I live in Schenectady and commute to teach at Catskill Elementary School. I was driving in and about three miles from exit 21 on I-87 when my front tire blew out. John from Gallagher s Garage came out as the local AAA tow. He was so nice and towed my car to Mavis Tire where he went in and asked if they had my size tire in stock. They did and John even dropped me off at the school so I could teach while my tire was being changed. He was super nice and helpful. I was grateful for the tow and ride to work!Thank you John, Gallagher s Garage, and Mavis Tire for taking great care of me and my car.Yvonne

Called today to get my car towed.. Was told they cant do it, then hung up?....Towing service that can't tow. By the reviews I'm glad I didn't waste my money

Gallagher's Garage is amazing! I did not use their mechanic shop, so I can't comment on that, but their tow service was the best I have ever come across!I ran into mechanical trouble on my way home to NJ from Hudson, NY. It was 19 degrees out and I had to get home, so I decided to just pay the tow overages through my insurance company. Gallagher's was the top tow company in the area according to USAA, and I now know why. I planned to just leave the car, but Joshua showed up in less than 45 minutes.He clearly has been doing this for a while. He was super professional and was very knowledgeable. He loaded my car up with no problems for a 2 hour long haul ride. About 30 minutes after I got home in northern NJ my car was here. He unloaded the car in the driveway, and parked it perfectly so I could deal with my car at a later date.If I did not immediately have to get home I probably would have tried out their mechanical shop. If I ever need another random tow or mechanical work in that area, they will be my first call! I really cannot express just how fortunate I was to get a driver like Joshua. Thank you Joshua and Gallagher's Garage for making a very stressful and intense situation a breeze! A+

My 19 year old sons car broke down on the thruway and his car was towed here. This was an hour and a half from our home. They did fix the car, however when we picked it up the service was unreal. I actually do not think I have ever received worse customer service in my lifetime. The lady at the front was rude and almost mean. The place was filthy and they did not even have a rest room for their customers. 3 stars though, because the car was fixed and at a reasonable price. It was just the customer service was so bad, I don't understand why or how a business can be successful when they treat people that way.

Wonderful experience in an otherwise miserable situation. Not only did Gallagher s tow our vehicle to CA Albright for repairs (another great experience), the tow truck driver dropped us off at a hotel on the way. Amazing customer service and warm, friendly, caring drivers. Highly recommend!

I'm new to the trucking business. This was my first road side service call. I called around and found these guys. They arrived within 30 mins and had me back on the road within an hour. Rates are extremely affordable. If you ever get stuck near Catskill NY give them a call. You will be 100% satisfied.

On Sunday afternoon April 25th I broke down in catskill ny not far from home. I called my roadside assistance provider and they dispatched gallaghers garage. Josh the driver was there in a reasonable amount of time , loaded my pickup and then had to hookup the trailer I was towing to the flatbed. This young man did eve he could to try and start my truck but to no avail he was extremely knowledgeable, very professional and not to mention had a very nice personality. I truly appreciate to top notch service that he gave me.

My car got towed on the sunday after Christmas aoff of i87, when I called to figure out how to get my car back the manager, hung up on me and told my "she going to call the cops if I keep harassing her ". Very rude customer service. There no issues with my car just had an miss communication with my dealer and my plates . Even with the correct plates on the same day they wouldnt let me car back which Is because they are closed on Sunday but the manager was telling me the opposite of the police instructions. She didnt seem to know the legal side of things. Hoping to get my car back the next day, terrible customer service.

These folks are the best! Stranded on I87 on the shoulder, my insurance company kept me on the phone for so long my phone died. Scared to death, with semi's whizzing by & almost dark, eventually a special forces officer arrived & got me to safety, called Gallagher's Garage & the driver was there in a few minutes. I'm sure he was exhausted because he'd just been helping at the wreck that held up traffic for over an hour due to a truck fire, which is why my car over-heated. Ever so kindly he got me safely to his cab, drove me to the garage and then HOME! I'm sure he was starving after an exhausting day, but was as careful with my car and ME as anyone I could've ever hoped for. On top of that my insurance company, yet again, wouldn't help me, saying I'd sent my receipt to the "wrong" address- the address on my card! I called Gallagher's and the woman I spoke with was terrific and offered to send me not one, but two copies of my receipt, just in case. Now this is the kind of kindness we need in these troubled times. I give them my highest recommendation and sincerest thanks!

I was referred to this Garage by a local Chevy dealer. I called and spoke to a lady who promised she would get back to me within an hour. It has been two days and me calling numerous times to replace my Isuzu NPR front brakes. When I spoke to them the final time, they said it will have to wait at least 7 days and the original Isuzu dealer brakes I had already purchased they can t accept which was bad but ok. Then, I mentioned the fact that they should of just told me from the very start about the wait time, and when I did they hung up and said to go someplace else! Terrible customer service and highly not recommended.

Broke down on on the thruway (I-87) and after speaking with authorities they dispatched a truck certified for the thruway, got Joe from Gallagher's Garage shortly thereafter. Joe was quick and courteous and got my vehicle dropped off at my house. Couldn't have been happier with the service!

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, my wife, my two dogs and I were driving from southern Vermont back to our home in south jersey. The alternator in our honda civic died on the NY thruway, near Catskill NY.There was definitely some panic but we called the state troopers and they connected us to Gallagher's. In less 20 minutes, driver Matt was there to help us.He was very courtious and kind and immediately got to work getting the car on the bed and getting us to a safe place. He made sure my dogs were settled and we got to a text stop a couple miles away.My wife and I called our parents and worked with Matt to figure out our next move. Because of a big snow storm that was going to hit the area the next day and possibly last for 2 days, my wife and I decided to do the long haul and get the car home to a trusted mechanic instead of having it towed to a nearby mechanic and having to figure out a hotel situation.Matt was patient and VERY knowledgable. He was incredibly kind and he worked very closely with us and was very diligent in helping us figure out where to go next. Getting all the way back to south jersey would have been too far for him but thankfully he got us as far as he could and immediately went to work making sure he would drop us off in a safe and warn location. Especially considering we had two dogs.We ended up finding a 24 hour QuickChek in north jersey. And while it was still a long haul for Matt he was more than willing to help us. Before he left, he made sure to give is a jump, and it was enough for us to get the heat going for a short time. Which was just enough to warm up the car while waiting for the next tow.Overall we are incredibly thankful for Matt's help. He was incredibly trustworthy and i really felt like he had our backs. He was VERY kind and courtious. He was truly a godsend during a very difficult situation.I hope he was able to get back to NY safely and I hope he sees this review and sees just how thankful we are. Matt is a truly wonderful person and i hope he gets the recognition he deserves at work.

I didn't appreciate the way I was treated. The owner could use a few pointers on good customer service skills, because they don't have any.When trying to run a business you should always take care of your customers. Our company does business with Gallagher's and provides them with tens of thousands of dollars a year. Keep that in mind when looking for service!

Not only did I receive a tow but I had a guy who brought me to Advanced Auto. All he had to do was leave me there but he went beyond the call of duty knowing that I was 2 hours away from my house. He helped me find the part that broke on my car and fixed it on the spot. Not all hero wear capes but the hero of yesterday was JOE!-LastOfRKind Reviewz

I stopped because my car had trouble 2 xs first time the guys helped me no problem they were so kind and respectful. The guys there made sure I got home safe. Thank you. 2nd time Christi who works for the garage in the office just so happen to be locking up and was more than helpful went above and beyond to make sure she referred me to some One that could help me get home safe until my mecanic could fix my car close to my home. thanking you so much! They were attentive on not just calling me back with a price yet were able to let me know if they were able to repair my vehicle that is still in their possession. I will be refering customers to them if they are ever in that area for any reason.

Was blown away by the tow truck driver with gallagher's our tire blew on the side of the thruway while He was passing by. He stopped and backed up his truck to see if we needed a tow. We said no, just trying to change a tire. He jumped right in to help us out. Any one who has been stuck on the thruway with a flat with four children under seven I am sure can appreciate just what that meant to us. Not once did he ask for a some. I will keep them in mind when I am in need of a tow or repair.

One of our trucks had a load shift due to improper bracing and securing at the shipper.Gallagher's Garage was the only service in the area that offered a loading dock necessary for load re-stacking. We were quoted $100 labor per hour, and $150 per hour for the forklift, which seemed reasonable considering the circumstances.What they failed to mention is that they would put 4-5 people on the job and charge $500 per hour, with a total of over $2500 for a 5 hour Job.When confronted about it,the vice manager was very rude and unprofessional,kept hanging up the phone on me. After 5 hang ups,the manager answered the phone, and said that she does not have bunch of "CHEAP ILLEGAL MEXICANS" working in her shop,and threatened to call the state police if we called again.Use severe caution !!! Get any charges in writing before getting any kind of work done.Gallagher's Garage should be avoided at all costs.Not only are they over inflating the charges, but they also take advantage of hard working American companies in need of help.

Breaking down on the NYS Thruway can be a dicey situation. You truly are at the mercy of whom ever shows up to assist. Gallagher's driver "Matt" was the salt of the earth. He was prompt, cautious and courteous. I hope his employers know this.....as well as any future customers.

I wouldn't give this business 1 star they are extremely RUDE the worst customers service I've ever dealt with and I talked to the owner! I wouldn't recommend this place to my ex. If you are broke down and need a tow but cannot reach another towing company id suggest pushing the car your self it would be less of a hassle and honestly more enjoyable then dealing with this company.

This is the first time I have to prepay for a service before is done, they didnt want to get my truck towed because they want it to get paid first, I explained to the lady that I talk to that the driver had a company card and that he would pay them when the service was completed, it seems that because they heard my accent they thought I didn't have money to pay
