Great experience- very friendly & honest! They even gave me a loaner car while my brakes were being replaced. The dealership next door doesn't offer loaners. They will be my shop as long as I live nearby.

The place is decent. I tried to give them my business, but Tommy hung up on me., I think he seems to enjoy being in a bad mood. If he is in a good mood, your car is safe.

I had a 29.99 coupon for an oil change but then I m told it s going to be 79.99?!?! How is that possible? I did it and I get the bill and it says 40 dollars for labor. This is why I don t go to these places and do my own oil chang. I go there so they can tell me if there s any issues and I ll go somewhere else to do the work because it s a rip-off. I only went here because I m getting rid of the car and wanted to make sure it was good to go but never again. Just not worth it. Ooo and when I left, my windshield wiper notification light came on. I guess they didn t check my fluids and add. Not right. Waste of money.

Tom and the women at this location are just phenomenal. They worked with my tire insurance to do the right thing by me and for my vehicle after noticing it did not receive the right kind of service initially. I ll definitely be back!

I was a walk in, in need of calipers and brake hoses. I've worked automotive for years but am not equipped to do this job on my own anymore. The mechanic, Tommy, had my car in the air with the wheels off within 20 minutes of showing up. His assessment of my brakes matched my own. He recommended pads and rotors, but did not object when I elected to do that on my own - I greatly appreciated his willingness to modify the service based on my specific needs. He had the repair done in less than 48 hours, which exceeded my expectations. Tommy stayed in communication throughout the repair and was clear with his service recommendations and price estimates. He kept my car clean, properly broke in the brakes, and I watched him perform a courtesy cleaning of the areas where he would be working on my vehicle.I fully trust the service recommendations, and the quality of work performed.Overall, the service was exemplary, and I strongly recommend using this location. Thanks!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

If I where the owner of this business and a customer left me such a review I would not send anyone to a website for a processing of the customers concerns. Especially when my manager has the phone number to call the customer. Potential customers beware of the serious lack of customer satisfaction they give. And the lengths they go to avoid reaching out to you Very good counter person at covering the company's not honoring their word!!!!!, just seem to be after every dollar they can get out of a customer. Look at the pictures I'm going to post. These are the reception area of the business. I was a little surprised at there sign "There will be a charge for estimates if work is not done . Unable to answer any questions without the ability to get something out of you is the complete vibe. I asked a hypothetical question about if the warrantieed part needed to be replaced would be offered to be done today? This surprisingly could not be accomplished. Unfortunately even with my car currently in their hands I have no faith in their business. They also very efficient and getting away from honoring their parts!!!IF YOU CAN'T HONOR YOUR WARRANTEES YOU SHOULD NOT BE SELLING THEM OR HAVE A FRANCHISE. MIDAS in Stratford Connecticut honoring it, why the cat and mouse game??? Oh shoot cat(Catalytic)Totally poor operation in my opinion. Thanks Tom for the call back (sarcasm)and like the rest of this operation talking at people and not to them . I really thought you might be a stand up person but your staff never intended to do anything about my case. Best thing about the visit where the Girl Scout cookies whom I would suggest not be associated with this company.Very weak response by owner! Halfhearted attempt to seem like he/she cares!!!! Do the right thing!!!! Your store has my phone number. Your reply was just as helpful as your employee's. Talk a good talk and your actions terribly. Get Tom to do the right thing and tell what he said he was going to do. Seems like hide behind your words instead of standing by them! At this point anything you or Your employee has to say is days late and BY NOT HONORING YOUR WARRANTEES TO ME COST ME A COUPLE OF THOUSANDS.Have a good day!!!!!

They're definitely pricey. I ended up paying $20 for just the evaluation alone. Then, they wanted to sell me $400 worth of parts because the mechanic said that neither the tailpipe nor the muffler could be salvaged. I asked around and ended up going to Mt Sinai Tire. They were able to get me a better price on the tailpipe, and use my existing muffler to do the repair, saving me more than 50% of what Midas wanted to charge. Lesson learned!

I'm from Buffalo and my son attends Stony Brook University. His car was in need of specialized repair and he went to a dealer. After weeks and no help or communication from the dealer we told him go to Midas in Centereach Long Island. From the very start they communicated and had our best interest at heart. Store owner Tom even went to the dealer to retrieve a part they neglected to give back to us. Store Manager Tracey(always pleasant) kept us up to date during the progress until completion. They even drove my son to and from his residence. After my son paid and left, Tracey found his credit card on the ground. She called us immediately and kept it safe until he came back. Dealing with this long distance was easier with Tracey and Tom. I highly recommend Midas for everyone's future auto needs.Larry NService: Auto exhaust system repair

They broke my 02 sensor while changing my oil. There was no way they could have gotten to my oil filter without touching it. Because of what they did, my vehicle did not pass their emissions inspection. Now I have a broken car and no new inspection sticker (they charged me for this inspection that I failed because of them). They asked me if I had issues with the car in the past, I told them it's a new car that I bought a year ago. Up until I brought it to Midas in centereach, I haven't had a problem with it at all. Now it doesn't want to accelerate, it keeps acting like it wants to stall and I had a bunch of lights go on on my dashboard (which none were on when I arrived). I called them when I left and realized how bad my car was running all of a sudden. They recommend I take it back to my dealership! They also sent me away with a recall form. When I looked at it later I realized that it was for an entirely different make/ model/ year car. Now my mechanic wants to charge me 200-300 to fix everything.Grace W.Services: Vehicle safety inspection, Oil change

They are very good here. My father and I both had issues on our vehicles recently, ranging from a major job with a transmission replacement to ac s not working to tires etc. they did a great job with all of them. They even fixed some minor things they didn t have to and didn t try and break me over the head for it. Hard to find trust worthy mechanics these days and I will def be returning for any future work I need done.

Save a headache and go to Mavis instead. The experience was night and day. Midas's prices online are not current and its a known issue but the company refuses to correct it. They want you to drop your car off and then hit you with the unexpected prices. I was quoted $30 more for each tire. They also fail NYS inspections for items you do not need (I got verification from another garage that I did not need a tire that Midas told me I did. Then they had the audacity to charge me a $25 restocking fee of a tire when I was smart enough to leave Midas without putting up my mortgage. You read that right, a tire supplier charged me a restocking fee of a tire. My experience cost me $200 at Mavis, if I was gullible enough to listen to Tracy at Midas, it would have been $600. Very honest, professional, polite service here. Tracy is the best. I had an issue today that I figured would cost me a few bucks, months after I had some lines replaced here. She didn t charge me and told me my current issue was under warranty. I was shocked and delighted. I highly recommend this shop. My car ran over a metal pipe on the LIE and it started making all sorts of weird noises. The owner of this Midas was able to quickly figure out that my driveshaft was broken. Since I was more than an hour away from home and it was too late in the afternoon to get a new part, he figured out a creative way to get my car running well enough to get me home. The price for this repair was very reasonable. This Midas was super clean and the staff did a great job with making customers feel comfortable despite worries about the pandemic. They also went the extra mile by locating a Midas closer to my home that would finish the repairs, and they also followed up by phone to make sure I made it home safely.

I happened to be passing this Midas shop when the tire light on my dash lit up.The guy was so nice. He checked my tires, filled them properly and taught me how to reset the light so it could be recalibrated.I expected he might charge me - but he didn t.That says a lot. If I lived nearby, I would always bring my car here! Thanks.

!!!DO NOT COME HERE!!! This place will trick you and scam you. I needed new front breaks and rotors so I had those replaced. He also cleaned my back breaks for me as well (which I did not ask for) When he was all finished with my front breaks, I left the place and immediately heard squeaking. The lady at the front desk told me there would be some squeaking for the first week or so because the breaks have to settle in. I brought the car back in because the squeaking would not stop. and now they are telling me I need back breaks and that the squeak was coming from the back and not the front which made me so confused at first but now I know what they did. They did a full break evaluation the first time and all they said I needed was front breaks. When they "cleaned" the back breaks they did something to them so I could take it back there and spend more money. They charged me $540 for breaks, rotors, and a rear break wash that I did not ask for. and then tried getting me to replace my drums and shoes for another $700-800. These people do not care about you they just care about ripping you off. These people WILL mess up more parts of your car to get you to come back and spend more money. Please be aware.

Brought my car in For an inspection. They said I would need a new back brakes in order for it to pass inspection and had a leak in my transmission couldn't tell me where it was coming from until I spent $85 to clean around transmission. So we got the brakes done because I needed you to be inspected as soon as we pulled out of the shop ABS brake lights went on didn't bring it back but called them right away two days later when did bring back they said it wasn't there fault it was some sensor I guess possible but I wonder why it happened as soon as they did the brakes. So I took the car to a transmission place they said it was a washer which is where the transmission was leaking and must've been really recent cost me $20.I have zero proof they did anything to the break sensor or the transmission it just seems really shady especially the brake light three minutes after they did the brakes. So just be careful

This place is bad... no proper communication... dropped a vehicle off for service and received a quote for about $200. Dropped off the vehicle around 11:00 AM, got a phone call and message 5:26 PM stating the vehicle was not finished and would be ready the next day. Spoke to personal Saturday morning and was told it was a little harder to the seasoned tech and would be finished later. I went to pick up the vehicle and was handed a $450. bill. Asked why I wasn't notified of an increase and was told that they left a message that it was harder but nothing about more money. I understand that during these trying and difficult times it's hard to have proper communication skills. this is just a sad sad story ... I definitely would not recommend this place

After getting my car serviced by the dealer, they recommended a change of my rear brake pads and rotor. I called midas for a quote and requested a quote via website. In 2 hours, I got a call with a quote. Very Impressive. I dropped it off first thing in the morning (8am) and was done around 1030. Good service and Tracey was super friendly!

CROOKS! I noticed my brakes start squealing 2 days ago. It has 40000 miles on it. I took it to one place that told me I needed new pads and rotors all the way around. They offered to show me the wear while it was still up on the hoist, so I looked, didn't see any abnormal wear, but I'm no expert and told them that I wanted to get another opinion. Besides, in my experience, if you change the pads when they first start squealing you don't do much damage to the rotors. Today, I took it Midas Centereach because I have dealt with Midas in Canada (my home) in the past. They told me that the front brakes looked good, but the back needed new pads and rotors. I figured that I must have been wrong about the rotors and told them to go ahead, but that I would like to see the parts after. Once all work was done, they showed me rotors that were VERY corroded, pitted and worn. I am 99% sure they weren't the rotors I saw on my vehicle yesterday, instead probably rotors they had pulled off some high mileage vehicle that had been abused. If the mechanic at the other place had showed me that kind of wear I would have had them switched in a second, and when I said I was getting another opinion, why wouldn't he point out the most possible wear to convince me to trust him!?!? Please don't make the same mistake as I did, avoid this place!!

I went to this location because earlier this year they replaces my rear brakes. Even though they were expensive they did a great job. Yet, I am extremly disappointed to see zero staff wore mask. The place had nothing clean about it. Customers had no requirement to wear mask and their was a since of irrogance and proudness about that and people at risk. I walked a few miles in each direction in the pouring rain to not stay in the waiting room. I worked in maintenance shops severals years of my life. No place has to be kept so dirty. Plus which has nothing to do with the above - their costs have risen. Not worth the health risk or price. Yet great receptionist - kind to all people.

I have had nothing but excellent experiences here. They have always been fair and honest, and have always provided me with solutions and advice on car care when I'm in a bind. I won't bring my car anywhere else for maintenance, service, and repairs.

OG of Midas in Coram is your most valuable employee. I have been to other locations in the past and have never received such professional and amazing service! From the moment I pulled up he provided excellent customer service, diagnosed my vehicle issue quickly, and fixed my vehicle EVEN THOUGH the store was about to close. His high level of professionalism and skill should be recognized. OG Is the best and I will be back to this location for my vehicle needs ONLY if he is working.

Called for a safety inspection for a 2013 car and an oil change, I was told the day prior my "appointment" was at 11:30 am and I would wait for the services to be performed as opposed to leaving my car there. I arrived at the shop at 11:31 am, it took the receptionist over 15 minutes to get to me (there was nobody else waiting to speak to her besides myself). At that point I was asked my information to pull up the "appointment"; the information was provided to her. She asked me "are you dropping off the car?" I explained to her I would prefer to stay with my vehicle as past experience has taught me; an oil change takes about 10 - 15 minutes, and a safety inspection on a car that's ONE year old takes another 10 - 15 minutes. Her response is "oh you want to wait, this process takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours" Are they kidding me?!So what is the point of taking the "appointment" if you're not going to perform the services at that specific time, additionally; How in the world could it take 2 - 2 1/5 hours. I smell a shop that would've created things that needed to be "corrected". I assure you, my car is literally; 14 months old and has 15,100 miles...what a joke.STAY AWAY from these crooks! Please keep in mind though; Midas is a franchise, so don't let crooks like these steer you from trusting another Midas shop.

With the way the roads are on this island my vehicle was bound to break. Honest and upfront in telling me what needed to be done. Seems like a lot of the negative reviews are people out of touch with reality. Cars cost money, you get what you pay for. Repairs are the same way. Thank you Midas! she runs like a beauty now!

Came in for an oil change and inspection, as my regular shop doesn't do inspections. I was told me I needed new front brake pads, rear shoes, and wheel cylinders. Quoted over $700 for what should be half of that price (again, just pads, shoes, and cylinders, no rotors or resurfacing). I replaced the pads and shoes, but the cylinders were bone dry. One of my front calipers was seized, I suppose that could have caused the fluid leak, so i'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and I appreciate that they didn't run the inspection before telling me about the brakes . But that's a pretty steep quote... if you're not comfortable doing your own work, you may want to call around.

I don t understand the bad reviews. The wonderful young lady at the front is always so sweet. Tommy the owner is always honest. It may hurt my wallet but at least I know once it s fixed it will be done right. Ive never had an issue on anything he s worked on. It s a busy shop, i m amazed at how many people came in and wanted things done right away and thought they were more important than everyone else who made appointments.

DO NOT GO HERE!! SCAM ARTISTS, BEWARE!! I called and said my brakes were bad but that i would take care of that and I had a drivetrain issue if i dropped it off could they let me know how bad of an issue the drivetrain was so i could decide if it's worth it to do any of the work. No problem drop it off. So I do, he calls me back and says you have a brake issue so we can't diagnose it unless you let us fix the brakes first. Are you kidding me!!! I told you that!! Now they want me to pay them for telling me that otherwise I can't pick up my car.STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
