I've gone to NY1 twice -- once for a transmission rebuild and once for a steering issue. In both cases, they were very quick and responsive, taking time to explain the repair. I also watched him call several places to find the cheapest used steering column in the area, saving me at least $500. ITS STEVE!!! I brought my Nissan Rogue to these guys and Freddy the manager helped me through everything, filed a warranty claim to replace transmission. It was done in 2 days. Very honest people. Good people. Tobi the mechanic is the best. Keep up great works guys!

LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE. MARTY AND HIS TEAM ARE SO NICE AND PROFESSIONAL . AFTER A TRUCK HIT MY PARK CAR THEY GOT MY CAR LOOKING LIKE NEW IN A FEW DAYS.THERE PRICES ARE JUST AS AMAZING AS THE STAFF

My husband and I appreciated the quality of customer care and service from Fred. He was patient and informative when answering our questions. Fred made us feel comfortable in our decision to trust the team (Felix) to work on our vehicle. Marty was pleasant and professional too. They were rapid and efficient in fixing our car, we received our car sooner than the date they stated. After taking it for a test drive we were good to go. I will still continue to monitor the car but it drives way better than when we brought the car in. Its shifts and reverses. One incentive to our decision making is the warranty they offer which is included with the work being done, so if anything arises we can bring it back, but hopefully that wont be the case. We will provide updates. Thanks

My transmission started slipping in my 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5se in early October this year.I called Carsheild for tow sevices.I also needed a good transmission shop and called around. One of the shops I called said call Freddy at NY1transmissions.Told Freddy my situation and he said bring your car. He works on cars that have Carsheild warranty.Carsheild asked me to ok pictures of the transmission pan and a fluid sample. One week later Freddy called and said it's a go.That was on 10/12/22.Before I could pick up my rental car Freddy,Marty and crew had my car ready on 10/14/22.I was so satified with the work and attention to detail that I had additional work done which they did an amazing job. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. NY1 transmissions sent from heaven!!!!!!!

Freddy is the one that runs the business I just finished doing some sensors from my car , they tell you exactly what it is. Fast Grate service definitely I would recommend it .

[Update] the transmission broke down after 7 months of the service.I highly recommend this place to everybody!!My car had to replace the transmission. And I tried to find a quote for that around NY and Long Island. Finally I found this shop and I called. Marty gave me very clear view what I need to pay and how long does it take. And he made it. There was no hidden cost at all.Also Marty is a kind and friendly man. When I need a car during fix my car, he let me use his vehicle. That is not easy to do as you know. He is such a generous and trustable man. I have very good experience with him.And he understands that clients want to pay less but treat their car well and he does so. Everything was clear.Now my car is almost new condition -2000yr VW Beeltle my car- and run very well. I might pay more than 3,000 dollars to fix my car. I save my money with him. If you want to find reasonable price and nice car experts to handle your car, this is the right place.I definitely recommend to my friends to go up there! I hope you to have a wise choice!Update] the transmission broke down after 7 months of the service.

I cannot say enough about NY1 transmission. My overall experience with this shop was beyond my expectation. I knew I needed a major transmission and Marty (owner) quoted me a very fair price to rebuilt my transmission. He also replaced a broken windshield reservoir motor for reasonable fee. There were no unpleasant surprises with cost and the car was done in 2 days. The shop is clean and the mechanics were friendly and professional. The CRV is humming along nicely and the transmission job came with a 12000, 1 year warranty. Top notch all around... Thanks Marty

This place is amazing . I got a 2011 bmw 750i and I took it to like 5 different places and they would not work on my car. I took it to to NY1 transmission they were polite and professional. They got me in and got me out. Now my transmission is shifting smoothly. This is the place to go if you want professional work done on your car for a fair price .Service: Transmission

Great customer service and transmission work. I called the shop, spoke with Marty who explained what they're going to do and quoted a fair price to rebuild the transmission of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Because I wasn't with the AAA tow truck, Marty paid them the tolls when they delivered the vehicle on Thursday and finished the rebuild work on Saturday!Highly recommend the shop, job well done, Marty is old school and personable.

I've been going to Marty for almost 2 years and he is one of the nicest people I know and I am glad to have him and his team work, on my car. They service the car fast and so far I have not had any issues. Prices are reasonable and I recommend anyone who has trouble with their cars to go out and check ot out. I just finished picking up my 2001 Honda because my brakes were, pretty much done and I had dropped it off yesterday. They have changed my timing belt rotors.. My car has, needed work and anything that has been wrong they have been able to fix w.o any problems. Thank you guys

First off - customer service was TOP NOTCH. I came in, described my problem (noticed a transmission leak) and Marty was super friendly and took a look. He had is guys inspect the vehicle, and called me later in the day to give me a summary of the work that needed to be done, as well as the cost. He pointed out that there was, in addition to the transmission leak, a small oil leak that probably should be addressed. He wasn't pushy about getting the small oil leak done, which I appreciated because to me that's the sign of an honest mechanic - one who will tell you what's urgent and what isn't. I'm someone who used to work on his own car a lot, so I know when a mechanic is BS-ing me. But now I live in the city and don't have a garage - and I can tell you, their diagnosis was fair and completely accurate.He gave me a summary of the work order and cost for each issue and the work was done. I came in to pick up my car a few days later, and it was good as new. He took me over to the car, showed the locations of repair and summarized everything done. They even cleaned my engine bay for me! When it came time to pay, it was EXACTLY what they said it would be, no surprises. It was very reasonable in cost, and I would not hesitate at all to bring my car back there for any necessary repairs. Thanks Marty!

I have a 2005 Infiniti g35x. I had a transmission issue and contacted ny1 transmissions. Spoke with Freddy super professional and got right to my issues with my car . Brought my car in and recieved it back in a couple of days . Ny1 transmissions fixed my problem and got my car running great. Thank you Fred and thank you Marty for making me feel comfortable at the shop and ofcourse hooking up my car. I strongly recommend ny1 transmissions !Service: Transmission

I'm so happy that I stumbled onto google and found this shop in Bronx! Marty is fair stand up gentleman that knows how to treat his customers. I was having transmission problem with my 02 Honda accord, not a problem for these guys, I got a great price from Marty, a great warranty and in two days my car was ready to go, feeling just as powerful and responsive as it did before the tranny started slipping and breaking down. If your looking for fair prices, quality work, and mechanics with knowledge stop shopping around and call Marty. Thank you NY1Transmissions !!!

I contacted Marty and he was honest from the beginning. People hear that you drive a Range Rover and try to immediately rob you but not Marty. Not only did he offer the best price and service he surpassed all other offers and warranties to repair my vehicle. He showed me around the shop and I met the mechanics explained the process and the work and needless to say my car is running like brand new again. I know about cars and I will definitely recommend anyone to see this gentleman. Thank you for all your help Marty I will definitely do business with you again. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic look no further.

I had a great experience at this transmission shop. I was here a few months ago, in June of 2020. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic with my 2010 Suzuki Kizashi, i had several codes and symptoms and in one phone conversation with Marty he gave me an accurate quote and had in depth knowledge of what the issue was.Many other places i had been to had not dealt with this car before as it is a bit rare and quoted hundreds of dollars more - between 400 and 1500 more. Marty and his knowledge specialist had me back on the road in less than 4 days and i have put on about 5,000 trouble free miles since and i got a 1 year warranty where others were only willing to give me 6 months warranty at twice the cost.The next day i had several questions and he answered the phone every time, and even sent someone out to me to assist me with a small problem i was having. Excellent customer service and they work on more than just transmissions.Try this place First!!!

Marty is a great guy and so are the guys that work there. Fixed transmission in three days and it runs better than it ever has. I'm a car guy who has had a lot of cars fixed the nicest guys and best service I have ever had. I have recommended him for my mechanics to use. Thanks. PS

My truck started acting up and looked like got a transmission prob, found NY1 transmission online so thought of giving it a try.It was my 1st time dealing with NY1 transmission and Marty ( Manager) is reliable and was very professional.I was also given all my broken parts including Valve Body upon asking which was really good for customer point of view. Normally which is little difficult to get back from other repair shops.Marty, gave all warranties paper work for work done on my transmission including Valve body warranty from Nissan for my records. I really Appreciate it.So far I have no complains and I wish him Best of luck.

Their customer service is top notch. Thoroughly explained what was needed and what it would cost. Worked with my warranty company, to minimize my headaches. Provide better prices and service than the "dealer ". Fred is top notch, professional, courteous. THIS is my transmission shop from now on.

My daughters 2001 Toyota Corolla started having a transmission shifting issue not shortly after she bought it used. The car has 177,000 miles on it and remarkably, still very economical on gas. We took a chance on repairing the transmission based on the advice of my brother who is a die-hard Toyota Corolla fan.I searched online for transmission repair shops, namely ones with good or decent reviews. I came across NY1 Transmissions and found a bunch of reviews touting it as a good choice for transmission repair.I reached out to few car people I know and they recommended rebuilding it and to not purchase a used transmission since you never what problems might arise after the install.I did some more research and came across some of NY1 Transmissions you-tube videos and was impressed.Taking a chance since my daughter wanted the car fixed asap, I went to NY1 and spoke with Freddy and the transmission repair person. I liked what I heard and the price they quoted was fair. I left the Corolla with them on an early Saturday afternoon and I had it back by Thursday morning.The job was done technically, in three days (impressive) and as I arrived to pick up the car, was hoping the rebuild went well. Freddy reassured me the repair went well and the Corolla was fixed.I test drove it that same day and the car shifted smoothly. It has been almost a month now since my daughter has been driving the car and she states no problems with the shifting at all. The car is running great.I believe they did a good job on the transmission repair and I hope to not be disappointed in the near future or even a few years from now.It is also noteworthy that NY1 Transmissons gives a 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty to back up their work. Kudos to them for a job well done!Update: It's been over 3 months and the transmission is still shifting smooth as butter. NY1 Transmissions also did a valve cover gasket replacement on the Corolla for a good price too. The car is running good. Thanks for reading this review.

Freddy at NY1 was a God send. I took my car in for engine failure. And he helped me throughout the entire process. He answered all the times I called him and he kept in touch every step of the way. My car drives better than when I bought it. Freddy Thank you!! I will be recommending this shop to everyone and will tell everyone about NY1. They work with you through the everything and will be honest about the repairs for the car.

My go to shop from now on as they do far more work than tranmissions. I have sudden transmission problems and literally had problems driving up one block without my car stalling. After getting quotes from 3 shops who quoted me astronomical prices without doing a proper diagnostic test, I stopped with little hope left at NY1 Transmission. I really feel that a higher power led me here because from the door I was greeted in a very friendly manner by Marty.Before quoting me he took the car for a test run and then ran a diagnostics test on the vehicle.Marty is the old school kind of car repairman, the kind who has a passion for cars and actually has compassion for people and understands how expensive car repairs can be therefore, he has an interest to lessen you of your burdens than he does to rip you off. Understanding that customers come back when they are well taken care of. That's Marty and that's everyone he has working for him at this transmission spot. Top Notch Quality Care.He quoted me 1100 cheaper!! than the other rip off spots who obviously had more interest in taking advantage of a female who they think doesn't know any better.Marty fixed my car within 2 days as promised.. Not like other shops who tell you 2 days and the 2 days roll into 10 days. I got a NEW transmission no used parts, with a year warranty. I will certainly be back for other jobs that I need done, quality service and products what more can you ask for.They have customers who come from all over. When I was there getting my car problem diagnosed, there was a couple there from Westchester NY who only goes to Marty.If you are hesitant don't be. They also have many videos on you tube of the work that they do so you can rest assure that you are dealing with professionals.

i'll start by saying the owner is a nice guy, responded quickly to getting my vehicle in the shop and got the work done quickly as well. he churns out vehicles, has a clean shop, and what appears to be a good crew.however, my first red flag should have been when he told me he primarily works on automatic transmissions, and not manual ones...the second red flag should have come when i picked up the vehicle. i was told that there is probably something wrong with the transmission because it wasn't going into gear right. when i drove it, actually getting it to shift from gear to gear with the gear stick was difficult. in the end, they simply did not take the time to adjust the shift linkages. once dialed in (which i did myself, lying on the ground, trial and error adjustment until it was right) the vehicle shifted fine.then, unfortunately, less than a year after the transmission was replaced at NY1, it failed again. two separate mechanics who have since looked at it came to the same diagnosis, that the previous install was not torqued properly upon install and it caused the failure.previously, the owner had immediately responded to any emails sent via his website. when i asked about what can be done since i am not set to replace the transmission once again, no response.i would not recommend this shop if you have a manual transmission.

I came all the way from Washington DC to get my transmission rebuilt here, due to the amazing ratings. I was not disappointed. The man has 26 years experience rebuilding transmissions and did it in a single day. While I was there, he even showed me the torn down transmission along with everything that went wrong inside and why. After arriving and informing them we came from so far, they pulled up chairs for us to sit and watch the whole process. If that was not enough, they gave us an umbrella for the rain and snacks! The price is also unbeatable. I give them perfect 5 stars, and recommend them to everyone.
