I highly recommend to all who want an Excellent service, friendly professional staff, very knowledgeable experienced mechanics, reasonable prices. Incredibly honest. I trust Nelson and staff with all my automotive repairs.

This place is such a headache, starting with communication with the customers and never recieve a call back for days to get an update. Mechanics who worked on my chevy tahoe were horrible. My transfer case was replaced and it was given back to me leaking due to a bad seal that shouldve been replaced by the mechanic. I took it back and was charged again, when it was their mistake. I drove it thinking the problem was fixed but was wrong, transmission was ruined and they never took responsibility for their mistake. I ended up getting my transmission rebuilded at Global Transmission. I have to say I will never recommend this place to anyone please beware.

I'm from New Jersey, my wife drove my 2012 Chevy Malibu to Long Island and blew the engine. I still had a bank balance on it, so junking it was not a option.I had the car towed to a friends house and asked around for reliable auto shops.( I'm a manufacturing machinist by trade and use to do mechanical work on cars for a living)A friend in Long Island NY mentioned Nelson's Auto Service, so I checked out his online reviews.I called for advice a price, and was comfortable with the customer service.My last step in this process was to visit the facility in person. This shop is in a area zoned for auto repair shops so it wasn't easy to find at first.They towed my car in, then took care of all the details. I was given options to repair the original engine or purchase a recycled or a brand new engine. I choose a used motor with low mileage. I was given a affordable estimate as well as a completion date...all went well, so as a customer I would highly recommend this business!

I came here for a NYS Inspection and arrived there at 7:59am and by 8am, I was already helped. Got out pretty quick, made it on time to my job. Such an easy in and out for a NY Inspection. Been coming here since Juan Lovo worked there, he introduced me to that shop and to this day thanks to him, I come here for everything.

I ve been bringing my car to Nelson since I bought it 2 years ago and his service has always been impeccable! I recommend him with my eyes closed. If you re looking for a trustworthy mechanic this is your place. Also the staff is great!

Been going to Nelson for over 20 years back when he was under King Bear. He is the ONLY mechanic I will go to for any of my cars. He is so Honest and fair with the pricing. I highly recommend this business for any of your cars needs. I have known Nelson for approximately 20 years now. When I lived in Brentwood and his crew, I did a great job. When you need any kind of repears on your vehicle. His price rates are reasonable, and you can't beat that. Thanks again for replacing my brakes .

I have used Nelson s for years. As a mother, I ve sent all my children s vehicles to him and his shop. He s honest, reliable and everyone in his shop knows what they are doing. If he can t find the problem he tells you and doesn t lie about the problem. I will never take my car to someone else. The best mechanic I've met. Nelson is an honest person, which is very hard to find in the mechanic industry. It may take a couple of days, he's always busy, because of his great mechanical service to the community, but its worth waiting for someone you can trust that will make the job right, and explain clearly and truthfully what your car has.

Nelson is the best! He is honest and super helpful. I would not consider taking my cars elsewhere. I recently moved but still drive the extra time to take my cars to him. I trust him and his prices are 100% spot on. I tell all my friends the same thing "Take it to Nelson!"

I send my car with a Tow Truck, with half of tank of gasoline, I pick up my car with 1/4 of the tank of gasoline, paid $423.63 in total and drive my car half of the block and the problem for what I took my car to their business was Not fix. When they took my car, they called and asked me what was the problem with my car so I told them: my car is shaking when I turn it on and won't move, also it has a red light of the oil on, they had told me it needs a oil pressure switch that needs to be change and that I've been looking for the part and that I have it. They told me they will run the computer on my car, later they call me that my car has 3 different codes and they explain me what they need to do and buy to fix it and told me it will be $325 in total. I offered the part I had and dropped it. One day after they called me and said the part was not the right one, they will need to request the part. The problem on my car was not fix, they run computer, charge me for all the parts and labor and it was not fix and when I took my car back they try to blame me for everything, it looks like I am the mechanic on this business...Service: General repairs & maintenance

My husband and I have been going to Nelson for over 15yrs. Since before we were married. Very honest and the staff is always very helpful. We will continue to give Nelson our business even though we no longer live in the area. It is about a 20 min drive but definitely worth it!

My fianc�e has been coming here for about 15 years. He referred me to Nelson. I now bring my car here. Nelson is honest and prices are reasonable. It s tough to find and trust the right mechanic but give him a try he is not all about the money!

You have to get there by 6:30 am if you want to have a chance to be seen. They do good work from what I read and hear, but often times The owner is short staffed and wait time is usually up to 2 hours. I have been there twice in a week to get an oil change and couldn t because there s a room full of people morning or afternoon, it s the same story with short staff so unfortunately I couldn t get one.I ve only had one oil change from him several months ago, so I can t speak for anything else they do. He was recommended by my father and uncle and he and his staff are nice people and the establishment is tidy and neatIt s just clear he s stretched thin on staff and can not take as many customers. They don t do appointments although I would highly suggest it, because A) the business seems to be doing well and rated high and B) just better coordination for his staff and the work load would cancel out turning customers away and telling them to come back in 1-2 hours which still doesn t gurarentee you being seen...

Nelson is a very knowledgeable mechanic and honest, trustworthy person.I wouldn't bring my care to any one else because I know Nelson will take care of the problem and have the car back to you in no time!Thanks Nelson,The Feller Family

Awesome. I have been here many times and they have always been fair, helpful and timely. I took my mom's car here after getting a ridiculous quote across the street after a collision. They got it over there even though it wasn't driveable and fixed the car for 1/5 of the price the other guy quoted. If you want to be able to trust your mechanic, take your car here.

Excellent mechanics, reasonable price not trying make a fast buck on you. Respectable owner and operator who explains what s wrong with the car and what has to be fixed. He will even save the part to show. I recommend him to anyone looking for mechanic and who has car issues.

Love Nelson, he always finds time to work on my car no matter the problem or the timing. Very friendly and good service. Reasonable pricing...They r my backup when my dealership thinks I belong to the upper 1% When quoting me a repair job

We brought all our cars here to be repair for the 8 years we been here. All work that he has done is professional. His prices are very fair. The guy said it would be 130.00 for a flex pipe to get fixed. I just wanted to get rid of the loud noise it was making. Picked it up a day later before they closed and it basically sounds the same. The noise did get a little softer so I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 But it still sounds like my muffler is about to fall off. I would never go back

Excellent service. Appointment was at 8am. They open at 8. The doors opened at 7:57..told us the service would take 45 mins to an hour. Received a call exactly 1 hour later. Would definitely recommend them.

Nelson's is the only mechanic shop I use and refer people to. They will not try to over sell you on services that aren't needed. I find them to be good mechanics and honest good people which is very hard to find .

I had a good experience they took my car fairly quickly except the miss diagnosis a bit maybe because it was very busy it was a Saturday car beed it more work than they told me but good priced

The best shop I have been going to Nelson's since 1995 , when it was call king bear , never let me down , nobody else touch my cars and I recommend to everyone that needs their car fix.

I went to Idea First Automobile located at New Hyde Park to get my car alarm installed and they ended up frying the ECM of my Chevy Equinox. I was looking for a auto repair shop to get it fixed and someone had record this shop to me. They charged me a fair amount and fixed the fried ECM. I am very happy with the service would recommend to anyone.!!!
