These guys are great! Needed a caliper, along with my inspection.Didn't cost me an arm and a leg, so to speak. Scott and TJ are the brothers/owners, great guys. Fair and very very trustworthy. A+++ I drive a much older truck, but they still took care of me.

I stopped to see if they could help me and but air in my tires. My warning light had turned on. A young lady helped me out, and in minutes i was on my way. I'm very thankful and appreciate their kindness. It's an act I don't see very often. Thank you.

My family has been taking our vehicles to Barrett's for about a year now and they are great! Very honest, knowledgeable guys and reasonably priced. I would rather spend my money at a locally-owned business, than a large dealership who tend to overcharge and not fix the problem the first time.

Before a friend took a vehicle to be inspected here I went over it. I checked all lights, brakes, horn, suspension components, all tires were over 4/32 across entire tire. I have been a certified motor vehicle inspector for over 50 years. Upon Barrett's inspecting the vehicle, they told her all 4 tires failed and they would replace them for her for $900. They also told her her muffler failed and they would replace it and pipe for $1000. Believing them she had it done. Then they charged her $40. each to mount and balance tires, that's double what most garages charge. One last thing Barrett Brother's, according NYS DMV the muffler is not part of an inspection.

Best in the biz! While every shop is pretty busy these days, Barrett Brothers are quick to get you in, give you full transparency about any issues with your car/truck, and get you back on the road. Only had my car in for an NYS inspection. The were quick and efficient about getting it done. But the inspection sticker machine went bad they even went so far as to take my car to a competitor so it could be done for me. Very pleasant and professional people. I ll be going back in the future.

Scott s Great. Went for a simple inspection. Service was fast and attentional to detail on placing the sticker straight with the registration shows they care about there work.

These guys are professional and efficient the pricing is fair and my car is always in tip top shape when I leave. They care about their customers and their safety. I cannot say enough good things about them

Seem fait and honest. Stopped in for brakes and they said it's not needed yet. Appreciate the honesty. Would have given them 5 stars if there wasn't an added fee for using credit card.

Scottie got me right in, Jeff called me a couple times to go over the issues, gave me options to split up the service by handling the critical issue first, brakes, will be going back next month to handle the fuel pump. They tried to get the warranty company to cover part of the cost. I got my truck back the same day, brakes feel awesome. The whole experience was very comfortable, professional and fast. This place will over charge you any chance they get. Had them replace my radiator which I supplied. I was quoted 2 hours (fine). And I added changing the thermostat housing which I also provided. That 5-minute job I added cost me an extra hour of labor. I quote "it doesn't matter if it took me 20mins, your getting charged an hour because that's what it says" Now if they were only doing the thermostat housing, maybe it would have taken an hour, but they already had the coolant drained so it's a 10min job max.. If I would have known it would have cost me an extra $100+tax I would have done it myself. All these great reviews are friends and family apparently. If you're a current customer please look at your receipts, And even call another shop to see what their quote would be. I would bet you are being overcharged and didn't even know it. FYI any other shop would have combined the rates or adjusted them if the work was already part of the original work scope.UPDATE: one year later and the radiator needs to be replaced again. Maybe a bad part from pep boys but never had an issue with the radiators from there before. Maybe careless install as it's only plastic caps and is cracked and leaking. Either way fishy the OEM lasted 180k and the upgrades one didn't last 40k .

Barrett Brothers is the BEST!! Fair price, professional employees, very fast service. Definitely will be back & highly encourage everyone to go. Not only was the car fixed in a small amount of time, but it was given the "once over" AND they did my inspection too. Barrett Brothers is the type of personalized repair shop that goes over everything with a fine tooth comb & wants their customers to leave satisfied & return for any future needs. They truly are impressive and clearly aim to please!

Went to Barrett Brothers for my inspection. The gentlemen who assisted me was very rude from the start. I was told my tires were critically bald and did not pass inspection. I asked him if he could give me a quote on a new set and he said my tires were a hard size to find and suggested I went to Walmart. Pulled my car out and sent me on my way. No help at all!!! My boyfriend checked them as soon as he got home with his tire gauge and i was at 4/32nds on all tires. To pass inspection you need at least 2/32nds. The following day I brought my car to Quality Care in Cazenovia and had them check the tires for me and he said they would definitely pass inspection but he didn t have an appointment available until the 14th. I ended up bringing it to A&R Tire Services today and passed inspection no problem. Barrett Brothers not only waisted my time they have terrible customer service and I would definitely not recommend them!

Highest recommendation I can give. Great work, done quickly, and they saved me hundreds over my dealership (where I will never go again). Even went the extra mile to fix some little things for free. Scott's done a lot of work on my parents' and my cars over the years. This shop is kind of a drive from my house but I'll be making the trip from now on, because you can trust Scott and co. to do great work at a VERY fair price.

They are AWESOME! Had trouble getting a tire remounted everywhere else as we had a flat. We called Barrett Brothers and they took us right in! Within 25 minutes the job was done. Person who helped us mentioned a safety issue with car, and we got an estimate. 3 days later we called to see how soon we could be scheduled for estimated repairs - they took us in the same day - serviced by 11, and job was done by 2pm! Couldn't be more satisfied with the job and the care they take with their customers. Will be a returning customer - they have earned my trust!

This was my first visit to Barrett Brother s Auto Repair and I was very pleased with the service I received.I m no stranger to Auto Repair shops, I ve been to many and have been taking advantage of with costly repairs.TJ was able to assess the problem and repair it at a much lower cost.I feel confident doing business with Barrett s in the future and would highly recommend them.

Great experience from my first phone call and throughout every step of the repair done on my wife's vehicle. Tj who I assume is one of the owners, called me with updates and even suggested calling the dealer to see if part could be covered under a warranty because of the cost of part. I will highly recommend this repair shop to everyone I know. I am extremely thankful for the time and effort they put in to repairing my wife's car and giving it new life.

They are a good place to take your business. Was there to get tires put on. They told me a few things wrong with my car. That another shop never told me what was wrong. I recommend this shop if you're looking for honest people and excellent service!! And they are not out to rob you as well!!

These gentlemen totally saved me!My starter died, but we got it running by banging on it with a hammer. Obviously we were then afraid to shut the vehicle off with a bad starter, so we were in kind of a bind.But instead of turning us away like EVERY OTHER shop in the area, they fit me in at the tail end of their work day. Very friendly, very reasonable, gave us waters while we waited. 100% great experience, would love to give my business to them again.

These guys are great! Got me in with virtually no notice I waited maybe 3 hours, with no notice or appointment! They passed my inspection with a few minor repairs amd I was on the road! Great people amd straightforward honest service

I brought Barrett Brothers my '97 Jeep Wrangler that nobody else wanted to work on (or would charge me an arm and a leg to replace everything that moves). I'm glad that I found Barrett Brothers, as these guys get what it means to wrench on an older vehicle: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."...They drive what I drive.

Best shop in chittenango. They have fixed my truck quite a few times. Always fast, great service and amazing work. I bring in my rust bucket all the time and they make her well again without replacing a million parts. I work on my own vehicles and know when something is wrong and what it is. And everytime they fix the right thing and the right way. If you could see the work they have done with my rust bucket you would be impressed. Good to have a great shop right here in town
