I grew up in Fairport and was in town visiting my family when my car inspection was about to run out. Rytek took time out of their busy day to make sure I was inspected on time. They also showed me a pretty serious repair I needed but said I could wait til I got to my mechanic, so weren't trying to sell me anything. Highly recommend.

I had a very good experience getting my car serviced at Rytek Auto. My car needed some repairs that I was no loner able to ignore and needed fixed asap. After being told by a different shop that they wouldn't have any appointments available until later in the week, I called Rytek and they were able to get me in the next day. Jim was very detailed in explaining the issues that needed attention and about the price breakdown. I also appreciated how he sent me a text listing out all of those details as well. I will be going back in the future!

Two generations of my family have used Rytek for car maintenance and repairs, and both generations have been very happy with their high quality of work! We trust Rytek to give us proper evaluations of our vehicles problems, and fair rates. They have always delivered. Rytek used to be the best place in Fairport to get your car worked on, but not anymore! Now they over charge and lie!I referred a friend/employee to Rytek for a wheel bearing replacement, inspection and good look-over on his 2014 Subaru Forester. An hour and a half after drop-off he received a text Good morning (name disclosed). Joe from Rytek. After looking at your vehicle, we noticed a few things. Left rear bearing is definitely loud. The right rear may have some noise as well, but cannot tell for sure till left rear is done. To do that bearing parts and labor, cost would be with tax, 771.27. Rear brakes morning specifically left rear outside pad is very low. Not sure if the pads are stuck in caliper or if caliper is bad. For the rear brakes, (pads and rotors) cost for that service is, with tax, 583.20. NYS inspection was due 6 months ago. For that it would need a right front control arm because bushings are pulling out and it has a bad ball joint. To do that part, parts, labor, and tax would be 752.82. Lastly, air filter is very dirty. For that, 51.84. Just let us know what you would like to do. Thanks, Joe. After seeing this, I immediately told my friend to have them drop it off the lift and tell them to have a good day. Those prices are plain robbery! To not get into too much detail about what labor and parts cost I implore you to always do your own research based on your vehicle. That is like 300X over MSRP for parts in this case including their estimated labor time.We called around to a few more shops to get pricing on just the control arm replacement to pass inspection. Would you believe that 2-3 other shops quoted $300-400 less than Rytek? We got a quote from Elmer s for $380. After taking it to Elmer s, they looked and found out that there was no need for a replacement control arm and ONLY the ball joint was bad. They also checked the brakes and they were not bad either! Yes, the wheel bearing was bad which was why he went there in the first place and now I will be taking care of that myself.In the end, we went from $2107.29 at Rytek to $230 at Elmer s, plus a $100 wheel bearing from rock auto and some beers.Rytek has gone from being outstanding and honestly priced to happy smile and take you for a run, hoping you don t know anything about the cost of labor, time, price of parts or cars in general. I do NOT recommend Rytek after this experience, and I hope others do their research before just saying yes because its already at the shop .Service: General repairs & maintenance

This is hands down the best auto repair garage in Rochester! They will have your car running perfect and they are 100% fair. I swear you bring your car here, it will run like new. They are the best. They've been reasonable, charging me fairly, trying to save me money and convince me NOT to do work rather than trying to overcharge me and truck me into doing more. Been trusting them since January 2018 and have yet to be disappointed.

New to Fairport, and nearly an hr away now from my go-to mechanic, I was looking for someone reputable and affordable. Rytek was everything I needed and more! They were flexible with fitting me in last minute, personable and transparent. I've never had someone walk through an inspection with me as thorough as they did. They suggested repairs for the future, but didn't pressure me into getting them fixed right away. Great first experience! Highly recommended.

I went to Rytek after i couldn t believe what the dealer was quoting me for repairs. I had an awesome experience with Rytek Auto. They diagnosed the problem, and made the repairs in a prompt and courteous manner. Affordable and professional. Even told me I didn t need a repair that the dealer tried to gouge me for $1,700 for. I ve been going to Rytek auto for years. They re always respectful, courteous, trustworthy, and convenient. I ve always been happy with their work. They always answer all my questions . The Rytek team explains and prioritizes what needs to be done so I can make the best decisions.You can make appointments via email and they have reminder texts. Coupons for routine work come often as well. So thankful for a great mechanic that has such integrity!

We have been using Rytek for many years for basic oil changes, regular maintenance etc. But this time we had to take my daughter s 2009 Kia Rio5 that she has only had for 45 days that had a check engine light on. Turns out the engine was full of sludge due to lack of maintenance from the previous owner. It was the worst they had ever seen. They accepted the challenge and cleaned out the sludge and got Miss Kia (as my daughter calls it) back up and running. They were so kind and caring, knowing that it was her first car. They explained everything in detail and really made her feel good about the service and what to expect next. Thank you Joe and Jamie, you have earned a new customer (my daughter) for life!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Catalytic converter thefts are still happening in our area. Rytek just installed a cat shield on my 2015 Prius. No rattles, and no more worries about leaving it parked overnight. Excellent experience. Jim was very friendly and informative, and wore his mask whenever he was nearby. I took my car in for an inspection, and mentioned another maintenance concern which the dealer had charged over $1000 to fix on one side. They put it up on the lift and showed me exactly what was going on, and later quoted a bit over $400 to finish the job. I expect to return to Rytek in the future.

Great Auto service and trustworthy people. Post Script: This is one year later and today I got a card in the mail thanking me for being a Rytek customer and inside was a Starbucks gift card. Who does that these days? What impressed me is the card was hand written. Someone at Rytek actually took time to put pen to paper to say thanks for my business. If you read the Google reviews, they are pretty much what I say about these folks - great mechanics, fair price, nice people. There will always be an odd one here and there that for whatever reason didn't give Rytek the same vote of confidence I gladly do, but no one dealing with the public pleases everyone all the time. All I can say is I feel safe when they fix my vehicle because it's done right, their prices are fair and last but not least - they say what they do and do what they say. I'm one tough guy to please and I'm pleased. Thanks!

The RYTEK team is friendly, professional, highly skilled, affordable, and incredibly honest. My family has been using them since they first opened up shop and I wouldn t go anywhere else. If they say that your car needs a certain part/repair, you can trust that it needs to be done. The people are very friendly and so helpful! They are very honest with you about everything up front. They are extremely reasonable, only charged me $22 to put all my snow tires on and Munro muffler wanted to charge me $80 to do the same job. They are quick, efficient, and do great work. 10/10 would recommend taking your business here!!

I recently relocated to Rochester and I searched for a good auto repair shop that was run like the one I patronized for years back in Pittsburgh. I got a recommendation for Rytek and now a year later, I'm please to write an honest review attesting to their quality workmanship and honestly. Each time I've had my car there for routine maintenance and unexpected repairs, I've been treated kindly and professionally. These folks will do you and your vehicle the right way, every time with no fear of being ripped off or lied to as is common at some of the better known chain shops. If you are looking for an A #1 place to take your car or truck, look no further and that's coming from a guy that does not trust auto repair shops!

Have been bringing all my vehicles there for over 10 years. They have helped me and my whole family more than once to get our cars fixed quickly and back on the road. The are honest with what does and does not need to be done, fair and most importantly super friendly. Have recommended them multiple times to family and friends.

Our family (husband, wife, three kids, all with cars) has relied on Rytek for many years and found them to be excellent. I'm fairly knowledgeable about cars, having worked on my own cars for several years. But without the time or inclination to continue working on cars, I have used them for a wide range of vehicle repairs. They have never recommended unnecessary repairs and all service has been very good, completed in a timely fashion. They offer great coupons for standard work such as oil changes. I also go to them for tire purchases because their tire prices are very competitive and they listen carefully to my price range and driving needs to pick the best tires for me. I highly recommend Rytek based on about 20 years of history with them.

Rytec was highly recommended by a coworker so I gave them a shot. The communication was top notch. They looked over the car while there and made some recommendations on some past due maintenance all which were spot on. I do tend to do the light maintenance myself, so I know that they were honest with me. They also informed me about the upcoming manufactures recommended maintenance all of which was accurate, and no extra. They gladly fixed what I brought it in for and were not pushy about the maintenance work. The work they did looks nice and clean and the price seemed very fair.

Appreciate the ability to schedule an oil change knowing that they are ready when I arrive. Office staff are friendly an informative. Great coupon availability. I ve never had a bad experience. They offer loaner vehicles at no charge other than replacing the fuel that you use.

Great service.Great communication.Very honest.Very professional.I come from a family of mechanics and have dealt with many different automotive repair shops, and Rytek is at the top of the list in my book. I had somewhat of a "unique" problem with my vehicle and the mechanics at Rytek made sure they found the cause of the problem so that they could fix it the first time, instead of just trying different things, hoping they would fix it.From what I can tell, they "do it right the first time".Thanks again!

I highly recommend Rytek. I've been taking my cars to Jim and the gang at Rytek for probably about 10 years now and I find these guys to be highly trustworthy and very professional. They don't push you to do unnecessary work on your car, and the work that they do is always done right. These guys sincerely care about others, and I know about times in the past where they have volunteered their time and expertise to help out those in need. I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else.

I have taken my Silverado to have general service and inspections done in the past but will not be returning. I always leave with a laundry list of "to-dos" that are well over $1500 total each. I asked them to check my rear drums to see if they would pass inspection, they noted that they were extremely low and I should also consider replacing the rear axle seals quoted between $700-900 (along with multiple other things I should consider repairing). I had the inspection done elsewhere without any issues. Avoid Rytek unless you want costly repairs that are not necessary.Also, Jim, you will not find this name in your system because I do not want to be contacted by you or any of your staff.

I found this hidden away gem through a referral from my father in law, a car guy who can fix anything himself. They got us in quickly once we could get the car towed and did an estimate.Great service and got the work (replacing all brake lines) done quickly despite the holidays. BTW - The estimate came with suggestions of things that could or should be done, and things that can wait a there way it should be. It wasn't like a dealership where they tell you the whole car needs to be replaced. Final price was on low end of estimate and was lower than online estimates despite them also replacing a battery, adding some fluids and some other minor work.We found our new trusted garage!
