Can t recommend this place enough! They were able to get me in and out in about an hour with no appointment. I heard a weird scraping noise while driving, called them up, and they repaired it same day. Probably the best/easiest experience I ve ever had at an auto shop. 10/10.

Used to be the best shop in town. Good repour, you always left happy even if it costed more, now I wouldn t trust them to work on my lawnmower. Almost $5k to fix a car and it has broken down 3 times within 100 miles. I have talked to other mechanics and they said everything that has broken down should have been replaced due to the scope of work. Never again. Dan would not be happy

The best of the best! Great group of hard working men. Dan Vail and his crew know their stuff, work hard and get the job done right, are affordable and never price gouge their customers. They truly care about their customers' safety and are the most honest guys in the business. I'll never bring my car anywhere else. Keep up the great work guys!

Vail Automotive consistently does excellent quality work at a fair price. They even go the extra mile to save the customer unnecessary expense. They're honest and won't rip you off. Count me as another satisfied, lifetime customer!

Matt Vail and his crew are top notch guys who do great, honest work. It's clear that they're passionate about what they do and happy to help their customers. Most recently, I had a back light go out and the boys squeezed me into their schedule and fixed it within 10 mins. Their accountability for booked appointments & bigger jobs is equally good - I've had all sorts of things done with them from brakes to buying & mounting/aligning tires to doing diagnostic tests & fixing the problem to state inspections and more. Highly recommend these guys.

My brother in law recommended Vail Automotive to me in 1999 and my relationship with their top notch service has lasted longer than my marriage. They have always done excellent work on all of vehicles over the years, foreign and domestic makes. I would be hard pressed to go anywhere else. Dan's the man!

WOW, what an amazing experience. Unfortunately I had my tires slashed this weekend. I came into Vail Automotive at 7:30AM on a Monday morning to get help, and I left at 10AM with my car ready for the road. Unbelievably fast, honest work. To whoever slashed my tires, thanks for helping me find a great mechanic in Rochester!! I will certainly be back and will tell all of my friends!

Less than 24 hour turnaround. Family owned business - honest from what I gather. Happy to order and install remanufactured parts. Great communication via Facebook messenger made the appointment setup casual and easy. Will be back for future service!

What can I say the last honest mechanics in town. Service is always good they try to get you out Asap , lowest pricing in town and staff is always welcoming and honest wouldn't go anywhere else. Keep up the good work guys.

My car broke down near Vail Automotive on my lunch break so I pulled into the shop without an appointment. They got me right in and checked out what was going on with my car. They ran diagnostics and pop the hood and realized the wire on my battery came loose. They fixed the wires and made sure the problem was fixed, free of charge. Safe to say I will be bringing my business here in the future.

The owner called to argue about the oil cap being tightened to the point it broke metal in the oil pan of a BMW. I feel it was done on purpose due to the fact it was pointed out that the price of the light was less there was no communication about getting the wrong part and correcting the bill. THE OWNER THEN SAYS If I was to do something to your car it wouldn t be to mess with the oil cap that s the wackiest thing ever Also admitted that as a mechanic he will try to get over on women. The point of the review is to be aware of shady things not everyone is honest nor professional!

Vail Automotive is great. They will find the problem with your car where other places will leave you forking out $$$$ taking pot shots at replacing parts. They aren't exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for. Just make sure to get a quote and compare a bit before you have any work done.

Thorough and well priced repairs. My only complaint is that both times I have brought my car in, it has smelled of cigarettes after being worked on.

The owner is honest n don't take advantage of his customer and his prices r very reasonable n his work is satisfactory 100%. I wouldn't go to anyone else to touch my vehicle no matter how bad I may need my truck ,I will wait on Vail Automotive to get the job done.He's the man to go to n I will recommendy friends n others to him without any second thoughts.U will never find anyone as honest as Vail motors.

Vail automotive shop has been around for a while and I've been going to them since 93 and they always do the job right they do it quick and they do it honestly. Vail Automotive unlike dealerships will leave you a little change in your pocket

I will recomend Vail automotive to everyone that asks! The level of professionalism is second to none here in Rochester. They have been the most honest repair shop I have come accross here in Rochester and the quality of work is superb! Thanks Dan! You now have a life long customer.

I came to get my radiator fan replaced as well as the radiator. They called me and told me that they had called all around and no one has my parts available and that I will have to get it from the dealership and that the parts alone would cost over $1,200.I then proceeded to call advance Auto and they had the parts for $130 a piece so they try to get over on me and charge me extra. They are liars and I will not ever do business with them ever again

Aweful work and customer service .my family went up their to get some work done and its been a week .simple heatng coil . I would not recommend them at all . The owner name is Dan veil. I will be reporting this buisness to the proper authorities

I will not take my vehicles anywhere else. Dan Vail does the right thing the first time for a fair price. Good luck finding a better deal.

Been going there since 1993 . they never try to sell my daughter or me anything we don't need I appreciate that. For that reason alone I won't go anywhere else. Thanks guys:)
