I stayed here for one night - the original room smelled very strongly of marijuana, and I was promptly moved to a new room with no smell with the help of a kind staff member. Unfortunately, this room had no temperature control and the heater was determined to keep the room at 85 no matter what I did to the unworking thermostat. After waking up sweating, I discovered leaving the window wide open on a 35 degree night kept the room at ~70 degrees. The bathroom had the opposite issue - after 15 minutes of adjusting ice cold water, I found one specific orientation of the shower controls where lukewarm water came out at low velocity. The bedside lamp was also unworking. The room was otherwise clean with a working mini fridge and microwave.I am sure the staff would have suggested a solution had they been present as they were helpful and kind when I interacted with them, but these issues were discovered later in the night when no one was in the office. Despite the friendly staff, I would not stay here again as the hassles of the room and a poor night's sleep were not worth the price.

It's a cozy little place, the staff was so kind and amazing, also the maintenance guys are very polite and kind. The only problem I had was around midnight there was some lady out there yelling for her dog or cat for 20 minutes straight waking me up also there was 3 little dogs running around with no leash barking and going after other dogs. Other then that highly recommended if your looking for a cozy friendly place to lay your head...

It's very run-down, dirty and worn. It seems to also be a homeless shelter and halfway house. Found 2 dead bedbugs in the sheets. Smelled of cigarette smoke. Brown spray on the walls next to the toilet. It was disgusting. We considered packing up and leaving in the middle of the night but we were too tired. Breakfast was a bunch of random mini cereal boxes, hi-c, chocolate milk and granola bars in a paper bag. Oh we got apples - those were good. The man at the reception desk (owner? not sure) was very nice though. As soon as we got home we washed everything in hot hot water just in case there were hitchhikers. Keep driving if you are in the area.

Good location, close to Main Street and Delhi university but hotel is out dated, needs upgrades, smells really bad like old cigarettes in the room and bathroom. Customer service is good but rooms are horrible. Hotel has electric charging station on site if you have electric vehicle.Rooms: Smell bad, needs upgrades

I recently stayed at the Buena Vista Inn to attend a family wedding in Delhi. I rented an electric car to drive roundtrip from New York City. It was the first time I ever drove an electric car and had no knowledge of how to re-charge the car, which had to be done to drive back to the city the next day. I was unable to activate the electric car charger in the hotel parking lot after much troubleshooting. I called the customer assistance number printed on the charger several times, but no representative was available to take my calls.James, the Buena Vista Inn owner, saw me struggling at the charger and approached to help. When he too couldn t figure out how to activate the charger, James located a local charging station and drove with me in my car to the station to ensure I could sucessfully charge my car. Once the car began to charge at the local station, James escorted me back to the hotel on foot with the promise that he d drive me back to the charging station in the morning. As promised, he drove me to the charging station in the morning to pick up my now fully-charged vehicle.Had James not stepped in, I do not know how I would ve managed. This would have been a disaster had James not gone out of his way to help me out.If you ever stay the night in Delhi, the Buena Vista Inn is the only place you will ever receive such extraordinary customer service.Thank you so much, James!

The staff was very polite and accommodated my early check in- I really appreciated that. However, the photos in the Google image search appear much more recently updated than the actual motel does in person. The reviews seemed decent so I made a reservation. One perk that I did like was that I did not have to put down a costly deposit. It was also fairly empty and peaceful. The scent of the room wasn't fantastic, but I always bring an air freshener when traveling and that seemed to help a bit. Overall, I would have given a 3 star review had the heat worked. I turned the thermostat up to 90 degrees but it would not budge from 58. And yes, I turned the fan from auto to on, and the cold setting to heat. I stayed for about 3.5 hours and nothing kicked on. I do not believe there was any heat working in that room. Maybe it was just that one room. There is a working air conditioner so it may just be more suitable to stay during the summer months. But when it's 19 degrees in Delhi in December it's tough to get comfortable with no warmth. It probably wouldn't have been so bad, but the room wasn't very well insulated. I ended up just opting to make the trek home. Thankfully, I am now comfortable and toasty. It's not a bad place to catch a quick cat nap or to rest for a bit after a long trip, but I probably won't plan on staying for a long stretch of time if I return. Thank you for accommodating my early check in, I appreciate it.

Our power went out thanks to a snowstorm & the proprietors of this hotel graciously let us stay in a room with our pets for three days. Our room was spacious, clean (I liked that the floors weren't carpeted) & there was great wifi. My only complaint is that cigarette smoke floated into the room at all hours. It would be a nicer place if there were no smoking in or near any of the rooms.

We reserved two rooms for our family to stay while visiting our parents in Delhi NY. All the rooms that we were given, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We asked for different rooms, we were told there was only one other room available, we thought it might smell a little better, but it was hard to tell because the hotel was using floral air freshener to mask the cigarette smell. Later when we returned to go to bed, we realized that this room also smelled of smoke. We noticed that there were people housed below our rooms, they were smoking outside of the rooms. During the night, the smoke smell seemed to get worse, so strong that it was burning our noses. We were having trouble breathing and having trouble trying to go to sleep. The smoke was coming through the building from the unit below, smoke was coming into our room through the walls and the exhaust vent in the bathroom. There were people making noise throughout the night from the unit underneath, playing the television at high volume. People in the room below ours, seemed to be up for most of the night, then around 4:30 in the morning, in the room underneath, a woman and man started shouting at each other.The room interiors were old and outdated, with old windows that have been painted so much that they are difficult to open, old secondhand furnishings, wall paneling, windows and doors painted over many times, cheap laminate flooring, cheap plastic blinds. The hotel has never been fully renovated.We heard bad things about this hotel in the past. We read that the hotel was under new management and had undergone a renovation. We were not familiar with the hotel brand OYO. We thought perhaps the hotel might have improved with new management and renovations, that it might be better than what we had heard about it. If it was worse before, this wasn't too much of an improvement. We've stayed in many hotels and this one was the worst that we can recall.

The place has gone down hill and fast. The State has taken over this motel. The rooms were dirty. Sheets were dirty. garbage still on the floor from the last tenant.The Air conditioner inside was so moldy I got sick and it wasn't even on!. . not a clean atmosphere at all anymore, sorry to say.

Nice little economical place to rest the night after a long drive. Has all the essentials you would need for a comfortable easy stay, and everything works. The bed and room was clean, and has a lived-in feel, just like your home. You get a breakfast bag to go, and free coffee in the morning. Nothing extravagant but everything essential you would need. Good friendly customer service at the front desk too. Will definitely recommend!

Great deal, clean rooms, and the owner/staff were incredibly helpful.When I needed a ride, the owner even offered me a ride to my destination!They are very dedicated to making your stay enjoyable!

Perfect Hotel to stay at in the college town of Delhi. Great staff members. James front desk manager was very accommodating. Very friendly housekeeping team. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms come with a mini fridge and microwave. Beds are extremely comfortable. Please book your room here if you in the Catskills mountains or if you are in the Delhi area.

I was very pleased with my stay at the OYO Delhi NY Hotel. The staff was very nice and quick to assist. The room was very clean, and quiet, just what I needed. My only complaint is tha the TV did not work for the last night I was there, but to their defense - I did not let them know about the technical issue. It was probably a user error.

Room was very CLEAN, A/C was COLD, older motel but fresh paint and truly is a gem in a area with limited resources. The staff was polite and very accommodating. Shout out to the owner/manager JAMES for all his help. The room had a queen bed, dorm fridge and microwave. I stayed for a total of 7 days. Located just a minute from downtown Delhi.Thanks again. -marty

Good, affordable place to stay. You dont expect luxury but what you do expect is a clean room, pleasant staff and quiet surroundings. My room was very clean, the living space was updated, good amount of cable channels on a TV that actually worked. Bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean except for the shower - which was clean but the older tile probably cant get super clean anymore. Person who checked me in was super nice! Not noisy, I couldn't hear the guests next door at all. Coffee at breakfast was actually good! I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here years ago and was very unsatisfied with it, I was hoping things had gotten better with the new branding......It has not.....It is worseHair all over the bathroom and not clean at all. Place looks like it's in disrepair...Feels dirtier and more unsafe than the last time...Bring disinfectant and your own linens including towels. Leave your valuables in your car....

The room and bathroom were very clean, bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. No complaints!I actually met James (the owner) and found out he recently acquired the Buena Vista and renovated a lot of the property. If you're reading reviews, give the Buena Vista a chance!Last but not least, our 4 year-old left his favorite toy behind. Put in the mail the next day and he was overjoyed to get it back!Thanks Buena Vista!

If you have never stayed in a classic motel, the Hotel Buena Vista is your place. The current owners are upgrading the rooms so some rooms are nicer than others. The management is on the premises and they are very nice. I was charmed when we checked in and enjoyed looking at the plants in the lobby.This hotel is the best value in the area. We came to see Bleachers at Ommegang on a summer Friday and the other area hotels were soaking people! It was well worth the drive to Ommegang to save hundreds per night.The current management noted in their response to another review that they sometimes mail valuables that are left in rooms. They do. I left my iPad, aka, electronic brain and cyborg appendage. They mailed it back by priority mail and my soul feels better now.

It fit its purpose of a place close to Delhi to send him off to college. We had the three bed room and the beds were comfortable. Tv wasn t working but we were barely in the room. Definitely a small town motel with lots of work needed. Bathroom was sketchy but it was a great rate and location was perfect. Will rebook.

bed was comfortable and linens were clean. the room itself was dirty, walls were marked up, floor was very dirty. only had 1 set of towels, had to ask for more. overall just ok.

The hotel has signs at the front desk and makes it clear online that it s a non-smoking hotel, but this rule is definitely not followed. The stench of cigarette smoke in our room took us aback as soon as we opened the door, and stayed strongly even with the window fully open and the fan on at the same time. It was as if someone had just been smoking all day before we walked in. Absolutely disgusting.
