Justin and Vax Moto are the best garage and mechanics available in NYC, hands down.I ve been working with Justin for a couple years now, and he is incredibly responsive (even willing to communicate/meet on weekends if need be, as much as I try not to do that - sorry Justin!), responsible (gives as accurate a timeline as possible for repairs, shows up on time for pickups and drop offs, keeps good records, notifies of any issues while also not advocating for unnecessary repairs, the list goes on ), and he is great to work with.I have a bike from 1974 and am not overly mechanically inclined, and I trust Justin s opinion and advice completely. His prices are great and the work he and his mechanics do is top notch even for very difficult/exploratory repairs. I haven t had a single issue with a repair he and Vax have done.The atmosphere at Vax is great; Justin has built a community rather than just a garage. I would highly recommend using him for any level of service, including membership, repairs, and storage.Services: Electrical repair, Engine repair, Brake service & repair, Oil change

$60 for removing 2 seized bolts is straight disrespectful and dishonest.Edit: Deducted star because found out one of the bolts that they replaced ended up being stripped.

Justin is a great guy and very easy to communicate with. Was honest from the first contact and clear about everything that needed to be done and potential issues we might encounter with my bike.He and Sal did a great job on my bike, and when a problem with the parts I took for him to install appeared, he dealt with it like a champ. Also very fair price! Will only take my bike there for now on.

Needed help finding a solution to an issue with my motorcycle that other mechanics could not solve.The first day I stepped into the store,Justin was very knowledgeable and helpful and helped me get the part I needed to fix the problem.I came back and Sal did an excellent job installing the part,while giving me some more knowledge on my bike. 10/10 would recommend.Very friendly,professional, and knowledgeable.

Justin and Sal are way more giving, patient, responsive and just kind than so many local motorcycle service departments. They listen to you, don't interrupt or forcefully talk down to you. I had an issue for the fifth time at the same local dealer, took it here this time instead and they went above and beyond to diagnose, examine, and fix the problem. Communication and scheduling was honest and constant and true. Bike is running better and smoother than when I took it in. I don't know if we deserve this place.

A belated, long overdue review on Vax Moto. I brought my Grom here back in early October to get my rear wheel professionally patched.I missed Justin the first time I had arrived. Best to phone ahead of time to let him know when you're coming by!I found Justin to be pleasant and welcoming. Easy to talk to, and quite thorough with answering my questions over the phone.Took about an hour to patch the bike. A seamless and painless experience. Thank you, Justin!Service: Tires

A couple of honest, knowledgeable, hard working guys. No over charging and suggesting unnecessary repairs. You don't get that feeling of being taken advantage of that you get from other mechanics, which is huge for beginner riders.

The owner, Justin, was super friendly and helpful, going way out of his way to help me find a good home for my KTM Adventure. The place is a motorcycle wrenching paradise - the perfect place to be if you like working on your own bike. Strongly recommended.

After calling several motorcycle repair shops about two mopeds i purchased online, this was the only place helpful enough to spare me more knowledge about my mopeds. Was very informative about it being hard to find a mechanic for them but told me where to look. If i had a real motorcycle, i would take it to them regardless of what their prices are, sometimes its more about the customer service and giving a peace of mind to the customer rather than putting the money in your pocket and have them guessing. Hope to be a customer here in the near future!

I do most of the work on my auto and bike so I'm very particular about who gets their hands on my stuff. On a cold December day, I let them change both my tires. The rate is good and job was done well. Justin the owner is great guy and friendly. They also pick up whenever you call which is nice. If you decide to stop by, you pretty much get a free ticket to a motorcycle gallery too. Big shop, clean place. Would come back to them again.

One of Brooklyn's best kept secrets. My hubby has been having his bike serviced elsewhere for years. He found this spot by accident, now he says this is the only place he will trust to touch his bike. After visiting the spot, he called all his buddies and gave them the address. The shop is setup very nicely, especially to a bike lover. The owner & mechanic are friendly and professional.

This review goes out to Sal in particular. I had a charging system issue where my battery wouldn't hold proper charge and wanted to install an aftermarket horn + relay. I figured I had a stator/rectifier issue and brought it to Sal. He had it in the shop an entire week and said he couldn't find an issue. Then when I told him I wanted to pick it up he finally "found" the issue. He told me to bring the stator/rectifier and battery that I told him I had and to order a gasket cover (said I couldn't reuse the current one or it'd leak) which would come in ANOTHER week. Came to pick up the bike and he didn't even install the horn or relay and charged me $125 for a "diagnosis" despite never actually finding the source issue. Said he would only take cash even though I've paid with card before. Long story short I did the job myself, found that a stator bulb was completely burnt out so I changed the stator, regulator and battery myself. Horn too. Problem solved. He never bothered to even check it. I also reused the gasket cover w/ some sealant and 0 leaking. Sal got an easy $125. Wasted my time and my money. ONLY reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they've done fine work on my previous bike. But I'm thankful I didn't bring it back to him. It was a learning experience for me. Justin's cool though

I keep my motorcycle here. Fantastic garage, huge selection of tools, 24 hour access, convenient to trains and great community of riders / wrenchers at all levels. I looked at many other facilities across the city and Vax is definitely a standout. Highly recommended.

In July of 2016, the clutch cable on my motorcycle snapped in Brooklyn a week before a long overseas trip. Being from the DC area, I had to find a mechanic quickly that could repair the bike, and hold onto it until I got back. Justin @ Vax took care of the bike, fixed it, and stored it for a surprisingly low fee. The bike now shifts much better than it ever has. I thank him very much for helping me out, and would recommend him to anyone in the New York area for repairs.

This facility is like no other I've seen. In addition to the parking bay with storage space and electric hookup, theres a great community of other motorcycle owners to hang with. I keep my BMW R1200GS here, and do its service on one of the four lifts. It's secure, convenient, I have a card for 24 hour access -- what more could a motorcycle owner want? Oh, yeah -- Justin, the owner, is friendly and helpful.This is the closest thing most people in the city can have to their own garage and workshop -- it's worth it.

These guys know what they're doing, are honest, and reasonable. They helped me debug the electronics on my xs650 after the previous owner ruined everything. I really trust these guys, and store the bike there during the winter.

When there to ask if they can do tuneup on a Chinese mopetUnfortunately they couldn't but this guys where so helpful giving me where to find and how... this guys are awesome ill definitely will trust this guys in the future...By the way I didn't ask for this guy name with glassesAlso they put some jackets outside (motorcycle jackets)Giving them for free wow I got one ...
