Stopped by with our car without an appointment. Our serpentine belt had broke. They were able to look at it, and fixed it within a few hours. They were very friendly, professional, and reasonable price repair. Would go there again.

Quoted me 1000 dollars for rear brake job! Took advantage because my wife dropped off our vehicle. They said we need Rotors, pads, calipers replaced in rear.Got it done at another shop, only fixed what I needed done (1 caliper and pads) and it only cost me 184 dollars.Seems that M&R oversells jobs to make more money instead of being honest.

Was able to schedule an appointment within the week for an inspection. They had it done within 30 minutes - the plaza area was a great way to kill time while they did their thing. Will be a returning customer! Thanks again guys!

These guys were great from the towing to the service on my sons vehicle. He was broken down an hour away from home, and they took good care of the situation.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

Giving three stars, subject to change. Had my car towed by Jason today, a tow truck operator from M&R. He was pleasant at first and communicated well, that is until he was unloading my car from his flatbed, where he ended up crushing the front bumper as he lowered it. While it was happening, as I stood and watched my bumper getting crushed, Jason was scurrying around, cussing and trying to find a solution, but nothing worked, so he just lowered the car and let the bumper crunch until the car dropped about 8" to the ground. He immediately went over to the bumper and tried to push it back into place, saying "See, it'll snap back in", but it was beyond that. When it was being crushed it was pushed up above the headlight. It's just flopping around now. In addition, he was so flustered that he just gave up and left the nose of the car protruding into the road, and when I asked him to help me push it out of the road, he refused, saying "I'm not going to touch it again". Really?! Wow. That's a new one to me. I mean, isn't it his job to get cars out of the street, not drop them into the street? When I asked him how long he'd been doing his job, he seemed indignant, and said he'd been doing it a couple of years. From that point on, he got very defensive and seemed to be in denial that it was in any way his fault. Then he started taking pictures, all over the car, as if something happened anywhere else, but none of the bumper as it was being crushed. Only I have those. I was justifiably upset about the whole thing, not just about the damage but also about his response and attitude, but apparently he didn't think my being upset was justified, and I was told that he didn't like MY attitude. All I could say to that was "C'mon, man, really? MY attitude?" All he said, with a fake grin on his face, was "Have a nice day" and as I was saying "That's it? You're really going to leave it in the road?," he intentionally talked over me, saying "Have a nice day" again but loud enough to drown out what I was saying as he walked away and shut the door to his truck. Pretty bad experience overall. I have no reason to otherwise complain about M&R, they're local, they have a clean, modern shop, my mom used them for years and trusted them, and they're otherwise respectable, courteous and professional. Not this time. Jason dropped the ball and doesn't seem to want to own it. I've contacted my insurance company as the tow was covered by them. I'm curious what the overall response and outcome will be. I'll be back to update either way.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. About a month ago I was experiencing fuel issues with my truck. I had it towed to this shop and it was an absolute nightmare dealing with this place. First they told me it was a fuel pump control module so they replaced it. It took almost 2 weeks for them to replace it, 3 of those days I waited for them just to program the new module which should take maybe an hour. Then I left, drove around for an hour and it broke down again with the same issue. they picked it up took it back to their shop and they found a bad connection in a wire in the fuel pump control module circuit. At this point I had given them about $1,250. I drove it for 4 days and it broke down again with the same issues. I called them and they told me they might fix it for free which is understandable if the issue isn t related to their work (it was related to the work they had done). I decided to take it to the dealer instead the dealer charged me $600 and found 4 bad connectors in the same exact circuit m&r had already fixed . They were lazy and neglectful and after paying them all that money they didn t fix the issue they should ve fixed. So my truck broke down twice after leaving their shop and they charged $1,250. When the dealer charged half as much to actually fix the problem. Then when I tried to dispute the bill with one of the employees and the owner (mark) they actually had the audacity to say I didn t give them a chance. Do not take your vehicle here they are not honest people and will screw you over.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Excellent costomer service. They were able to work with me for as little as an inspection which they make little to no money on.

Through AAA, I had my car towed to M&R on a Sunday and they were able to fix the problem promptly on Monday morning and help us get on our way. The work was high quality at a fair price. Highly recommend Mark and team at M&R.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

We had an issue with one of our air suspension shocks the day before we were going on vacation. M & R was the only place we called that told us to bring it over and that they would at least look at it same day. They looked it over right away and luckily it didn't require having to ordering any parts. They had it fixed, calibrated and ready to go by the end of the day at a reasonable price.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I had signed up for a on-line appointment for NYS Inspection as had my front brakes done by this business about a month ago. Apparently on-line appointments are new and they were having some communication issues about appointment times, but they fit me right in and I got my van inspected while I waited. They were courteous and great to deal with. Will continue to bring my auto repair business to them!Service: Brakes

These guys are very easy to work with and always accommodate me as best as they can! They always address me by my name, which I never experience at other shops. I never feel taken advantage of or belittled- also not common in mechanic shops. They're a little pricey, but they get the job done in a timely fashion and they get it right the first time. Will always recommend. Thanks for the good service, guys! And thank you for always being honest and down to earth!

My daughter goes to the University and car failed to start after multiple jumpstarts, had it towed to M&R, talked to them over the phone with the issues, looked at it next day decided it was just a bad battery, let it sit overnight to make sure for my daughter s safety. Reasonable price and very kind and courteous to my daughter when she picked it up.Service: Battery

These guys are awesome! I am a travel nurse and in the Navy. That being said, I have been to a couple of places around the country and I can say without a doubt that the folks at M & R are the ones that I trust my car with completely...and I am very picky as to where I take my car. They are very thorough at making sure my car is in top condition, courteous, treat my family and I with respect (even though I am a girl...and yes, I have been treated at other places like I don't know anything about cars) and always find the best deal for me. I cannot speak highly enough about the folks here and the services they have provided. Thank you so much for everything...you guys rock!

FYI Check Your Bill. They are AAA service providers. On a AAA call, I bought a battery for $152.00 plus tax. They then charged 5% EXTRA for "running a card". They don't accept checks, only cash. I was told by "Curt" They charge everyone the same.....they had to. No one else; Gas stations, stores, medical or online sales does that. If your bill is in the thousands, 5% on top of cost AND tax will be significant (unless you have thousands in cash laying around when your car dies) FYIService: General repairs & maintenance

Great service at a fair price! I came in thinking that I needed more done and they showed me that it wasn't as bad as I thought. While I was at it I had them do a tire changeover and a tune up with new plugs and wires. They even fixed a Heatshield underneath the car. I couldn't have been more pleased. I also needed a broken driver's side mirror fixed and they coordinated with Geneseo Collision to take care of that separately all while I was 300 miles away in Lake George at my home. This was all done for my son's Scion XB. MY son is almost done with his 2nd year of college at SUNY Geneseo. 2 more years for him and than my 16 year old is planning on attending there as well so we will be loyal customers for at least another 6 years. Thank you M&R for your outstanding professionalism and exceptional customer service!

I have used M and R for years I like the fact that Courtney and the Crew have been there for many years, they know me and my vehicle. I am always treated with respect and I trust them to do what is needed to keep my car safe. They fixed my exhaust with a custom fabrication instead of me having to buy the whole piping unit to fix a small leak. Just as there are negative reviews in this world there are also positive. This is one for the positive side.

During the wind storm this past winter 2017 that knocked a bunch of debris onto the road, I got a flat tire. I called AAA and these guys came to tow my car. They told me after looking it over it was because the seal to the tire was not tight due to rust. They said they got it sealed again and called me, I came to pick it up and a few hours later it had deflated again. I was charged for this still even after it had not been fixed. I wanted to at least give them the benefit of the doubt and give them some business, I needed an oil change and a few new sparkplugs, all I got was a $5 off repeat customer credit, no compensation for not fixing my tire the first time, (and I am not even sure they replaced all the plugs) as I just said screw it put the spare on. They charged me for not even fixing the issue. When I was able to go back to my hometown with the tire, my mechanic there saw straight away there was a roofing nail (huge nail) through the tire, and said he didn't know how they missed it or resealed as the tire looked largely untouched. These guys did however try to get me to buy a new set of rims (these were my winter rims, rusty but never had an issue until the nail went through them with the seal) Overall, I did not enjoy my experience, I feel like there prices were at least 15-20% higher than most shops I have had experience with. To top this off, the day I picked up my car, my friend's battery on his car died and since he had been giving me rides while mine was in the shop, I used a AAA call for him, which I have done in the past. Even told AAA directly I was with my friend's car. They were really grumpy and stated "YOU KNOW THIS IS USING ONE OF YOUR CALLS RIGHT?" Guy came initially was nice (when i had a flat the first time in the am) but the older gentleman was rude and kept ignoring what we were telling him, stating we needed to remember batteries for a key fob so this didn't happen (not the issue). Even though the car battery was dead. When he came to help my friend out he couldn't even get in the car with all his tools and was just like "gotta break the glass, you can do it but I won't." (I'm sure to avoid having to pay for it or something along those lines) The apartment complex manager for Ambassador Apartments ended up getting us in to his car by getting under the hood and getting the door unlocked after giving the battery some juice (only helpful thing the guy had on him was the battery charger, but i did have cables). Total waste of a call.

As I was leaving to return to NYC, found my car wouldn't start. Towed to M&R, they diagnosed the problem - needed a part and installation. Discussed the wisdom of waiting until I got home, but it was clear that I'd have trouble making it.They had me out in a couple of hours, and while they charged more than my mechanic at home would have, they were certainly fair and within reason. And two days later they called me to check if I got home ok.Five stars for the service (minus one for the price)

Car was brought in for routine service referred to as regular oil change and inspection. The battery was not registering as fully charged. Review showed alternator working properly and battery over 5 years old not holding charge. A new battery was recommended via telephone call, ordered and installed the same visit in very little additional time. M

I just recently moved to Geneseo about a year ago. Everyone i work with at Wegmans say M&R was the place to go for all of my automotive work. I have brought both mine and my wifes vehicle's there multiple times for Oil changes, Inspections, snow tires, A/C checks, etc. They have Excellent customer service, they explain to me what i need, not what i should do. Prices are great compared to the dealerships, and you get quality work with qualified mechanics in a prompt and courteous manner. The next time you need a Excellent Auto repair facility call M&R Automotive Service Center and ask for Courtney. He's the Best. Justin and Erika Guetti.

Had a tire blow out late at night and was on the side of a busy road. They worked quickly with my insurance company to get out to me. They helped me get the tire (that was on there good) off the car, offered some advice on how to keep it from rusting to the car, and got me back on my way with my spare. They even advised me to get a new tire as this one had been damaged a bit from it going flat beyond what a patch could repair. Thank you for your help!
