Shady, unregistered auto repair shop that will hold your car hostage while they make up prices that fluctuate depending on their mood. I paid over $1150 for my $800 invoice to have my brakes, rotors & bearings repaired/replaced just so I could get my car out of there. Juan installed used rotors on my vehicle & did not install my brakes properly. He informed me that I needed to replace my brand new battery & when I tried to bring my battery to Wal-Mart for warranty replacement, I was told the battery serial # did not match the battery from my reciept. So Juan stole my battery & put a 4 year old battery of the same brand in it's place. I had to go to a NYS Registered Mechanic to correct the issues with my brakes in order to pass inspection. The registered mechanic also pointed out that parts had been removed from my vehicle. The top review here is the owner using the alias Jey Rodriguez. J.L. CUSTOM AUTO REPAIR CENTER INC. is registered as a Domestic Business Corporation (DOS ID 5052445) under Juan Rodriguez. However, J.L. CUSTOM AUTO REPAIR CENTER INC.is NOT registered with NYS DMV as an Auto Repair Facility, which is required in NYS. Motor Vehicle Repair Shops are required to register with the DMV to perform mechanical and/or body repairs, repair or diagnose motor vehicle malfunctions and/or repair motor vehicle bodies, perform repairs at a location provided by a consumer. If you are a victim of Juan Rodriguez, I suggest you file form VS35 with NYS DMV (Just search google for "NYS DMV VS35") & also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Owner was brought to a networking group as a visitor. Was thankful at first as he was supposed to have a great and reliable accord for sale. Within 2 months of buying the car I was pulled over and advised the inspection sticker was pulled from another vehicle. (Ramon made it clear upon purchase the inspection was good til July). Upon trying to take it to have it inspected (even though the owner Juan/Ramon - this is probably why he uses 2 different names) I m advised the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BULB was taken out to cover up the 6 codes the car was throwing. Upon bringing it back to JL hoping somehow there was a decent bone is Ramon s body, he told me not to worry he d take a look. When my vehicle was returned to me it now had a bulb so the check engine light was on and he removed the inspection sticker completely. This is when I found out he is not an inspection site, nor registered as a legal business or with the DMV. Obviously the sticker was from a vehicle registered to him or he wouldn t have found it necessary to leave me with no sticker and a parts car. Shame on him and luckily he has been reported an investigation and audits of the business are slowly but surely under way. Stay away from this place, it will only cost you time and money.

Broke down and Jey towed my car. He charged me more for the tow than he originally said he was going to charge & his estimate was very expensive for the repairs. So I got my car towed to a real shop & it turned out it was only my fuel filter that needed to be replaced, not the $930.00 in repairs Jey quoted.

Horrible experience, unregistered mechanic/repair shop. BEWARE OF THIS FRAUDULENT BUSINESS! Also, please keep in mind that the 5 star review by "jey" on google is actually the owner of the business, so his review is just to boost his own rating. Seriously... Don't deal with this scumbag.
