Teddy and the workers are personable and good at their jobs. I never have any surprises as he will always tell me up front what needs to be done and gets prices on parts before you leave. He is very accommodating even offering to bring me to work when i couldn't get in for my normal day off so that the repairs wouldn't be put off. I've gone to see him 2x now's as he was recommended by others. I will be making him my normal garage.

If you want a trusted mechanic, Tedford's the place to come. Hes been my mechanic for years and so far for 4 different cars. Always kept my cars on the road. Very relireliable.

When living in Rouses Point, NY, I only brought my car to Tedford's. I know nothing about cars and have always felt very comfortable bringing my car here. Whether my car issues were emergencies or not, I have never felt as if they were trying to make me fix more than was needed. When I moved out of the area I was sad that I had to find a new mechanic. I haven't since and after a recent bad experience with a chain auto repair shop I decided I needed to go out of my way to bring my car to Tedford's. Because of where I live I can't just drop my car off at Tedford's and sitting for 1-2 hours while my car is being worked on is well worth the wait, given I feel 100% confident and comfortable with the work that is being done. In fact, they have more than once gone out of their way to help me. Once, 10 years ago, I was driving through the area and noticed my wheels shaking badly. Never having been to Tedford's I stopped and asked the owner to look at it (mind you, it was a Saturday evening and he was closed). Turns out, it was just a bunch of snow in my tires and he was not going to charge me for that (I gave him money anyway!). I really can't say enough good things about Tedford's! Thanks to Tedford's for giving me peace of mind when it comes to my car!!

I've been going to Tedfords for 15 years now and wouldn't consider going anywhere else first. Here are some highlights of my experiences. If something was not right during a vehicle inspection, Teddy would take me to the vehicle and actually show me the problem. On the one occasion they were not able to fix my vehicle, he never charged me for his time. I like to perform all car repairs I can myself and if the parts store is closed in my area, I have, on more than one occasion, when to their garage and either bought parts reasonably or they just gave me what I needed! Finally, Teddy is just a nice person to deal with and is always cordial and professional.The one thing I think they can improve is communication on your vehicle's progress. They do not give courtesy calls when your vehicle is completed. More importantly, they will not call if there is a delay in repairs. So the pointer is, call the shop before you visit to check the progress on your vehicle!

Mr. Tedford seemed like an honest guy, which is great when you're dealing with a mechanic. I arrived earlier than my scheduled appointment by 45 minutes and he took my car in as soon as I got there. He performed my oil change and inspection in about 40 minutes. He informed me that my brake line in the front was looking pretty rough and would probably need replacing before next winter. He didn't try to sell me anything. He had the door open to his shop so I could have watched everything he did. The waiting area was pretty basic- just several chairs and a really old bathroom. Regardless, 10/10 would go back again for service here. I will note that whoever answered the phone when I scheduled my appointment sound annoyed that I was bothering her. Oh well.

I have been going to Tedfords for many years. He is the most honest repair man you will ever go too. He explains what he's going to do and how much it will cost you. The most polite people you will come across. Dependable and trustworthy is what you will get going to Tedfords.

Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience with Tedford s. When my camper van stopped working, I asked them if I could have it towed there so they could fix it. They told me they were quite busy but would take a look at it the following week and depending what the problem was, they would set a date for the repair. I agreed and had the van towed.7 weeks later, despite several visits and phone calls from me, they still hadn t looked at the van and were unable to tell me when they would do so. I bought a can of starting fluid from the shop next door, started the van and brought it to another shop.

I have a Volvo S80, not the kind of car you take just anywhere for service, however my dealer is a two hour drive away. Tedfords is the one shop I trust to work on this car. They are knowledgeable and fair. I recommend this shop to all my friends and family.

Quotes from staff at tedfords:"We would only do that for our long time customers." (Aka not for people who just moved here that are referred by long time customers)."We are the busiest shop around." (So they dont need your business.)Basically if they dont know you then your garbage to them.

These guys are great. They're fast, and really honest. Multiple times they've called me what repairs are really needed and what aren't. Most recently they discovered my car was actually leaking from the head gaskets when I thought it was the valve cover gaskets (and asked them to change the valve cover gaskets). They put it up on the lift and showed me where it was really leaking from. This not only saved me ~$200 for an unnecessary repair; they also went above and beyond by bringing me into the garage to actually see the leak. Total bill? $0. You don't find that level of customer service very often.

Was traveling to Montreal and oil light came on .. so I went to this establishment and he apologized that he could not do the oil change as I wait ... sad and unfortunate this place does not do this like most other places .. I understand they repair cars too though I strongly feel state inspections and oils changes should be able to be done while consumer is waiting

Wasnt impressed changed me 86 dollars to change my car tires an they where so slow dropped my car off at 1 never got it back till 530 that night.
