Absolutely criminal activity, purchased a car for 8 grand in cash and within 3 weeks the car was showing serious signs of issue. Gave it to them and they replaced the exhaust manifold, but that did not solve any of the real problems. The catalytic converter is bad, the engine was burning oil, and the main seals transmission lines and numerous other things needed immediate attention. They played stupid and sold me a car that was totaled when I bought it and just didn t show signs of issue until after the warranty ended. Do NOT buy from them

Purchased a truck for my 17 year old son. Frame was rusted on one side & patch welded (poorly) & was never disclosed to us. Illegal!!When I confronted the owner & salesman, they played stupid & acted like it wasn t a big deal. When they couldn t take the heat, they called the cops. Cops said they are called their 1x/week for customer complaints. Pursuing DMV complaint, Attorney General complaint & civil lawsuit.

If I could give zero stars I would.. these crooks sold me a truck for $8000 I've had it 3 months and it has been nothing but problem after problem they charged me $900 and they still didn't fix the problem I doubt they even did the work they were supposed to and just charged me. They are very rude and unprofessional. They said they put new tires on and a week later I was told my tires wouldn't pass inspection I had it 2 weeks and the starter went it needed a new strut transmission fluid and then the fuel injector needed to be replaced the o rings and they only changed 1 spark plug. I honestly believe they didn't do the work they just charged me for it.and when I ask for receipts he just writes words down on a piece of paper and says that's the work that they did. They are junk just like the cars they sell. Stay away from these people!

The salesman Jim showed us a Mazda that we liked so we asked if we could have our mechanic, Tony Scott, look at it. He said he knew Tony and would bring it over. Tony said it needed a few things and Jim said they would take care of it. We told him we wanted the car and could we leave it there while I drove down to Florida and he said sure, no charges. He left a message the next morning and we called him back to be told the car had been sold because we said we were still looking around. Either he's senile or deluding himself. But I'll be sure to never go there again!

Bought an suv from L&m on October 3rd 2022. Not even 60 days after I called them because the oil pressure light was sporadically coming on. Dropped the car off and keys in drop box for them to diagnose the issue (which I thought was the sensor. Turned out it was the sensor) however they never called me to authorize repairs and then tried to charge me for parts and labor or threatened "to take the parts out and make me call a tow truck to get it off their lot". The "owner" Dave was very rude to myself over the phone and hung up on me multiple times when I was just trying to ask them when the car would be ready if they were already fixing it. He was also nasty to my mother who brought me back to pick up the car and pay for the unauthorized repairs to be able to get the car back.Seems they were happy to sell me the car but were not anything close to professional when it needed to be brought back in. Shady guys who seem to just be in it for the money. I will not be returning there for any more service or repairs.

Stay away from these thieves!! My son purchased a jeep liberty from them and needless to say after only a year and putting a few thousand more into it we are finally cutting our losses and getting a new car for him. They will knowingly sell you junk and try to get you to bring it back to them just to take more money from you.I should have known this place was a joke when I met the salesman and he smelled like a brewery when he returned from lunch.

Sold my brother a truck with a bad frame for 15k figuring out tomorrow if they ll do anything about it before taking legal action. This won t last another year. And they took his old truck on trade. So now he s out a car. Cause his new truck is not safe to drive!!! Update: guy told us to F off and take it to dmv! And he s committing tax fraud writing cars up for less then he sold them so he doesn t have to pay taxes . 15k truck was written up as 8.5k funny we have proof we paid all 15k. Didn t ask you to do what you did. So dmv, attorney general , and tax department will be stoping by to make sure he can t do this again and what other stuff he s hiding and doing illegally!

Three years ago I bought a 2003 Outback from this dealership. It had about 135,000 miles on it. It was priced at $4650.00. I bought it for $4400.00. It came with a worthless aftermarket warranty. I really shouldn't have bought the car. The check engine light came on right after I drove it off the lot. I took the car to another mechanic, and they gave me a list of maintenance issues that L&M should have fixed or at least told me about before I bought it. It needed steering work. It needed exhaust work. It had oil consumption issues. The head gasket was going. The radio was a cheap aftermarket unit from Walmart that had been improperly grounded and made noise. When I brought the car back to L&M they performed some absolute, cheap-as-possible, barely passable, repairs. I drove the thing for eleven months and traded it in rather than spending the money to get the car to pass inspection. Today I noticed that they have a sixteen-year-old Ford Freestyle listed on Craigslist for the same price with about the same mileage. I'm nervous for whoever buys the car. They're not asking for a lot of money. But they are completely uninterested in helping the customer have a satisfactory experience. They pressure you to look at the car quickly. They don't want to answer questions. They don't want to perform repairs the right way. Be careful if you buy from these guys. They just want to bait you in for a quick buck. Remember. An old car is an old car.

My daughter's car was towed to L&M Motors following a car accident while at college. I took me 24 days to recover my vehicle because the owner Dave made it impossible. He wanted to purchase my vehicle for a ridiculous price and when I said no all things went bad. He would regularly hang up on me, my wife and the insurance company. Ultimately I had to take off from work, drive 3 hours and pay for the initial tow and 24 days storage in the amount of $2313. Cash only. His whole objective is hold your car for ransom by making it extremely difficult to communicate and if you don't pay he acquires your vehicle. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this rude and unprofessional person and his business.

Yeah, I really wish I would have read the reviews before making the worst car purchase in my 20 years of vehicle ownership. I bought a truck from them about 9 months ago for $8k. Off the bat it was leaking power steering fluid. They "fixed it", yet it still leaks. Its far from the worst part. They told me "look, there is no rust. It came from New Hampshire and they don't use salt on the roads". Turns out the bottom was spray painted black. After a few weeks, the paint came off and it looks like the car was sitting on the bottom of the ocean. Worst part yet, 6 months after purchase, less than 5k miles later, the caliper fell off while I was driving on I90, the wheel locked and sent me spinning off the road. Given I hadn't had and brake work done, the only logical conclusion is that one of their under-educated mechanics clearly didn't properly torque the caliper mounting bolts After closer inspection, 2 wheel bearings were shot, the cv joint on the axel was failing, and the other caliper seized. This is aside from the broken rim and flat tire that were caused from the caliper falling off. Even after these repairs, I can't imagine it will pass inspection. Who pays 8K for a car that can't make it 1 year and less than 7K miles? Only a sucker that got swindled by a fraud.

I bought an 08 ranger from here. I am very satisfied with L&M. The truck was priced reasonably and the sale experience was hassle free. When buying a used car there will always be small problems. I took the truck back and they fixed them.....FOR FREE and did not hassle me at all. They needed to order a part so I came back a second time FOR FREE. Truck is strong and does exactly what I need it to do. Thanks!

Bought a Suzuki hear years ago it was a great car. Good price great car. I did go to test drive something recently. I do wish they'd fix the issues with the cars before people test drive them. It can be deterring.

I like buying a used vehicle from a trusted mechanic because I feel as though the shop would make the truck in working order before selling. It was as if the people at l & m motors did the bare minimum and sent me on my way. I live an hour and a half away and over the course of the one month while the Dakota was under warranty I brought it back four times. Though they fixed the issues that I asked them to fix, they never were concerned that I might have a lemon or that there might be more issues. They, again, just sent me on my way. I should never have to work with a local mechanic to hold another accountable which is what I had to do. I want to be able to trust the place I bought it. They could even raise their prices and start applying the difference to making a very nice vehicle and still a good deal for customers. There are a lot of things they could do but first and foremost they should serve their customers with the tools that they have at their disposal. I should only want to speak well of a little mechanic shop in east greenbush who was selling 15 rust buckets every week off of Craigslist. Now I am struggling with transmission issues which have me out $1300 since I purchased the truck which makes things pretty tough for me. Once it is cleared up this will be a nice truck (only with a small head gasket leak). I just don t trust that it was because of L & M Motors determination to make it so. Buy with caution.

Our car broke down just outside of Albany. We live in Boston. The AAA tow man Steve took us to his recommendation which was L&M Motors. We dropped the car off on a Sunday night and left the key in the box. There s a comfort inn around the corner, we stayed there. And called first thing in the morning at 8:30am. They called us around 2pm that day and fixed it all up. Mind you this was all right after a snow storm and they were busy AND down one mechanic this day. But they still did it. The battery melted. It cost $107. While it was getting fixed we walked to the Sweater Venture and the Cannoli spot. If your car breaks down in this area take it to L&M!!!!!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!! Bought a 2001 s10 blazer. It looked nice at first but as soon as it left the lot in my name the engine light came on and I discovered several more issues in the hours following. When I brought it back in the mechanic was agressively rude and refused to fix the issues covered under the 30 day warranty. The did take the car and after a week said they fixed it and it worked fine for an hour but then most of the original issues reemerged. Never going to them again

Last June I helped my disabled friend purchase a 2001 Subaru Outback for 3,400 from L and M Motors. We thought we were getting a good deal on the car we wanted, yet after 15 months (still owing a large amount on that loan) our car was diagnosed with a completely rusted out rear subframe and mounts- leaving us with a parts car at best. We feel this dealer knew our car was damaged and took us for a ride. Buyer beware!

Worst place I have ever experienced in a garage. The employee whom answered the phone was very rude each time I called and hung up on me before I was able to finish my conversation. As I attempted to explain the 9problem with my vehicle he rudely replied I will send someone out to tow it. I waited 2 hours before calling back to remind them to come tow my vehicle. The did not inform me that they could not look at my vehicle for a couple days. I again called the second day and was told that it was an ignition switch that was bad and it would be worked on the following day. I recieved a call on the 3rd day stating my vehicle was fixed and ready and again i was hung up on. I picked up the vehicle. Paid the bill to find that it was a 5.00 fuse not the ignition switch and was charge 190.00 for the repair. I was told it was the aftermarket radio or the remote car starter that was causing the fuse to blow. I do not have an remote starter and the radio has been in the vehicle for 1 1/2 years with no problems. The vehicle was returned to me with the radio not functioning and the ignition fuse that continues to keep blowing. They continued with rude comments made when i entered the office again to question why the radio was not working. I have never been so disgusted with the customer service of a business before or paying that amount of money to recieving a vehicle back that was not properly fixed and having additional things wrong with it upon its return.

Terrible service, rude people. Took them several days to look at my car then all they did was drive it around and apparently take it mudding without my consent on a bad clutch... never experienced such a rude mechanic in my life. I ended up pulling my car out of there because they took it upon themselves to write no rush on the service although i told them it was a rush then proceeded to talk to my girlfriend in a nasty manner. Would never take my car here again.

Great, originally they had quoted me $500, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got there and found out I didn't need the Alternator. Many of repair places would have just included that Alternator, but it was comforting to know that they didn't tack that on.They were reasonable and honest.

Don t ever EVER go here. I bought an 03 Subaru Forrester which completely disintergrated from rust a year and a half after I bought it. One of the rear wheel wells completely detached from the car and the shock is now in the trunk. The brake lines also rusted and stopped working and I nearly got t-boned at a stop light. I spent $4000 last uear to replace the entire subframe and exhaust (including the cat). I bought the car for $4500. And the very first thing to go was the starter a month after I bought it. Now I m still paying off a car that s rotting in my back yard. Buyer beware, do NOT take a chance going here. You can t spell lemon without L&M.

Honest and cheap(in a good way) . One of my go to shops when I know I need simple work done the right way, and not overpriced parts. No bait and switch, no gimmicks, they just get the work and do it. Dave is a great guy too.

Please DO NOT purchase a car from here. They will scam you. These cars are purchased from auctions and rigged up to be resold. They will not pass inspections at any other place. They will rip you off any chance they get. I know from personal experience.
