I would absolutely recommend the shop to any family or friend. I live in Queens and still drive to the Bronx to come get my car repaired. Hugo is always ready to help and attend to whatever is needed. He will treat you like family and give you his most honest opinion on what the issue is and what needs to be prioritized. He has a nice sized - private waiting room with TV, to keep you entertained and warm (or cool during the summer) while you wait. Been coming to him since I got my drivers license at 17!

First time going to see/meet Hugo after talking over the phone for about a day. My car wouldn t start and he said have it towed to him and he ll let me know what s up. After the car got to him he sent a pic showing he received the car. By the end of the day he told me exactly what was wrong & how it could be fixed. He Fixed it and by the next morning it was ready to go and now even driving better than before. I have two cars that I m sure I will be doing my mechanical business with Hugo with in the near future. I was so intrigued by the customer service and passion for my business I almost can t wait to get my other car in the shop and have him working on it. I finally found a Bronx mechanic I can trust. Hugo is the truth

I've been a customer of Hugo's for over 15 years. He's honest and his mechanics do good work. He also makes very good recommendations to other local mechanics and specialists if his shop is unable to help you.

Dont know why this place has bad views.. came here a few days ago to get my brakes and rotors replaced.. i brought my parts... no problem wat so ever.. Went early..thought ill see a waiting time...wasnt.. gentlemen attended me fast very pleasant and on a Monday... da ole Guy,Victor .... A 1 in my Book .. took his time and effort to do a Excellent job... Da owner is friendly And Sincered.. Wat you Wont See at MOST Mechanic Shops.. And He Knows Where Da Good Food At Too .. and price was good for me....

The service was amazing! I went to Hudson Honda and they tried to charge me $800 for a leak in the fuel tube. I went to Hugo s Auto Repair and he sent me videos of the leak in the tube. He kept my car until the part came in from Honda and charged me less than half of what Honda was trying to charge me. He is committed and transparent with his work. I appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond for me! I will not be going anywhere else. Thank you Hugo!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I don t want to sound like a clich� but I never leave reviews Today that changes. I visited Hugo initially for an oil change . Got that done in a timely manner. My check engine light was on and he diagnosed the situation and FULLY explained to me the problem in a way that I understood. I had another issue which had nothing to do with what he had already done and once again Hugo CLEARLY EXPLAINED what was happening and I understood. I didn t anticipate this and wasn t prepared. Hugo told me about a company called KOALAFI ( pronounced Qualify). BEST THING EVERRRRRRR. It s sorta like Afterpay or Klarna for your car repair I was able to get my car fixed and not worry about driving around and possibly killing my engine!! Such a lifesaver!! This guy is the real deal.. Not one of those people that takes advantage of a situation to work in his favor HONEST MECHANIC.,, Hugo you are the man and I thank you and your staff for taking great care of me and my car God Bless you all

I needed to inspect my car in a new state, I was confident that my car will pass inspection with flying colors, but to my surprise, it didn t pass... the inspection place at that other state said that my car had an engine oil leak and had to be fixed in order to pass inspection. I had a few days to inspect the car as my inspection was about to expire and I didn t want to drive all the way to that state and fail inspection again. I was in a bit of a pickle as I needed to go to work and or not go to work and look around for a mechanic shop that will not take advantage and could fix the car properly. So I googled for a mechanic and drove around and end up at Hugo s auto repair shop! Hugo and his staff were very professional and accommodating. They worked with my schedule. Hugo arranged for my car to be picked up and dropped off just like in the big and expensive dealerships! Hugo s auto repair shop billing and car repair process was transparent and convenient, he took pictures and videos of the work he did on my car, which in turn gave me confidence as ti was was actually being done to my car. He took the time to explain a few things that I was not aware about the car. My car was repaired in a very timely manner. I didn t have to miss work or take extra time to deal with fixing my car. Hugo and his staff took care of the entire process Later on I drove to the other state, and they inspected the car, and I passed inspection. Thank you Hugo and staff! Keep up the great work!

Went for a tune up. Ended up needing transmission oil instead. Hugo was very detailed in knowing what going on with your car. If you don't know what wrong with your car go to Hugo he will figure it out to find the problem. Thank will be back

I recently went to this place to get my car checked because I was having power steering leakage. I watched them checked my car while it was on the lift and within 7 MINUTES I was told my RACK AND PINION needed to be replaced. I was told that it would cost about $1300 to replace it because they would have to drop the engine bay in order to replace it.I went to get a SECOND OPINION at another shop to CONFIRM what was previously told to me. The other shop checked my car THOROUGHLY 4 TIMES within 25 minutes as I watched them. I was told my car O-RING was worn out, that why it was leaking. They charged me $40 for there service. SO FAR MY POWER STEERING FLUID IS NOT LEAKING AND MY RESERVOIR IS FULL. I'll keep my eye on power steering in case this issue comes up again.THE PEOPLE AT HUGO APPEARED WELCOMING BUT THAT ONE GUY WHO CHECKED MY CAR WAS TRYING TO RIP ME OFF. I NOTICED HE DIDN'T DO WHAT THE OTHER SHOP DID; WHICH WAS THOROUGHLY CHECK MY CAR MULTIPLE TIMES.IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO GET A SECOND OR THIRD OPINION WHEN YOUR HAVING CAR ISSUES BECAUSE OF THINGS LIKE THIS.

My experience with Hugo Auto repair has been a wonderful one. very good management and ownership I expect my car back in 2 to 3 days with major repairs, covered by car shield.

I was personally recommended to this repair shop as I was desperately seeking a mechanic. Victor is very courteous, knowledgeable and most of all honest; the most important qualities in a mechanic. I had been ripped off by the dealership and another well known auto company for 1400 and my vehicle still wasn't working properly, only to come here and have the ACTUAL matter resolved for far less. Thank you Hugo for your excellent work, I have found a personal mechanic that I can rely on in you!

I stopped by Hugo's Shop to get some work done on my brakes since i had a trip from NYC back to Baltimore, MD. I mentioned to Hugo that I was tight on budget and I needed to get back to MD to do my emissions. He informed me that he can do the emissions test at his shop and I can send the results to the MVA, that way i wouldn't have to cut any cost on the brake work.After the work was finished he was still kind enough to not overcharge me since I was in from out of town and he did amazing work. Next time I am in the area I will definitely be back in to use his shop again!

Hugo, the shop owner, was super nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. He took my car in late and did everything in his power to expedite the service. He is the most honest and upfront auto mechanic I have ever met, and his price for service was incredible. I would recommend this shop to anyone I meet!Mickie

Hello everyone, I'm Victor Hugo owner of this shop! Thank you for your reviews. However I would like to mention that there 3 post that I personally did not attend them in my shop.... Cortez is the 14 year old son of the owner master care next to my shop and some lady about some work we did on her car, I believe Suspension work for $2000. I personally change my own struts all four parts from the dealer and I spend 985 for the parts if I have to pay for the labor I would of spend 450. I remember every customer that I personally deal with and there is only two customer that have bought the struts from the dealer and she definitely didn't buy them from the dealer. I'm sorry that the gentleman felt bad about the muffler job.... but I personally remember him. I told him he needs to change both parts mufffler and center pipe that connects to muffler. Both where rotten. Customer refuse and was willing to take a chance. The gasket wasn't connecting firmly like it was required because other side where it connects was rotten. He new it and it was explained, that it didn't work out like he wanted . To all the customers who don"t have the knowledge wha a ASE certified mechanic is, let me give you an example. any one could paint a house does that make you a professional painter? anyone could cook, does that make you a chef? however does people who want their house to look professional painted or eat in a restaurant that the food just doesn't look good but taste great would pay for that kind of service. any one could change brake pads, however i seen customers who had crack heads from autozone put on brake pads backwards and tell me that they hear a strange noise when they are stopping. what was the problem they put it backwards ruining the rotors. now they paid for rotors that wasn't damaged. just like a chef would notice not to over cook your food a painter would know that a smooth finish would leave a neat look with fresh paint same way a REAL ASE mechanic would know the cause of failure parts and how to properly install, last if we do a job faster then the time said on the computer its not just the experience its the expensive tools that most "shops" who call themselves mechanics wont invest, but come to me so i can rent them my tools. remember this you will always get what you pay. and for the customers who THINK that coming to any auto shop is like visiting a fast food chain think again because if you have a leak in your radiator and you call me to see if i can repair it. remember that just like you their somebody else with the same problem who is before you. and its not like ordering a number 5 in a fast food restaurant and you would be serve with in 10 mins. most likely you would have to leave your car for some jobs. i would like also to apologize foe the 3 years i haven't been present at my shop due to my oversea marriage which now we are establish i know that i had some bad managers running the shop and gave the shop a bad taste, but does customer who know me, know how i take my business serios. thank you Victor Hugo Cassinelli

Great prices with great costumer service. Will work with you to make sure you will be satisfied at the end with complete honesty. Mechanics and body/painter are great. Was a little worried because my car had to be taken to another shop to get painted as i was informed they don't paint there but everything came out better than i expected. well recommended.

Went to Hugo s this past Wednesday and I m extremely satisfied with the service I received along with there pricing and honesty. I had a faulty Temperature sensor thanks to rodents needing a warm place to stay, I bought the piece to replace it from Autozone and the shopless guys tried to squeeze $300 out but Hugo s charged $200. Definitely recommended this shop to numerous people already.

I am very happy with Hugo Auto Repair. Get my oil change done there and get my inspection done. Hugo was able to spot some major problems with my car and saved me a ton of money.

I know this man for years. His father was the owner. I took my car to him for tune up, he said i had a leak in my cooling system. Mind you my car never overheated on me. Had my car for 2 weeks and 1500 later and then he tells me he needs another 2000 to get a used motor for my car. I told him enough is enough. Picked up my car and as i started driving away my transmissions is not working. He has only one real mechanic. He has him jumping from car to car without finishing one job at a time. I will never go to him again. Cant be trusted. Then to top it off he said he test drove my car after the work was done, another lie. How can you give someone a car without taking it out. Disgusted, had to get rid of the car. Didn't even bother to return my call. Be carefull wolf in sheeps clothing.

I stopped to get my tires aligned. They raised my car and the machine was never turned on. They lied to me saying that the alignment was done. I came back and told them that my steering wheel was crooked. They then told me that their machine hasn't worked in years and the way that they check is by seeing the tires with no machine at all. Now it seems that they're eyesight is better than a machine's!!! Don't let them fool you they're thieves!

Dishonest business, if you're a woman make sure you're watching closely as they work on your car and double check the prices online. Best to bring someone who is knowledgeable about mechanics so Hugo doesn't take advantage of you the way he did to me.

Fantastic Auto Repair Shop. I WOULD NOT trust my van or my car to any other shop. I've dealt with many mechanics but nothing comes close to the mechanics at Hugo Auto Repair.
