The reviews are true about this place. We needed a second opinion after the dealer told us the transmission was shot and needed to be replaced to the tune of $5k. ABC did a thorough review of the vehicle and found the root cause was that the spark plugs and ignition coils needed to be replaced. They explained everything clearly and the car has been running great ever since. They were also very helpful in explaining what was likely happening to cause the transmission to behave in the way that it did and how that tied back to the spark plug issue.

Recommended by a relative. Quote was significantly less than another local repair shop for the same level of transmission swap. Definitely worth going here for transmission work.

Al, Debbie and their amazing staff brought my jeep back from the dead. They even beautifully handled the addition of specialty tires and unforeseen complications like it was nothing. They are completely professional and reasonably priced. Al and the guys at ABC are awesome! Extremely honest and extremely helpful!! I have been using them for all my repairs for years, my entire family uses them! I have had trans repairs, motor work and drive train work done on all of my work vehicles! They have even stayed late after hours to make sure my truck was ready for work the next morning! We refuse to use anyone else and risk being taken advantage of or getting subpar work! ABC has the highest quality workmanship, top tier customer service and they are as honest as the day is long! Only reason I am rating 5 stars is because 10 isn t an option! Absolutely an amazing car repair shop! Took my mini van to another shop and they kept telling me nothing was wrong with my van. Al took the time to listen to me about my concern with my vehicle. He called me back with updates on what needed to be fixed and prices of parts. Absolutely amazing customer services. Al was very honest and his team was able to get my car done sooner then expected. Excellent service station. Al is awesome. I trust them 100%. If he says you need it, you do. As a woman, I always feel informed and confident in their service. They explain everything you want to know. I highly recommend Al and his team. My household has been happily patronizing ABC for over 7 years (we have 5 vehicles including an F350 work truck). I send all my friends and family to Al and his team. They are the best!

I had an appointment set up because I assumed it was my transmission. The owner test drove my vehicle and placed it on the computer. He said it appeared to be something electronic in the motor sending the signal to the transmission and not the transmission itself. He was very open and suggested I bring it to a dodge dealership to have them further diagnose. He as well said he would keep my appointment for my later date just in case I needed it and asked me to call him if I didn t. He did not charge for the diagnostic. This is how you establish relationships. I highly recommend using ABC.

Al is my new old friend. He diagnosed a problem while walking to look at the car. He is a wealth of information regarding cars in general. He pulled no punches and took care of the of the issue at hand quickly and without breaking the bank.Recently took our car in for routine transmission maintenance per the manufacturer. Thanks to Al for getting me in so quickly, and as always, the problem was diagnosed and resolved accurately and in a thorough manner. Also, while working on our specific problem, the mechanic made recommendations regarding additional services, not transmission-related, that may be due for my vehicle. Honest work, honest prices. The transmission on my pickup was bucking and shuddering; they were aware of this issue and the manufacturer's recommendation to change the factory fluid (Dextron) to Mobile1. While vacationing in Lake George my reverse blew. My truck was towed to ABC transmission where Al gave it a road test and confirmed what my mechanic back home --200 miles away-- had told me. Al did not charge me for his service to look my truck over and he confirmed I would be safe to drive home. He is an honest, trustworthy, and knowledgeable man. He took time out of his busy schedule to fit me in last minute and made sure my safety came first. Fabulous customer service! Thank you!

My Transmission on my Dodge Ram crapped out on me. Al diagnosed the problem within a few minutes. I needed a replacement or a rebuild. I had one shipped in to him first thing on a Monday morning. I picked up my truck that afternoon. All is good now. Truck runs great!!! Thanks Al !!! You are a wizard and the best. You have my business and anyone who asks me who I would recomend. A+++ in my book!!!

*****Review Update: Your response to my review is very telling. You have clearly done this to other customers because you have me confused with another party you just admitted doing this to!! I guess I was not the only customer who complained about suspicious behaviorYou said my truck had the wrong everything & you didn t want to fix it? I DON T EVEN OWN A TRUCK!!I have a completely different vehicle, so obviously I wasn t the only person you did this to. I have a bad feeling the reason you rushed me out is because you did something to my car that made it worse & when I can prove it, I will let you know.My original post: Very odd experience, wanted to get my Transmission fixed but they decided my car wasn't worth it because other things in my car needed to be fixed. Things that had NOTHING to do with the Transmission. Who are they to decide if i should get my car fixed or not? This car had sentimental value to me. Very weird that they decided for me that i shouldn't do it. Makes me wonder what they did to my car while it was there, the fact they wanted it out of the shop so fast. Very weird people

We had transmission problems while traveling to the Adirondack's from St. Louis, Mo. We had the most fortunate chance of finding Al on the Internet. Al was a straight-shooter and let us know the problem and he fought to get the price of the part we needed at a much better price that what he was initially quoted. He and his guys provided us with super fast and wonderful service! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

I keep my cars and trucks past 300,000 miles, so having a place like ABC is absolutely necessary. I'm picky and I like my cars to be 100% repaired right and reliable even if they are old. Al and his guys can fix just about anything, and they'll tell you when it's not worth it anymore. The quality of work is better than dealerships I've been to and the cost is lower.This operation is family run, so it's no surprise that they treat you like family. First thing you should know is that they are transmission experts, but they do all types of repairs! I've had ABC rebuild transmissions in 3 different cars, and I'm really happy with the work! The transmission Al built for my Taurus and Civic have lasted longer than the original. I have no doubt the transmission I just had done in my Crown Vic will do the same.When I thought the transmission in my F250 was shot, he was able to service it and it's still working great. He could have sold me a new transmission that day, but he was honest and fair.Al and his guys have fixed everything on my cars and trucks, from check engine light issues to electrical problems and wheel bearings and chassis parts. I use them for fluid changes and other maintenance items.Al & Debbie are there every day, and they know who you are and what you drive. It's so nice to be able to have a face to face conversation about what my truck or car needs and have all the options.Recently, Al recommended I buy used parts for a really old truck I had, and it saved me a bundle of money. He got them from a salvage yard in Texas, and they were rust free fixed the issue with the truck like it was new. That's the type of out of the box thinking that sets this shop apart from the others.I can't recommend ABC Transmission enough.

As others have noted, Al and his team are not here to take advantage of you. I brought a vehicle in convinced it needed a new transmission, Al showed me it didn't. Although they have not been able to nail down my intermittent electrical issue, they have also had a very practical approach, keeping my schedule and budget in mind. I have no reservations going back to ABC transmissions.If only Al did home improvement too.. :-)

Diagnosis is everything, and that's the first thing that Al and his crew got right. In the end, ABC saved me $900 (my usual service folks misdiagnosed my car as needing a new clutch - Al knew better). Problem solved by ABC, great work, and a great experience. Thank you!

Never had an issue with them. Al is great to work with and very knowledgeable. They are very fair and I have never had an issue with anything they fixed. Sent my father and sister there for there cars and same experience for them. Great shop!

Best shop around! They are fast, trustworthy and reasonable. They repaired a break job that was done incorrectly at another shop and showed us everything. Now I can rest assured my son is driving a car that has been fixed correctly!
