Nice spot on the Schroon River to stop and fish or just hang out and check out the sights and sounds of the Adirondacks.

The dam has a public parking lot for about 8 cars. Fishing is popular here, below the dam. This is also a good spot for launching canoes and kayaks. One may start upstream where the Schroon River empties out of Schroon Lake, and take out at Starbuckville Dam (five miles of flatwater). Or put in at the dam and paddle through eight miles of Class 2 whitewater to the takeout at East Schroon River Rd.
