I have been a customer and fan of Motorgrrl for almost 20 years and can't say enough good things about this shop. Val, the owner and her team have transcended the typical repair and storage shop into a thriving community hub that caters to riders of all levels.Motogrll's welcoming atmosphere fosters a sense of camaraderie that's hard to find elsewhere. Whether you're a crusty, experienced rider or a newbie on your first bike, you'll be embraced by a community that shares your passion for all things motorbikes. The shop's commitment to inclusivity and respect is truly apparent and commendable. The team of knowledgeable and experienced mechanics, Frank specifically, is amongst the best I have come across. They're well-versed in handling a variety of makes and models. .They consistently strive for top-notch work and results, and they stand by their work, which is rare these days.Beyond just repairs and storage, Motogrll also offers a range of workshops that cater to riders of all skill levels.Establishing themselves in the Williamsburg/Greenpoint community, Motogrll has become a trusted pillar for riders. Their dedication to their craft, combined with the welcoming community they've built, makes every visit more than just a pit stop it's an experience. Here's to Motogrll, a place where passion meets expertise, and where riders find not just a place to get their bike wrenched, but a second home. Looking forward to many more years of exceptional service, neighborhood hangs and welcoming faces at Motogrll!

I was a member of the community garage for 6 months and have used the winter storage option as well. The whole staff is awesome, friendly, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. I was successful in getting an old 1975 Honda CB500T up and running, my very first attempt at rebuilding a beater. Learned a lot and wouldn't have been able to do it without some help from the guys who work there. Definitely check this place out!

Horrible experience with this shop. Took bike in for a diagnostic, along with 2 brand new batteries for load testing. One of the batteries came back with the negative terminal broken off, useless. The diagnostic was wrong saying I needed only a stator for $300 when it was shown to me by another shop I needed a rectifier as well, both purchased by me - not the alternate shop for way less. Finally Motorgrrl gave the bike back without re-attaching the stator wires! I have neither the tools nor the knowledge to have taken off the fairing. The photo shows how the bike was returned to me. Do NOT recommend this shop.Services: Electrical repair, Battery

I came to the Motorgrrl today trying to figure out why my USB charger was not working. I'm a rookie motorcyclist who literally bought a bike 2 weeks ago. Valerie went above and beyond to help me with fixing the problem and she did not want to take any money. Did not find a better way to say THANK YOU rather than to buy this amazing Icon Upstate Flannel Riding Shirt! Definitely will be back again!Service: Electrical repair

Motorgrrl Always comes to my rescue! I really don't know where to start. It is great to have a one stop shop! Everytime I have needed work on my bike,it has been done in good time fair priced. And done right! Before work is done ,I am fully informed on what is needed, and what can be done to improve my bikes function ( it's vintage, and I needed to get more things done sometimes) I have taken classes, learned a lot, met some great like minded people there, and I have been to some badass events there too! I look forward to going back and getting my bike ready for spring. feel lucky to have found this place! Thank you Val and Motorgrrl staff!

I went to 6 shops physically for an estimate, and called roughly over 15 shops across NYC for an quote on a fork repair after insurance totaled my bike.first and foremost i d like to say HUGE thanks to Val at the front desk not only did she fit my bike in the day of (unheard of, most places didn t have availability for a week or two) by this shop MotorGrrl did it for 1/3rd the cost of what anyone was asking!they re honest, upfront and will not play games trying to get you to buy unnecessary things. they got the job done within 48 hours both times.guys this is no joke, this is the choice shop in NYC for motorcycles / MX repair!

Went in to get my rear tire patched. (ran over some nails) They did a great job and did it correctly. Also ordered a new set of tires. It's a bit more expensive but if it's done well it's worth it. Also, I currently have a Yamaha XSR 700 so it can be a bit hard to find a good spot in this neighborhood of V-twins. Glad I walked in.

Have gone there several times for service, and this last time was yet another great experience with the team. Jeff took great care of my bike and was an excellent communicator throughout the whole process. They gave me a quote, detailed the cost of parts and labor, and had it turned around super quickly. The first time I went in was for a new rear tire and a fork rebuild, and this last time was a busted spoke replacement. Both times were easy experiences at fair prices.Val and her team are running an A+ shop, charge fair rates and I love that I get to support a local, independent and female-owned business.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair

I was pleasantly surprised with how honest and fast the shop was with my repair. I have a Vespa GTS 300 with 24,000 miles on it and it would not start. After ruling out the usual problems, they found that the compression was low in the engine. I was almost willing to scrap the Vespa I love, because it would have cost a lot to rebuild the engine. I agreed to their estimate because I wanted to keep using it. The next day, the Vespa was ready and they told me all they had to do was adjust the valves. Robot on Scooterwest/Vespa Motorsport recommends valve adjustments every 12,000 miles on the older GTs. I never did it, so that makes sense. Even though I agreed to their initial estimate, I was only charged for 2 hours of service and a needed spark plug. This included the diagnostic and repair time! This is not the first time they found a minor manifestation of a major problem. A couple years ago my engine light was on and the bike was sounding terrible. Another shop said I needed a new computer and that they couldn't do it. I rode it slowly to Motorgrrl and all it needed was an O2 sensor. One hr labor and the part on the same day saved me a lot of money. I always recommend this shop to all my Vespa buddies.Service: Engine repair

I raised my review. The one star was due to bitterness. They are high priced and charge double labor for "vintage" bikes. Otherwise... great place for storage and fantastic at fixing a punctured tire in a pinch. Many places will make you buy a new tire from them. One mechanic told me what my electrical problem was and how to fix it (no charge). Although he was wrong, it worked out fine as he gave me a good place to start.

Brought my bike in after an accident. They discovered some other issues and successfully diagnosed the problems. I agreed the the fixes and they quoted me 2 weeks. What makes them them stand out is that they communicated with me every step of the way, shared changes to the invoice in timely fashion, finished the work in the quoted time, and answered every novice question I had with a smile. They took the time to explain every facet of the work that they were doing. And the result is the best ride I have ever had on my bike. It feels safe and comfortable. Are they the cheapest? No. But good, professional work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good. This was the best experience I have had with a repair shop. They earned my business and made a customer for life.

I've been taking my bike here for repairs, oil changes, and winter storage for a couple years now. I've never had a bad experience. Everyone is very professional and nice. Whenever there was an issue with my bike, they walked me through it until I fully understood what the issue was. Pricing seems comparable to other shops as well. Great people. Great organization.

My high-miles Ducati Monster needed a valve check and adjustment and throttle body balancing. I used their $25/day workspace access to do most of the work myself and then did 1-on-1 tech instruction for the more intense part of swapping out the shims on two valves. The whole team was so nice, welcoming and helpful. Their lead tech, Frank, clearly has a wealth of knowledge and my bike is running flawlessly. Being on a budget, it was awesome that I could pay $25 to do a majority of the work and then get help for the tougher parts. I'll absolutely be going back!

First of all I would like to start off by saying these guys are not only great mechanics and moto enthusiasts, they have a great community and fun events for anyone looking for some friendly riders to hang out with during bike season. Now to the repair/maintenance portion. The servicing on my bike was quick and decent priced. Jeff has been very friendly and helped me understand what exactly was wrong with the bike. These guys have a passion for motorcycles and know how to put effort into bikes that need a little love. Thank you guys I look forward to bike season!

This shop is a godsend. I bought my first bike a little over a year ago and could not find a mechanic in NYC who would even diagnose it. I own a 78 Yamaha XS750 and everyone who I spoke to was vague about when they would be available and what service would even cost. I actually got really discouraged and considered getting a brand new motorcycle just to avoid dealing with mechanics. MotorGrrl was incredibly professional and knowledgeable about diagnosing and fixing my bike. My bike is handling great and my love for motorcycling has been completely renewed! They will be my first call going forward for all bike related issues.

I've been bringing my early 70's Honda here for the past year or so. Val and Frank have worked out all the kinks in my ridiculous electrical system and my bike has been running reliably ever since. They're thoughtful, courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. Always accommodating and conscious of finding reasonably priced solutions.

Went in for an inspection on my bike and this was my experience:- the service was fast and friendly- they reserved an hour to conduct a diagnostic and the inspection. That said, they finished the work in half the time and only billed me for half-an-hour- the folks working there are extremely knowledgeable and offered a lot of insight into my bike- they close for lunch at 1:00pm on Saturdays, but they stuck around till 1:20pm to talk to me and share their thoughts on my bike's condition with meI had a great experience. I'll probably go back in the future to fix my bike and to get further inspections done. I recommend you check this place out for yourself as well.BTW - bike inspections are $6 (pass or fail) and service (for bike diagnostic and fixing) is $125/hour (or something like that).

Valerie and her team are amazing. I'm new to all things motorcycle so learning to do my own maintenance has been challenging. They were extremely helpful, gave advice on how best to handle an issue, and supplied the tools I didn't have. Great shop

The guys are great. It is a big, clean, high quality shop. I recently bought my first bike/scooter (used Vespa) that needed a bit more work than I was first imagining. They ve been extremely patient with guiding me trough the process with multiple advices how not to overspend on my old scooter. Their price was a fraction of the vespa s dealership quote. If you live in NYC I can t recommend it more.Great and personalized service from beginning to end
