it is not their responsibility, my battery can die any second, and it is not on them! I felt so threaten as if they did something to my car, because my battery has been functioning fine, I am just doing preventive care for my car, how can it just die so fast? I was forced into changing a new battery there, with terrible customer service attitude, and the rest employees there were just watching TV....

This is a follow-up to my original review (below):I returned yesterday to ask how to release air from the 4 tires they sold me, since they may get over-inflated when air is added. I ve never had a problem letting air out of any other tires but I couldn t do it with these tires. There were three guys at the counter, all of them appeared to be in their 20s, who kept insisting that my tires were not over-inflated, and they didn t understand why I was asking the question. I tried over and over to explain that I just wanted someone to show me what to do if I should over-inflate while adding air in the future. No matter how many times I tried to rephrase the question they gave the same response there was nothing wrong with my tires while getting increasingly argumentative and patronizing. I felt as though I had entered the Twilight Zone. One of them finally seemed to grasp what I was asking and he told me the only way to let air out would be to use a special tool that they had in the shop. I told him it made no sense. After about 15 minutes an older mechanic who overheard what was going on took outside to my car and showed me how to deflate the tire, using my $5.00 air pressure gauge. Problem solved. It should be noted that there was no language barrier, so that wasn t the issue.I stand by my original post: Between over-selling and rude, incompetent service, I will never go to Mavis again. It is no longer the same shop, in every possible way. This is my original post from 2 months ago:I went in to have one leaky tire fixed/replaced. I walked out with 4 new tires and a new set of rotors and break pads. The price was good, but was any of it necessary? I'll never know, since I'm not a mechanic. What I do know is that after I left I discovered that two of the four tires had been inflated to 55 psi! The new air valves make it almost impossible to let out any excess air, so the mechanic either wasn t paying attention or he just gave up on it. After I get these issues resolved that's it. It s too bad-- I've been going to Mavis in Great Neck since I got my first car 40 years ago. Time to move on.I guess I'll have to find a new tire place.

Went to check my tire because it was low, they told me it had a nail and they fixed it, that I only needed to drive the car for the tire pressure to show normal on the dashboard (which was odd because the sensor immediately reads the right number) but I thought ok I guess and went out on my way. the tire pressure decreased as I drove, took it to another shop, they not only realized the tire was never fixed, because it was intact, no marks of anything done to it or ever having a nail. It only needed air. So Mavis robbed me 30 dollars and didn t even bother to put air in the tire

My real honest review this place is a SCAM!!! I went to go get my car yearly inspection and they called to say that in order to complete my inspection I had to change my brakes, which would cost close to $750, on top of the $35 inspection fee. When I said that I did not want to change it, I of course failed the inspection. THE CHERRY ON TOP!! When I got my car back, the drivers side was covered in random grease stains that the mechanic had purposely smeared over my steering wheels, gear shifts, door, and some of the buttons (AC, emergency light, etc). I have never had a mechanic leave grease stains like this is any situation that was dealing with my car!! I just left and went to another mechanic and they said that my brakes were in good condition, and that I only had to clean something very small, which cost $45. I don t have many photos as I was so shocked and my initial reaction was to clean the car as much as I could first, but these are some spots that I took after I realized I should take picture proofs. DO NOT GO HERE!!

I have been using this Mavis location (at 200 Northern Blvd. in Great Neck since 2007). They have done a lot of various work on two cars for me over that time, but today they went above and beyond even more than in the past.I was prepared to drop my car off for a tire rotation on my lunch hour and to pick it up after I was done working before Mavis closed at the end of its day, but my car was instead immediately taken in for service. I was told the tire rotation would take 15 minutes. It took about 10. Matt, at the desk, was very helpful and courteous. I was not charged for the tire rotation and at my request, Matt immediately measured the tread depth on all of my tires before discussing options for new tires since my tread was very low on three of the tires. This was all very helpful. I was able to return home with my car before my lunch hour was over without having to leave the car and coming back for it. Thank you, Great Neck Mavis!

Initial experience was poor; had to wait way longer than I was told to get tire changed (30-45 minutes turned into 2.5 hours), they didn t have tires in stock after their inventory program incorrectly reported availability twice. Had to go back to get issues resolved, luckily Yafet was there the second day I returned. He was extremely understanding and helpful. Addressed all the issues from a fair perspective and, after many issues with my tires, I am happy to say my car is driving smooth again. Overall quality tire shop, gets busy but they have a decent amount of employees and seems like they try to do their best for customers.
