These folks are helpful, polite and professional. I called up wanting to get my mother's car up and running after 2 years of just sitting around. In the morning, they came to my home, jumped the car, took it to their garage and brought it back by 4. When I tried the car, it ran smoothly and all systems worked perfectly. They even took it someplace to clean the exterior of the grime! I wish I had taken before and after photos of the car to show the difference. As a "new" car owner, they even offered me advice on how to deal with the DMV which I appreciated. And finally the fees they charged me were reasonable actually lower than what my neighbors said I should expect to pay. I highly recommend them.

These guys are great. Been in the neighborhood so long, folks come by to catch up on the changes, see who's still alive, who might have passed away. Experience mechanics, they move slow, but the work gets done fast, and they'll talk with you, think your problem through. Old school car guys with a bright smile and visitors welcome to the sidewalk bench. A clean shop and they cost less than most other places. What more could you ask for?

Brought my car here the other day: disaster. The best thing I can say about this place is that they are kind. I brought my car when my headlights started failing. They told me to come over right away. I brought my car, they said they would call me within the hour to discuss what they had found and talk about price. Four hours later, I called them. They told me there was nothing wrong with my headlights, they were working perfectly (despite the fact that the night before they had shut off every minute until I kicked the dashboard and turned them back on). I told them that I had found an article online (the one that told me to kick the dashboard) that said there was something wrong with the LCM. They said they would call me back. I said ok, but I need my car by 8am the next morning for a 3 hour drive to work, each way. They didn't call me back, and the next day, I show up at 8:10, my car is not ready to go. After waiting for about 15 mins for someone to come talk to me, the "boss" came to me with a black box in his hands. He said there was a recall on my LCM, and pointed to a printout of the recall. So he had removed it. He told me I could go and buy the part and bring it back and he could put it in.After spending hours on the phone with various dealers, I found out that the LCM SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED! The recall was for a rewiring kit that would be installed in the LCM. Additionally, if I wanted to buy the part to bring to this guy, I could spend hundreds of dollars. Alternatively, I could go to a Ford Dealer and have the recall repair done for free. He didn't tell me that. He charged me for labor and told me to come back. The LCM is the part of your car that is in charge of headlights, blinkers, brake lights, and your horn. I drove 6 hours in NY traffic without any of those. These guys are hacks. They don't know what they're doing and they were trying to get me to spend hundreds of dollars for a service that they knew I could get for free.

I don't trust mechanics and never have due to past experiences.Another mechanic fixed my car and broke the sensor. The coolant sensor was stuck and deteriorating on my truck. They were able to do a miracle and fix it.I didn't tell them but I checked with my friends professional sensor error code reader. Truck has NO ERROR codes. Great prices. Ask for Mr. Pender when you go.

The true definition of "no b.s.". The guys took care of the job start to finish with absolutely minimal headache. If I had gone anywhere else, I would have been financially ruined. They did the job right and at the right price. I'll be coming back if necessary and would recommend them to anyone.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

When my car stopped on Eastern Parkway, the guys at Tar-Hill diagnosed and fixed the issue. They care about doing a thorough and high-quality job, and they don't talk down to you. I will definitely be back!
