I took my car in for an oil change and was I in and out in under an hour. They checked my battery and rotated my tires as well as filled them with air. The gentleman at the desk was quite helpful. I always have a great experience here.

Eric is the best I was told by another mechanic I had many things wrong with my ford escape and Eric found nothing wrong with my car thank god for Eric. He stop the other mechanic from robbing me blind

The customer service that Shane R gave me was incredible he was professional and Patience with me I went to the Pep Boys in Elmont,NY because I needed to replace the terminal cable and I needed a new Battery the service took about an hour the mechanic was polite. I will be going back to have my Air filters done

I always bring my cars to this pep boys location because I trust they are doing good work. I like that I get updates and notifications on my phone. I get a report and explanation of what is being done to my car. They have videos that explain what and why something is being fixed or replaced. They are always helpful when I go and answer all my questions. My car is usually done the same day I bring it.

I brought my vehicle in to get a state inspection completed. I was told the price and the keys were taken by Jaime, who completed the inspection. I came in without an appointment so I was prepared to wait. Arrived around 11:30. Around 12:45 was called back and shown one of my tires and told there was a hole in it, and it needed to be replaced. Informed them that it was not brought in like that and they insisted it was like that. The hole was clearly a puncture, and the vehicle could not drive with a hole like it without damaging the rim, which was not damaged. Jaime clearly messed up. Asked if they could repair it, and was told it needs to be replaced (which clearly indicates that it could not be driven on). Told them I am not paying for a tire because I did not bring it in like that. Shawn responded they will give me a tire, but it will not be a Bridgestone tire like the one that was popped. As I needed a tire, I asked if they could use the extended tire warranty that I have on the vehicle to get a new tire like the damaged one, to which he responded Pep Boys does not take third party warranties, so they put a Kelly tire on my car. A mechanic even had the audacity to say they would recommend an alignment, as if I want them doing any more than they absolutely needed to. At around 1:20 an employee came to get me because my car was ready. I noted the employee did not ask me to leave a review as they had done the last time I was there getting an inspection last year.I returned with my husband a short while later, and he requested the manager, who turned out to be Shawn, the employee with whom I had interacted earlier. As soon as my husband asked for a replacement Bridgestone tire, Shawn agreed that they would get one, and was now willing to take the third-party warranty which he explicitly told me Pep Boys does not take not even two hours earlier. My husband was not willing to use the warranty as they had caused the problem. After referring to my husband multiple times as sir Shawn agreed to get us a new Bridgestone tire, the same as the damaged tire. He also acknowledged that the tire was damaged on the lift by Pep Boys mechanic. I suspect the difference in Shawn s response has to be because a man was talking to him, so we can also add that Pep Boys employees discriminate by gender.Of note, while I waited I overheard one male customer being strongly encouraged to buy a new battery, one female customer had to come back in because they did not leave her wheel lock in the vehicle where they found it and she had to ask for it multiple times while employees acted as though she was making this up, and one female customer left angrily because of the way an employee spoke to her. Will not ever be returning to a Pep Boys shop.

This place does not even deserve a 1 star. It is one of the worst places I have visited for car service. I received a failed inspection due to a scratch on my tire. The mechanic told me to come back the same day if I got the tire fix. I have called out of work to handle this before my inspection expires in a few days and was told that he would not be able to service me due to too many cars that he has to handle. There is no consideration in this business or sympathy. I have lost of day of work because I was told by him to return the same day. To be told otherwise was of shock to me. The receptionist (male) didn't have a care about what I had been told. Like a robot, all he kept repeating was that he won't be able to schedule me in. I will never visit any pep boy location due to this horrible experience.

Visited the Elmont location, no wait time for my appointment.The reps and technician took in my car and it was completedon time. Kept me informed by text how the work was being completed. Excellent customer services.

Good day to all. I came to the Pep Boys on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont with 5 inquiries. Shane managed to promptly find a solution to all five under 10 mins, and saved me $25. For your auto inquiries, I d recommend this location. Also if Shane is working, ask for his assistance.

I brought my 2019 Honda Civic in on Saturday, 2/17/24, because my car was very difficult to start and I thought it was my battery.I was told that there was a $17.00 fee to check the battery level. I was told that this was company policy but I find that to be ridiculous -- just another way to make more money.I did have the battery replaced because I did not want to get stuck somewhere with a low battery. The price of the battery was very expensive. I would have thought that since I had the battery replaced that Pep Boys would have waived the $17.00 fee but they did not.I am very sorry to say that I will NEVER go back there and I will recommend my family and friends not to go there either

Horrible repair service!! I recently did a tire installation/ rotation and one of my back tires almost came off while I was driving today because all of the bolts weren't properly tighten and one of the studs broke off as shown in the picture below. I'm so upset because this could have ended badly on the highway and thats endangering my safety. You guys have to do better! stay away from this location.

Attention, don't go to pep-boys. Spend the few extra dollars and go to Costco or BJs tire center.Monday, 12-February I purchased 4 new tires and had them mounted. Early Tuesday morning, the left rear tire was completely flat! No, I didn't run over a nail, the "tire tech" made a dangerous and careless mistake with the valve!Ok, so I call Pepboys and speak to the service department. The moment I begin to explain the issue, he hangs up the telephone cutting me off. I had my vehicle towed (I'm not changing tires of an SUV at my senior age now).Any normal business would immediately partially refund or at the very least provide the tow. Of course, pep-boys didn't.Saving a few dollars isn't worth it. Just go to Costco/BJ's or sears if they're still around. Theses minimum wage "tire techs" could care less.

I was having issues with my volts wagon s headlights and sensors, Mathew and Sean provide detailed explanation making sure I walked out of that location with understanding on why the problem was occurring and how to address in the future. I walked out of there with the problem resolved I m not taking anything away from the other works however if you are ever at this location request for Mathew and Sean.

I have experienced great service for this Pep Boys in Elmont NY. The service representative, Lake, time and time again is courteous, knowledgeable and answers any questions I might have .I will return time and time again because of the service and professionalism of Lake and the other service representatives.Thank you again Pep Boys of Elmont NY !

Friday, 12/22/2023 I had tires replacement appointment for my car at Elmont location. The attendant was very unprofessional and rude. He was not answering the questions and ignoring, not helpful. He asked me to wait 2 to 3 hours for 2 tires. When I asked him about the charges in reply he said to me go to Mavis discount tires. I left the store without getting work done. Then I went to Mavis they finished the job in one hour, wow!! Don't recommend Pep Boys especially this location.

PEP BOYS ELMONT DO NOT VISIT THIS STOREBiggest mistake you ll makeThis is probably one of the worst franchises of the chain Called the area manager - Nicole - no response- the staff were a complete embarrassment and a ripoff .I had them change my oil for years - then I went under the vehicle they ripped the protective cover off They charged me $40 to replace my windshield wipers findings during an emission inspection1: All my windshield wipers were bad I recently changed them myself2:The sway bar connection was broken3: the rear brakes AND rotors were bad( I don t drive the vehicle much)4:mandatory alignment5: replacement of brake fluid$1044!!!!DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE !!!All fabricated to rip off customers!!!Lots of outside purchase on billDO NOT VISIT THIS STOREFollow up 7/5After the work I began smelling a burning smell from the rotor that was just changed went backGuess what now they claimed my caliper is bad AND charged me an additional $400+I called pep boys corporate headquartersAnd is awaiting a claim their work at THIS location is not only subpar but could have led to a fire/ ABSOLUTELY despicable

The service was great. My car was examined thoroughly I was given an appraisal of what was wrong. My rusty brakes were replaced new. I feel much safer now. The mechanic did a thorough job.
