Went in for an inspection and asked them to take a look at why my front windshield wiper fluid was not working.Inspection and windshield wiper fluid tube repaired within the hour.What I really appreciated was the technician took the extra effort to attach my registration sticker to the windshield along with my inspection. I hadn t found the time to scape off my old registration, so my new sticker was just sitting on the dash. I greatly appreciate the technician doing me the favor of scraping off the old sticker and attaching the new.Amazing service and price!

I moved to Bronx a few months agoI asked Jeff a friend of mine who can I trust for a good mechanicHe recommended south riverdaleThey day came and my engine light came on so I took my car to them and they where quick to diagnose the problem fixed it and the best part was the price very fairHonest guys and would sure recommend them amazing service and extremely good prices

My mechanic in Brooklyn kept it cheaper and honest but I found out, not thorough. When I found out they had missed a major safety hazard with my tires. I panicked, as a first time car owner, as I couldn't afford what came up and also didn't know where to turn for trusted thorough care that wouldn't take advantage of my lack of knowledge. My partner recommended these folks. I came all the way from Brooklyn to get an estimate and they ended up doing great work for much less than others had quoted me. I feel like I'm driving a new car.They keep it simple, not a lot of chitchat, but I won't go anywhere else, going forward!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

What a pleasure to deal with a honest straightforward auto mechanic. I walked into the shop thinking I needed a motor mount and was told I did not. Turns out it was something else I was able to correct. But just knowing I didn t get robbed for a $500 job I did not need and instead received a needed oil change made my day. I highly recommend South Riverdale Auto Service! .

This pace is really great. They are honest about what your car needs. I brought my car in a few times. 1st was because another place told me they couldn't do a wheel alignment because I needed new struts. This place said there wasn't anything won't with them. 2nd time I brought my car was because the horn stopped working. After looking at the car he said it was because the wires were rusting a bit and it wasn't getting power. He cleaned them up and the horn is perfect. He didn't even want to charge me for any of these quick inspections and repairs. So I have them a little something because I appreciate the honesty.

The most honest auto mechanic I have ever dealt with in my long life. Another shop nearby insisted that I must do an emergency replacement of my breaks and that the rotors are worn. It took some convincing for that shop to let me go because my life was in danger of brake failure if I drove out without replacing the entire system. I promised that I would return after my appointment with the doctor. I drove the car to South Riverdale Service and Bruce checked my brakes. Behold, nothing was wrong with my breaks. I'm there now doing the 50,000 mile service.

I ve been visiting this shop for quite some time now and I have yet to be disappointed. Bruce the shop owner is honest, on time and a very well respected business owner amongst his employees and the community that he s served for many years. It s always my go to for any of my vehicles needs even if it s just a question that has to be asked. His only rules are to arrive early* and to not block his driveways* haha gets me all the time. Overall 5/5 stars.Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

I've been taking my car here for over 30 years. They do great work at a very fair price. There aren't many places that just want to fix your car and do it really well. Very low key, no sales job ever.

Honest, honest, honest. I'm usually bombarded with additional service options and other unnecessary up sells at any other auto shop. Bruce has never ever tried to get me to spend more money on anything.I asked him to take a look at my belts when I got my oil changed, and he said they were perfectly fine. Any other place would have shown me the belts, said they were okay for now but I should really consider replacing them RIGHT NOW BEFORE I DIE IN A FIERY CRASH!$30 for an oil change. My engine light has been on for two years, and I had previously been told I would need a new catalytic converter. I took it to Bruce, he reset the light, told me to drive a certain number of miles with premium fuel, and to come back. Problem solved for nothing! I really can't recommend this place enough, especially for women who are used to getting swindled.

This is my first experience with South Riverdale repair shop. My brakes sometimes were making a grinding sound so after reading all their positive reviews I decided to stop by the shop without an appointment. I was greeted immediately and asked to leave the car so they can check it. While waiting for the bus to go back home, I was surprised to receive a call from them so fast. It needed pads and rotors and was told it would cost $275 which I thought was reasonable. A few hours later the car was ready and there was no sales pitch to have other work done like I always get from Westchester Toyota's service dept. I am very satisfied with their work and definitely will go back.

Honest and professional service. I had a state inspection coming up and the orange service light was on. I took the car to a Dodge dealer and they told me that the computer indicates that the catalytic converter's efficiency is low and it has to be replaced. The total cost - $1500. Then I took the car to South Riverdale Services and they explained that in may cases the low efficiency has to do with low quality fuel. They rested the computer, sent me to fill up premium fuel and drive for 100 mile. The light never came back on and just like that I saved $1500. The rest of their service (state inspection, air conditioning service) was equally good and not costly. Great place. Recommended.Omer

The problem with this service center is that everyone there, especially the boss don't know the difference between treating a customer and treating a car. They are sooo cold and rude. They barely answer your questions, and last time the boss claimed I said things I never said.Long story short is, if you want your car fixed, to be fair, they know what they are doing. But if you don't want to ruin your day and argue with rude people, then look for another place.

As a new customer, I arrived with a laundry list of items to check. Only one item required attention. The service was performed timely and the charges were entirely fair and reasonable. A refreshing change from the dealership, which always had some costly service to perform at a fixed interval.

My son and my brother had a car problem on the way to Maine from Nj. Someone on the street sent them to Bruce. He checked the car out for them and made sure it was safe to drive. He was fast and friendly. And didn t charge them! Thank you so much!

It's so important to have a mechanic you can trust. Between Bruce (the main man), Ner, and Papo, I know my car is well taken care of. They are honest, fair, and really good at what they do.

Bruce and his team are awesome. He's pretty no nonsense and has no time for small talk when he's got a busy line up at 8am but he was friendly and answered any questions I had at the end of the day when I picked my car up - it was ready by 3pm.The brakes on my sister's Fiat had been acting up, causing the whole car to shake when applied too strongly. He saw that they were 'rotted' / rusted / corroded and all four needed to be replaced. That's what happens when a car is left out in a driveway in VT all winter and never driven. After having taken the car to the Fiat dealer the day before, they wanted $3000+ to change the brakes AND change the hub bearings. Bruce only wanted to change the brakes and saw no need to fix anything else, for $650 after tax.He's an honest no nonsense mechanic that works quickly. Thanks for the help!

This place is the best car service shop in town. They are honest, reasonable, and punctual. Nothing more you can expect from such repair shop. Don t look for further more, just go! Also, visit early in the day. :)

Great place to get work done on your car, Bruce the was mechanic is very straight forward which in this world is a good thing, the only reserve I have is whether you ll be able to get your car in to get the servicing it needs. I d recommend this place to anyone looking for a good mechanic.

Ive been here about three or four times and every time, just because they are right around the block from my home. Every time, I come down here, the experience is extremely unpleasant. The guys there are very cold and rude. They pretty much hate any questions you ask them and appear to not care about anything besides closing time and going home. would not recommend

Honest, knowledgeable, I took my car in, detecting problem of leak into my drivers side under floor carpet, when it rains,they spent hours, didn't charge a penny, guided me to a body shop. God Bless them. Thanks

I needed the NY State inspection sticker and stop by the shop without an appointment. The car was ready within an hour. Excellent service.
