I took my car to have the brakes checked at another place and they said it needed $1000 in repairs. I took it to Ricky's because I trust them and they called me back after an hour to tell me to pick up the car because there was nothing wrong with the brakes, just some dust. This is an honest car shop.

HANDS DOWN RICKY IS THE G.O.A.T OF MECHANICS!!! Great service, excellent prices, quick turn-around ratio (considering all the other fans of Ricky's lined up for their vehicle's turn) and most of all it's the "transparency" that I value a lot! It's very difficult to put trust in any mechanic. That's why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ricky's Automobile Care. I have used Ricky's service for many years (maybe 15), for a variety of services, from tire/lamp/battery/oil replacement, to tire alignment and emission inspection. Once they even removed a rotten dead raccoon from my engine area, and they still accepted me as a customer afterwards. They are very reliable. They are honest: once they did not pass an emission inspection because of a cracked windshield. So I thoroughly recommend them.Services: Wheel alignment, Auto tire replacement, Battery, Oil change

It was a pleasure to use Ricky s services in the past, quick reliable service. Something changed recently. Needed to replace battery and get maintenance service, went to the garage - the girl in charge of logistics told me that they will order a battery and call back, never happened. Tried again because was used to reliable and honest service at this place, same story. Called her on phone, and asked what s going on - she just hanged up. With all the respect that Ricky deserves, this business is not going in the right direction, won t do business with them again

I give Ricky's 4 out of 5 stars for my recent battery replacement. The mechanic replaced my battery quickly and did it while I waited in the car. He did a good job with the replacement from what I can tell. I took away one star because I ordered the battery, paid $170 on a card over the phone, and then I had to call back several times, and didn't get it actually done until over a week later.Service: Battery

I met Ricky 10 years ago on an emergency recommendation from a friend. My car was making a strange mechanical sound. He was about to close but he waited for me. I had just picked up the vehicle from a mechanic in the city...so I had no idea why it was making that noise. He found out that the old mechanic forgot to put the bolts back on my tires. My family and I could have been seriously hurt.He fixed it on the spot. Did not charge me too much.For 10 years he has been my mechanic. Reliable, honest, hard working and friendly. Everyone at this establishment is courteous and friendly. I appreciate their work and I trust them.

They did solid work fixing my horn, at a great price, and were friendly. But communication from drop-off to pick up was rough. I called 4 times and each time the woman said they'd call me back, but never did. But still, they got it done and I will go back.

Updated Review:Ricky is extremely nice and tries his best to work with everyone. Some of his employees are different. I called the shop yesterday and was told they change tires for my particular car at $25 per tire, mind you I have my own tires. I went in this morning and the lady now says the charge will be $80 for both tires. Where did this extra $30 come from? Even if it was other services fees and taxes, what is the $30 covering? I respectfully declined the service and left. Another time I received a high mileage oil change from them for about $41. The next time I took my car to them and they charged me over $70 and told me I must of gotten a different type of oil change. Either they did not give me the right oil the first time when I specifically told them what type of oil change I came for multiple time OR someone upcharged me the second time intentionally.When Ricky is not around the workers there try to get away with what they can. I took my car to V.P. Tires a little further up in Yonkers. The guy there is FOREVER honest and up front (almost never remembers me but always gives me the same courtesy, respect and great service) and changed my two tires for $30 TOTAL ($15 per tire) and he got a NICE tip, as always because he is a great guy (V.P. Tires guy is amazing). Ricky is really nice but I won t be coming back to this shop for any other services.Old Review:So far so good! I ve come to this establishment a few times for services. Ricky is always polite and respectful. I have noticed they give more attention to the cars that need to be serviced the day of; one time I left my car for an emissions inspection and for it to be serviced only to find out I needed a new fan belt, this took 3 days. However, I appreciate them doing work on only what is needed and having fair prices as opposed to someone doing work just to take your money. Overall this is a place I will continue to do business with!

I just had to give this man a 5 star rating. Yesterday was my first time at his shop and believe me when I say that this is the kind of guy you would want to check your car. He was very concerned about my safety, humorous, polite and honest. Thanks Ricky for being such a good person.

I've been going to Ricky's for almost 10 years now! He's honest, flexible, and knows his stuff! It's a blessing to have an honest mechanic in midst of so many crooks. I HIGHLY recommend Ricky's. I'm actually on my way there now to have my front and rear motor mounts changed on my Honda Pilot.

The Guys are friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. Best of all they are very honest on top of being great at what they do. Prices are fair compare with the market and they are also fast, so you wont expend a half a day to get simple stuff done.

Ricky is a true blessing to have here in Riverdale. Welcoming and attentive to what is needed to get your car back on the road again. I've been going to him for years now, and I wouldn't feel comfortable going elsewhere.

Got quick synthetic oil change and investigated rattling noise. Turned out to be an exhaust heat shield. On my way in total of an hour, everything done, $123. Toyota Corolla 2008. Ricky is an honest guy and knows every car. I have always been able to take my car there without an appointment and I have serviced everything from my Audi to a Yukon, to a GMC truck there for everything- brakes, timing belts, interior repairs. really an honest mechanic with very nice hardworking people in the shop . strongly recommended

Ricky has a new customer in me! So impressed with the whole operation. While waiting to talk to Ricky, I chatted with other customers and apparently this guy has wings. It's unanimous. Everyone loves Ricky and the work that is done at his shop.

I had a major crack in the back bumper of my car. Ricky fixed it for an extremely fair and reasonable price compared to other mechanics I went to. If you have an issue with your car go to him.

Ricky is an honest guy, knowledgeable, has a great staff, and everyone there is professional. I have been to him for various fixes, oil changes, tire maintenance and major repairs for the last 3 years or so. I highly suggest this business.

I was driving my 1 tear old car when I suddenly saw steam coming from hood. I didn t expect my car to be overheating but that s what seemed to be happening. I was lucky enough that I happened to be driving past the Sunoco station, and drove in. He took my car right away and I was back on the road in 10 minutes. The hose became loose that was connected to the coolant tank. He was able to secure it properly and was able to drive it safely to dealer.

I bought my first stick shift and burnt the clutch, had the truck towed to rickys shop, he fixed the clutch for a reasonable price and even gave me a lesson after on how to properly drive a stick shift. Ricky is a really nice guy, honest and good mechanic. Im driving around now and not burning the clutch out ! thx

I had a nail in my tire. Went to Rickys and the mechanic wet it down and then put air in it. Drove away, parked and found it flat the next day. Took it back to Ricky s, the same guy took it off and then told me the tire walls were dry and oiled it . Parked after, left it overnight and yes, flat again. The third attempt I went to Bailey Ave. The guy there took a nail out of the tire the length of my middle finger. This is my review for this place.

My car have been towed there. The cost of the reparation is not the same as the one told over the phone ($100 difference) and my car had 30 miles more than it was before and gas tank is half empty.I used to drop my car there every year for inspection but that's it.I don't trust this car repair service anymore.

I came to this shop from upstate b/c it's more affordable in the city, plus I did my inspection with them so it was familiar. I came on the morning of July 8th for a diagnostic for a code p1457. I was told by one of the guys it would be an hour, so I waited at the bus stop since there was no place around I could just hang out. After two hours, I called thinking they forgot to call me. The lady told me it's not done & she will call when it is. She called a half an hour later to tell me it's done & that it will be around $400 to replace the purge valve & vent valve. I told her I was on my way back to speak with the mechanic. He told me what needed to be replaced. I asked him if I can buy the parts myself, seeing that it will be much cheaper. He told me yes & he said come back whenever. I went to purchase the parts the same day. Since I don't know anyone in the city & I'm on a budget, I slept in my car & came back the following morning to have it replaced. We agreed on a price for labor, this time he didn't tell me how long he would be. I left my car & waited at the bus stop. From 9 something in the morning to almost 2pm I waited. As I was walking past the shop on a call, I noticed my car wasn't there so I thought they must be done & they have it in the back. I walked past a resurant & saw one of the mechanics, he told me my car is ready. After the call, I went back to the shop wondering why I didn't get a call & how long has my car been ready. I went to the lady, paid her & asked for a receipt. I asked if someone was going to bring out my car. I was looking around & didn't see my car. I walked around to the back, I didn't see it. I then saw who I believe to be a mechanic drive up from down the block with my car. I was upset. I asked him where did he come from with my car. His English wasn't good so he went to someone who spoke English well which was a little boy of one of the mechanics. He said he parks it on the street when it's done which made no sense to me b/c there was space to park it in the front, back & side. It seemed as if my car was used possibly to run an errand. Now on July 15th the check engine light came back on. I went to AutoZone to find out it's for the same code p1457. I told them I went to a mechanic in the city to have it fixed but clearly they didn't do it right. I believe it was intentional b/c they seemed to have an attitude about me bringing in my own parts. When I asked, he should have told me no, so I could have found someone else out there to do it right. To waste more money on driving back to the city, to wait around at the bus stop for hours for them to possibly not fix it or mess something up isn't worth it. I wasted my time & money.

Rickey is honest, and a very, very good mechanic. I always feel that my car is in good hands when I take it there, and I am always very pleased with the price. I recommend him highly.
