Since this DMV is in my county, I usually give them a chance when I need something. Every time, I am disappointed. The policy on DMV website is 40 days or under, prior to your 21st birthday, you can renew your license for an over 21 license. Walked in with an appointment and got nothing but disrespect from them. A woman stated she refused to serve us because we could not renew unless it was within 2 weeks (14 days) of your 21st birthday. This is completely untrue. The NYS policy is 40 days or under prior to your birthday. Greene County DMV is not only rude, disrespectful, and acts inconvenienced by everything, but makes up their own policies outside of NYS law. From now on I will make the extra 10 minute drive to Hudson.

I went in this morning with all my proper paperwork to register a vehicle and the police met me at the door and gave me a number I looked around and there was at least 15 people by the time I left there was 20 and the same guy was still at the counter with the one DMV employee.They were in there, chitchatting and laughing I saw in the back there were plenty of people walking around they could ve covered down for the people who decided not to come into work today.Greene County wants us to keep our money and Greene County but every time I come to DMV it s a nightmare. I drive to Troy New York.I used to always go there. I m going to start going again. To register my vehicle should be 5 to 10 minutes. There has to be an express line or something..At Troy you can see the manager walking back and forth on the line helping people expediting everything. They even send an employee out to the line when it gets longer. That employee make sure everybody has their paperwork in their hand tells individuals want to show at the counter. The line goes so fast.Greene county clerk needs to send people down there to see how they operate. I m no fan boy for Troy. I m just saying they are the best in this area.I m not giving such a little mark just I am giving the little mark because overtime it s been constant miss management and slowness. When you finally get to the window, the Greene County employees are nice and helpful but you have to understand citizens have to work and don t have all day or 1/2 a day for that matter to spend at DMV.

Tried calling three times and they just hang the phone up. I understand They get busy but don't blatantly hang up on people. This is insane.

Okay no one loves spending a morning at DMV but we couldn t have had a better experience. Sure it took us 3 trips to collect all the necessary paperwork but Loraine was incredibly competent and patient as she guided us through the bureaucracy of the NY system. It took a few hours to get licenses and registration but the staff here really deserves an A+ for all their help.

It is hard for me to imagine rating and DMV office as 5 stars but have to say my experience here was great. I arrived about while the office was closed for lunch so had a brief wait. The group waiting was small and friendly. I needed to renew my drivers license and wanted to obtain a Enhanced Drivers license. I had less then a 10 minute wait once the office opened. The counter person was friendly and helpful. Once at the counter it took me less then 5 minutes to get my temp license, as the new permanent one is mailed.

smh horrible experience. these people are not online and do not answer the their phone and when you walk in they are extremely rude and talk to you like you are ignorant it is so belittling, not sure of her name but one of the lady s in there you should not be working with people CLEARLY.

My dmv experience has been so far so good .they have helped me out tremendously with.my registration stickers.thank you .I can't say thank you enough but my dmv in the village of catskill has been very helpful everytime I need to register or take the car off the road they have helped me out. So thank you I really do appreciate the help.

Have tried calling to schedule an appointment. Have been calling every 20-30 mins and every time I have to listen to that annoying message(they really need a shortcut). Anyways each time I call it rings 7 or 8 times and then disconnects. Absolutely absurd. Its not hard to pick up a phone and set up an appointment. Worst dmv ever.

As public servants you would think they would treat the public with more respect. Supervisor refused to listen to my concerns . And then when I DROPPED my phone on the counter by accident she proceeded to tell me "not to throw my phone at her" then told me to leave . Worst DMV In all of New York . Staff need to be trained in how a public servant should treat the people who pay their wages. Down right disgusting how Catskill NY DMV Staff treat people. Go to Hudson NY or to Albany NY . Don't need a appointment or get treated as if you just walked into a jail. It's a Public Building And Staff are public servants ! Start acting right! Albany office has be contacted.

I have never had a worse experience at a county building. The angry blonde woman at the main desk was extremely unprofessional, and unpleasant. Erika (I found out her name) needs to be fired! I was told to "cut the umbilical cord" while waiting with my sixteen year old daughter. My daughter and I were waiting to be seen so she could get her permit. You cannot ask that woman even a single question without getting yelled at by her obnoxiously, or having a rude comment come out of her mouth. This is the second time she was rude to me within a year.

The supervisor here is the most angry, hostile and incompetent individual I have ever encountered in any county office anywhere. She continued to rudely reject my paperwork, that was clearly in order. This happened THREE times. Finally, After nearly three hours of her nonsense, I contacted my insurance company who subsequently informed her that she clearly didn t know NY DMV protocol. Once it was demonstrated that she was in the wrong, she rudely approved my paperwork and abruptly stormed out of the office. Don t waste your time here with this arrogant, self absorbed lunatic.

Rude woman, wish i knew her name, was responsible for intake, idk.... asked my wife who was with me why she was there. We told her we were registering a trailer. She then demands to know if we're both on the paperwork, which we replied yes. She then mutters to herself about there being "too many people in here". I'd just like to say that harassment comes in all flavors. Perhaps I should have simply asked to see her manager as she was yelling and being needlessly confrontational towards folks as they came in. The clerk was exactly the opposite, she was courteous and respectful and took the time to address our concerns. If I could make one recommendation, send the rude folks to a back office where they can't chastise the public. If you work for the people, in any face to face setting, you should not be rude or confrontational. She should be re-trained at the least, disciplined if it continues.

My husband and I went into DMV with 1 hour on the parking meter, when our visit was complete we still had 21 minutes left. When we arrived we had 12 customers in line ahead of us, these ladies were very efficient and moved the line in a timely manner. We are lucky to have this office in our county so please use it!

Not sure what the negative reviews are about I guess no one really wants to go to the DMV. Still though this is probably hands down the best DMV I've ever been to. While every other DMV puts you on hold just to hang up on you throughout covid the Greene county DMV has still picked up the phone and provided fast easy and clear service.

The experience it self was horrible. The staff seemed ignorant, slow, and unfriendly. No common courtesy when asking for my debit card. Not a please or thank you. It was if they were trying do do all they could do to prevent progress and give decent service. For all things that can be done online I suggest you go that route. It is faster and easier. If for whatever reason you have to go to this DMV Pray you get better service than I did and that your wait time and all transactions are less than an hour.

Terrible. Made an appointment for my husband to get his license on Monday. His appointment was for Thursday at 3:30. They said do not be late since their office closes at 4 pm. He left work extra early to be there before his appt. Then got there and was told he had no appt.Inconsiderate of other peoples time and missing out on work because their receptionist forgets to put appointments. WOW .Hopefully will all these people out of work due to the pandemic they can find someone more suitable for the job; capable of logging appointments in their book without "forgetting". Now he has to miss out on work again because of THEIR mistakes.

I waited for over a half an hour this morning because they only had one person working. When I went back today at 4:25 PM I was told that the office was closed. Upon seeing many people still waiting I couldn t understand why. The guard it told me they close promptly at 4 thirty PM to any new Customers. It was not 430 yet and I was still turned away. Infuriating as I had to spend money on the parking meter again and walk a block to get there as I had this morning. Really poorly run .Like to keep the money in this county but will always renew by mail from now on.

Well the Trolls are back at DMV . For a long time things were good. Maryann Kordich was a doll and Mike Flynn and Marilyn Farrell are/were all excellent County clerks, but the disrespect of these other public servants is rampant. Not all but most are truly evil bitter people. Was turned away at 3pm for missing signature for a registration I was doing for my son. I Called my son to have him leave work and come to finish paperwork at DMV . We arrived 5 mins before close but were waiting in DMV office. We were then told by this troll with a haircut from the 70's that we didn't make her deadline.and she would not be serving us the door was locked. WE WERE ALREADY INSIDE! This was the same troll that knew I was calling my son to get him to sign his papers. She knew this! She is a spiteful miserable troll so hope you dont get her, be prepared for some problems. God bless Marilyn Farrell for having this beast as an employee I dont envy her.

Made an appointment for today, and they told me my appointment was tomorrow and would not serve me. The police officer there said that had been happening all day, people have the same conversation with the staff. In the private sector employees would see a trend and investigate the root cause and serve the customer. They just don t care....

Horrible horrible horrible experience every single time I go. I like to give everyone the benefits of the doubt because we are human and everyone has bad days but I ve come to the realization that everytime I step foot into the Catskill DMV the women working behind the counters are always rude, ignorant and inpatient. I went in the other day because my mom was turning her car into my name and there s was a bit of paper work that needed to be filled out, we missed a couple spots that needed signatures and also had a hard time understanding some of what needed to be filled out. Rather than being respectful and understanding that we didn t have the knowledge of someone who has been working at DMV for 20+ years they were rude and made us feel incompetent. I go to Catskill DMV because it is closer than the Albany location but I will be taking the extra 20 minutes to go to Albany from now on. Do not recommend.

The most horrifying experience I've ever had in Dmv. I made an appointment and even asked what documents I needed to bring but when we got there tax returns are not eligible proof of address... Uhm since when, its a government document where you have to prove your address. Then I asked politely to speak to her supervisor because w2 should be allowed as well and she said being the clerk who sits outside the office to check peoples documents before entering that she is the highest supervisor there and that she is the only one in charge of making decisions yeah that's why you are there at your age sitting in front of not even in a dmv all day long looking so like you hate your paycheck. I am so sorry, I can't believe that the highest supervisor there and the one that makes all the decisions doesn't even know what forms are government accepted.

Attitude attitude attitudes. God only knows how many times I have gone there being told "you need to bring these documents" only to return to find out they need more. Photo ID is good enough to get me across the border but the DMV needs a stool sample with it. Never update any personal information on the forms you fill every time you go. Their "scheduling" appointments in response to COVID is an absolute joke. You cant book a day and time. .? Thats IF you can even get through when calling. People work for a living and need flexibility. Their whole model is outdated and wasteful.

I was miss informed and given the run around by a Very Rude and Nasty Clerk named Leslie working at the Green County, Catskill location. I spoke with the Columbia County Director name Bob and the Drivers Improvement worker named Chuck who BOTH told me that this Clerk named Leslie was incorrect. She should be ashamed of her self and I will be sending a letter to Albany about my experience. The clerk continues to refuse to enroll me into my class when I have all of my appropriate paperwork. She also yell at me over the phone on 3 different occasions. I'm disgusted .I have reached out to the commissioner and made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

The woman I was talking to this morning had a horrible attitude! She did not want to help answer any of the questions I or help in any way. I can not believe people that government worker treat us like this. I hope NY starts to offer more online services to get away from dealing with their horrible, ungrateful empolyers!

Not happy. Took my mother there because she has trouble hearing and waited 2 hours to register her car. 2 tellers working and took turns going to lunch. When finally seen she entered info wrong and had to start over after uncontrollably coughing everywhere..worth the time to drive to albany dmv.. this is why no one goes to carskill.
