There is no better mechanic anywhere (that I know of) near me or in the surrounding Syracuse area. They are HONEST, do not charge you for petty things. Warranty their work. Prices are more reasonable than any other mechanic that I have found. My son even drives from Rochester to get his car repaired here because he only trusts them as well. Between my 2 children and myself and over 13 years of doing business with them we have gotten quotes for repairs from other shops (As I have one son who lives in East Syracuse and the other in Rochester). My oldest son had a quote from a repair shop close to his home and I basically said have it towed to Murphy's. I know you live in East Syracuse but the price is better, the quality of the repairs is better, it might be a longer drive but always well worth it for the quality of work they do. In short, if you want the job done right, warrantied right, and want to deal with an honest repair shop, this is the place for you. ONLY downside is they are not open on the weekends. But why should they be....they have such a demand for their impeccable service that if you need to wait a week....it's worth the wait.

I have never had a problem here until this incident. I had a purge valve selinoid egr valve, and alternator replaced all good. I drove the car 20 miles to drop my daughter off and get to work and when I parked it it just reeked of gas. When I opened the hood gas was spraying all over my engine like a pressure washer. Turns out the grouded their ratchet on the fuel rail while changing the alternator (with the battery connected) and melted a hole in it. They decided a "good fix" was putting a screw in the hole with a rubber o-ring. 20 miles after leaving the gas had eaten through the rubber o-ring (every half normal person knows gas eats rubber) and put my life in danger due to complete negligence. Their explanation was that it is "impossible" to find a fuel rail for a 2007 bucik Lucerne but yet they had it fixed within three hours. They have no problem putting your life in danger to save time and money. They said most of their o.rongs are chemical resistant so they thought it was a "good fix". Complete incompetence and rude about the whole thing. Don't dare ask them questions to understand what happened because you will get screamed at. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else because these guys put on a facade of being nice people until you question them or call them out of scumbag decisions. Don't expect good customer service either because they are always snotty and patronizing. I also wanna say that they will put parts on your car without consulting you such as the EGR valve. The car may have needed it but they never asked me.if I wanted it changed. To sum.it.up they are alright until something isn't alright then their true colors show even when it is 100% their fault and you have every right to ask a bunch of questions after they put your life at extreme risk.

We stoped here because our car started malfunctioning about a mile away while on a family road trip. The experience was fantastic. They took care of us right away even though they were booked up and had us back on the road in under two hours and for less than originally estimated.

My wife and I have been going to Murphy s for 16 years now. This a fantastic hometown auto service provider. They are upfront with you about what your vehicle needs, and don t upsell you a bunch of garbage like a dealer would do. Murphy s is a busy shop for a reason, they get the job done. As long as we live here, we ll be using them for all our vehicle services.

Incredible, above-and-beyond service at Murphy s. We are from out of state and broke down on the way to our vacation destination. Car loaded with kids, dog, coolers, roof top carrier what a terrible time for the alternator to fail. But! What a perfect PLACE to break down, because Murphy s took such good care of us. A+! What a gem!Services: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement, Auto engine diagnosticServices: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement, Auto engine diagnostic

Got towed off the highway, during morning traffic and went to Murphy's based on the Tow guy's recommendation. They were able to get my car in right away and fixed in the same day! Price was what I expected for the front end repairs that needed to be done. I was very pleased with their quick response to not only me but everyone else that walked through that door while I was waiting for a ride to work. Very personable people & would highly recommend to anyone.

Murphys have done many services to my vehicles and have always been very honest about my vehicle not needing something repaired or if I thought something was wrong with my vehicle getting it figured out especially when you don't know what those vehicle noises or vibrations are lol... they are far superior then the dealership in my opinion they are a great bunch of mechanics who know their stuff... I also especially in this day and age expect my bill to be way higher then it usually is so I would say that their rates especially compared to the dealer are phenomenal...Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Auto battery replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Auto tire replacement, Auto emissions testing, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance, Auto brake replacement, Battery, Oil change

Brought in my 09 Nissan Pathfinder for AC issues and a rattle underneath. Ended up needing a new exhaust and some AC work. The exhaust was fixed and no more rattle. As for the AC, here's the rest of the story---Haven't been there before, so brought the vehicle to the dealer when it experienced additional AC problems after Murphy's repaired it and said it would now be fine. I brought it back to Murphy's a couple times with the AC problem as it never seemed resolved. The dealer ended up diagnosing a compressor problem, the clutch mechanism, saying it needed a new compressor. Their cost was quite expensive so brought it back to Murphy's. Tom figured it was indeed now the compressor, but had a much lower cost than the dealer, almost half. I wish my AC worked after shelling out hundreds for a compressor, but it just was experiencing a cascading failure, one problem after another... As I've already put out too much money for the AC I cut my losses and didn't get the additional repair done, however, I believe they were being truthful at this repair shop. I've been screwed by other garages in the past and didn't know if I could trust them. Now I know I can.

We were happy they did a quick and efficient service on our truck, but be careful they also try to sell you things you don't need and for an astronomical amount of money. They did a great job, as long as you know what your talking about - I feel they would take advantage of you if you don't know anything about cars

This was the first time I had an issue with work done here. Tie rod, new brake pads and rotors all around, calipers in the back. When I drove away the brakes started pulsing hard, and making a noise. I called to report that something was wrong with a caliper that was put on or something. They said they only replaced the back. They also said the problem was most likely from a bearing problem. They make me an appointment for the next week. They replaced a bearing and a caliper and charged me for a warranty on the calipers they already put on the first time. If the problem was a bearing why another caliper, why now charge for warranty on calipers installed the previous visit? I leave and I still have the same problem! I go back and say I still havethe problem, and point to the receipt where I paid $800 for work that was supposed to fix it. They say you'll need another appointment! For the next week! My brakes aren't working properly! I just paid you $800 more to fix them. I went somewhere else for service. It was the other bearing, not the one they replaced. So, I didn't need that $800 worth of work done. It was the other side. Obviously there was no test drive done or they would have known that. So, after $2300 worth of work, I needed to take my truck to another service center for $400 more. That bothers me.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Refused a inspection because of a part I was told needed to be replaced... Which in fact had been replaced less than 24 hours be for brand new. I am very unhappy with the work ethics I experienced.
