Nice place, good price, beautiful lake, lovely sunrise. Beds could be sturdier, bathroom bigger and it would be nice if vending machines on the hill worked. Friendly and helpful staff, showed kids how to use the fishing rod that was available for free next to the reception cabin. The jar with worms was available in their fridge for $5. The place would be really quiet, but the bathroom fans (or A/C?) in other rooms vibrated menacingly without a break all night.Rooms: There was an adjacent room door in our room on the hill.

Very nice location.Spectacular view in the morning ..Has a deck on the lake and a swimming area.Lots of potential. Here's the bad, extremely musty.Needed to Air room out.Strong Disinfectant oder throughout entire room..The air conditioner sounded like a Mack truck ..Rooms: Air in out!Cannot stress enough.Once that's done, you'll be able to sleep..Ask for more pillows or bring your own.Paper thin pillows

Great location right on the lake and only 8 min from downtown Cooperstown. I definitely recommend getting a room on the upper level for views and landscape. Rooms were decent size although dated. Bed was comfortable. They need to update bedding. Comforter was extremely stained. Other than that, I'd stay again. Great deal for the price. We did not get opportunity to go down to private beach area but enjoyed sitting in Adirondack chairs overlooking lake. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful quiet little rooms with a phenomenal view of the lake. The employees were extremely friendly and told us all about cooperstown and where to grab some yummy food. Reasonable room prices. They give you access to the lake across the street, it's a pretty dock. If you're visiting cooperstown, you should give this place a chance.Rooms: Older updated rooms. Very clean with a coffee machine, microwave, mini fridge, and TV. Very low cell phone service but they do provide free wifi.Nearby activities: Downtown is about a 10 minute drive away. Glimmerglass state park is also within a very close driving distance.

My husband and I just hosted our wedding guests at Lake View this past weekend and we had an amazing experience. The staff working here go above and beyond and continually check in to make sure everything is running smoothly. The rooms are a little dated but clean, and the location is something you can't beat, especially with lake access. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone I speak to, especially if you are coming with a group. Amazing experience all around, we cannot thank them enough!

The property was nice and the receptionist was very friendly and pleasant. The Hotel also provided things to do on the lake across the street. The rooms were an entirely different story. I stayed on the bottom level where the office is located. They provided two chairs outside the room which I thought was nice. The room was small and cramped . The bed was uncomfortable and looked like it had been through the ringer. It was very outdated.I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room.

Beautiful property in a serene setting. My family enjoyed the paddle boats at the lake. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are outdated but clean. The property is well maintained and nicely landscaped, especially around the cottages. Ample, comfortable seating all around to enjoy the lake view. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. The swimming area and platforms are a delight. After a hot journey from NYC a swim in the lake was most refreshing. The staff are helpful, genuinely interested in guest's welfare. The room was comfortable but tight for four of us with luggage.Shower was great.

While we were admittedly only there for an overnight visit, the experience was pleasant. The setting beside the lake, and the rolling hills on either side, is wonderful. The rooms were clean and the site appears to be well kept. It is a Motel, so rooms are cramped but the bathroom was spacious. Having the restaurant on site was a great addition. The food was excellent and comparatively priced to other restaurants in the area. Handing each person a $5 dinner coupon is a great grab. Between that, and the wonderful smells coming from the restaurant, ensured we weren't travelling into town. Some of the quirks: we had a ground floor room and it smelled very "cottagey" in the room - damp and musty. It was easily addressed by opening the windows, but being on the ground floor we weren't comfortable leaving our windows open for the night. Parking is very close quarters, particularly if you have a larger vehicle. While the staff were well prepped for our arrival, they don't offer much in terms of what to expect when you are at the hotel and what brings you to Cooperstown. We had to do a lot of digging on the internet for stuff they could have easily told us. As a traveler, you come to expect coffee in the morning and the lobby had a full coffee machine that was prepped to go in the morning, but as 6:30 turned into 7:00 and then into 7:30 and the office was not opening, the empty coffee pot just sat there - inaccessible to the patrons.Very charming motel and would go back again.

We stayed in one of the 2 suites overlooking the Lake. The suite was very spacious. It was also very clean. There was a little musty smell that hopefully they can get rid of one day. Updating needs to be done but for the rate it is decent. All the staff was very friendly! Doreen emailed us a list of restaurant recommendations and answered all our questions. We will definitely stay again!

We came up for my Uncles funeral in Herkimer and there were no rooms available except for this hotel which was about 1/2 hour away. We really appreciated the ease of check in & check out with Willis who was so helpful with finding us coffee filters, a small item but it went a long way! All staff were friendly & kind, rooms were clean, we had everything we needed. In the evening when we came back from Herkimer we had a lake view and hung out in the multiple areas on the lake across the street. Your staff are amazing and helpful.. truly when we needed a little extra kindness they were on it!Thank you so much Sarah S.

Really neat place. We really enjoyed fishing off the dock. The hotel provides you with fishing rods to use which is great because it's hard to travel with fishing gear. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A/c worked great. Just be aware that you have to cross the street to get to the water, the hotel is not right in the water. Most hotels in the area are like this however. Was no big deal to cross the street and was a very short walk. Very pretty view from their grassy play area. The kids enjoyed throwing the ball around and playing. They also have bbq grills for cooking out and picnic tables. Was a very nice stay.

First of all, Doreen, at the front desk was extremely helpful for a first-time guest to the Lakeview as well as Cooperstown. She was very accommodating per my request for my small, non barking service dog, Sondra; I never travel anywhere without her. She went on to sending me a list of all the restaurants in town with her own personal recommendations. That personal touch made me feel welcomed before I even got there! The motel sits on a great spot overlooking Oswego lake, great for swimming and fishing. They have their own dock where I caught around 15 small fish (they worms at the front desk). All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially Jeff, the maintenance man. He was certainly a highlight of this visit telling many epic stories of growing up in the area, fishing, boating & hunting. He was great to talk to and very generous with some extra fishing gear. I look forward to returning in the Spring as well as next fall! Thank you for your great hospitality, amazing scenic views, personal touch and respectful privacy. Sondra & I will be regular guests at the Lakeview Motel.

Enjoyed my stay. Slept well on the bed. I'm tall so the high shower head was appreciated. Excellent view of the lake. Friendly staff. Great value.

Big time 0 stars. Literally a dump. I strongly encourage NOT to stay there if you go to Cooperstown NY or the Baseball Hall of Fame. Stains all over the put of date furniture, bed bugs, and stand up showers with hardly any water pressure. Would you $112/ night for that? Unfortunately I did. Lake Front Hotel is where I wanted to stay. Mixed up places and unfortunately I had a horrible experience

beautiful views with good clean rooms. the staff is friendly and helpful and servicing the rooms wad very well done. However, the room tv's are CRTs and have bad picture and sound. Come on Lakview, buy new HD tv's.
