I had my battery replaced here about 6 months ago. My vehicle was due for an inspection this month and I went to another auto shop for an inspection where they told me, to my surprise, that my battery was not connected to my vehicle properly, and that they need to re-correct my battery which would reset my car memory. This reset meant that I would have to hit a certain mileage (drive another 100-300 miles) on my car before my car was "ready" for an inspection. After conducting a few long drives, I went back to I & B Repair and they ran an inspection, which I failed because my car was not ready, and they charged me for it. Before an auto shop does an inspection, they must check if the car is "ready", which auto shops provide for free. I know this because I went to two other shops which checked if my car was ready yet, for free. If the car is not ready, they do not run the inspection because that is a guarantee fail. The mechanic did NOT check if my car was ready before running the inspection. So, this car shop is the reason my car was not "ready" for an inspection in the first place, then they failed my inspection because my car was not ready! What a joke!!!! Also, they demanded I pay cash, when in the past I have paid with card. They did this so I could not dispute this charge.I went back there with my mother, because clearly they thought that they can get away with making money off of a young girl. They told me and my mother that the "monkey" (a racist comment) who installed my battery was at fault, who no longer works there, and then they told me to go f*** myself.NEVER go here. Not only can they not perform basic tasks as an auto shop, but they are racist and rude. Do not give this business any money!!Services: Vehicle Inspection, Vehicle safety inspection, Battery

Avoid at any cost. Came in to do a simple inspection. The guy made me wait for 10mins in heat than came up put a meter on my window and said can't do inspection because of your tints. The problem is that I do not have tints period, and his meter showed 0.0 If they are incompetent to that regard, can only imagine what they can do to your carService: Vehicle Inspection

I have used them many years and they are polite and do an excellent job. When a light goes on or something does not sound right I call them and they tell me what to do. When I get something fixed they have me come back a few times and make sure all is well. When I am going out of town I have my van serviced before I go. They are honest and reliable. My car broke down in the Hamptons and I had it towed to Brighton Beach to be serviced there. I recommend them highly. Bring in your car before 9am for after that they are busy.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

Had been unable to complete my yearly inspection because of a software mismatch for my passenger car weight. The NYS DMV recommended trying another inspection station. I found I & B online. They were local and had high ratings. The mechanic did a proper inspection, including the entire undercarriage, done on a lift. They were also able to bypass the weight glitch, so the inspection could be properly completed. I was also made aware that my car no longer required an emissions test, so I saved $30 bucks. Smart and honest. Highly recommend!

Didn't put back 6 bolts, had to do 3 of them myself and the other 3 are lost so now I have a loose piece rattling around. Didn't put my engine cover back on because he couldn't figure out how to open the hood, even though I've had 10 other mechanics figure it out without a problem.If you deal with the owner, he'll weirdly demand a tip from you. Never heard of tipping an auto mechanic in my life, unless they go above and beyond (which he didn't). I know mechanics and they say that's strange and not expected.Also be ready to pay in cash or be charged extra (on top of the 'tip')Services: Engine repair, Brakes

Had problems with transmition. Called them, they said to bring the car to them, they ll take a look. Brought the car (i paid for tow truck). Mechanic told me they will take a look so i can leave a car, they will call me back. Next day i had to call and they said that the problem with transmition they can t fix it. I had to order another tow truck and tow it to another place. Lost time and money not very professional, becuase i said at the beginning that problem with transmition and does not move. But at least they made it to move at neutral and i remeber i did alignment with them that was good. Thanks for that. 3 stars best i can give.

The only shop I been to in Brooklyn were I didn t feel like I was getting ripped off. They did what they said and didn t charge an arm and a leg. Highly recommend for great service and even better people. I even left with all my tires pumped of air, they insisted themselves to make sure before I left. Will defiantly have my car serviced here

The job on my car was very difficult in finding the cause. Two places before them couldn't even figure out the problem! They were not only patient but they explained every detail of the process to me as they went along. My car drives like new instead of me having to buy a new car. I now have an honest and trustworthy place to go!!!

The workers were able to cater to our needs on a whim. A part of the car ripped off and we needed it fixed, and thanks to Google, we found this place. They were able to quickly repair it within 10 minutes, and it cost us around $30. Definitely would go here again.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I have been going to I & B for over 2 years now and there mechanics are very knowledgeable of repairs to vehicles. just by describing the problem and listening to the noises the car makes they can determine the problem.. Jeff is a great guy and pretty straight forward.

The people at this place are amazing. As a woman going for repairs I m reluctant to bring my car just anywhere. I went here on a referral from a friend and now I will never go anywhere else! They are courteous and honest and reasonable! Thank you I and B...

Not professional! Wanted cash. We are out of state residents. Added 4% to total when we paid with card. Didn't complete the job correctly, replaced clutch however told us the mount would need to be replaced, so why didn't they put a new mount.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I towed my car to the shop because it wouldn t start. It only took 5 minutes for their mechanic to check the charging system and find the problem.Very professional they do everything by the book.

Don t go there! They use bad oil and don t know how oil must to be changed. They didn t make me refund! I paid 50$ for washing and 35$ for additional 1qt oil! 1qt!!! The horrible service in this area
