Beautiful quaint, old-timey feel. It was built in 1880, and has been in continuous operation for all 142 years!Four floors, and since there's no air conditioning (only a box fan in each room) nor elevator, some prefer the rooms on the lower floors that are cooler during the summer and don't require a climb. While we were there, some folks were starting power yard work by like 8am, which, with the little sound absorption/dampening/insulation of the hotel, was loud and woke us up to unpleasant grinding (edging) or mowing noises. Some other people in the town while we were here were boisterous late at night and a boat out on the lake was blasting really loud music keeping lots of folks up. So if that would affect you, be Mindful and maybe request a room that doesn't face the water. While the place does have power/electric in each room, the receptacles were so old they were only hot/neutral (no ground), so nothing with a ground will go in unless you have a 3 to 2 adapter. Also, the age means the receptacles are very loose, and don't hold things in them very tightly. The wallpaper in each room and hallway is BEAUTIFUL, and the accent in the ground floor public restroom has a really neat story written all across it.The staff is super friendly, and walking around anywhere is amazing, seeing the history and quaint, rural western New York feel.Definitely an awesome place, and PERFECT for a family gathering. We used to come here in the 1990s when we were kids, and now 20 some years later we're all here with the next generation, and the dad who brought us.There was even a family wearing shirts that seemed as if this was their family reunion location for years. It's a really beautiful place and experience to share with anyone you know.

Cute spot for a drink. Charming, local and historic hotel with a great view of the water. There is a massive front porch with rocking chairs to enjoy your drink and the view of the lake. It was very relaxing and enjoyable to catch up with friends.Affordable drinks and cheap $1-5 options for food. It was nice to get an snack and a drink during these times and not break the bank.

This is a historic treasure, I really hope everybody who reads this stays here at least once. But be prepared that it is a historic place, which means there s no air-conditioning no elevator but it s loaded with a charm.the rooms are cool the bathtubs are gigantic the front porch is amazing the chairs on the lawn are relaxing and above all the atmosphere is wonderful. The owners are here talking To the customers and guests, enjoying telling the story of the historic place and even a few ghost stories.Stay here if you can avoid the corporate hotels because until you ve stayed at a place like the Hotel Lenhart you have not experienced want an original United States hotel was like. I can almost picture myself wearing a suit with my wife in a 1920s dress sitting at the bar.

Great porch to watch the boats in the lake with lots of nice rockers and cold bar drinks. Also plenty of seating on the lawn to watch people travel up and down the sidewalks enjoying themselves. We always come up for Father's day.

It's definitely an experience to go there for breakfast. They provide a historical, classy atmosphere. The food is served in courses. You have a set selection for each course, but there is some mix and matching allowed. We got OJ first, then a bowl of freshly prepared fruit. Then eggs with sides. The coffee was OK - but I'm picky about my coffee. The wait staff was dressed in historical outfits. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd say the breakfast was pretty standard in terms of quality. It's cash only - 15 for adults. They have an ATM in the building.

Great bar and front porch. I love all the rocking chairs. It's like going back 100 years. If you want modern don't come here. If you want a vintage experience this is the place.

Its old, dated and very historical but that won't stop me from returning. If you want to stop and take a load off on the famous rocking chairs they don't mind. The lounge are has great cocktails. Grab a drink and enjoy one of the great Chautauqua Lake sunset views from their porch and yard.

Rustic and original, The Lenhart holds all it's history for everyone to enjoy. Sit and relax on the front porch w/a beautiful view of the lake as you enjoy a drink from the hotels 'Lamplighter' Bar. It's such a wonderful to experience with its comforts, charm and friendly atmosphere. My picture is from the Bemus Point Park across the street, during an Art show July 2021. You can see the Lenhart in the background by it's signature yellow paint.

I got their signature drink known as "The Rocker," which was very good, but was a little expensive at 7 dollars. The atmosphere was amazing sitting on the front porch, looking out at the lake. Relaxing in the rocking chairs is always very enjoyable. The bartender was also very friendly. Overall, my experience was great.

This is a really neat hotel if you're into older buildings and a unique experience. I enjoyed the smaller rooms with a wash basin-style sink and great historical detail and decor. It felt like staying in the hotels your see in older movies, and I loved the atmosphere! Everyone seems dedicated to a real customer-first attitude and they were very helpful. Reservations are not taken online, and credit/debit are not accepted - but they do have an ATM right in the lobby. We had to leave early and couldn't stay for breakfast, but by the looks of the menu it appeared to be a proper meal and not just a pastry. We will absolutely stay here again if we're in the area!

Charming old hotel furnished with antiques. No air conditioning but usually kept cool with breezes from Lake Chautauqua. Our bed seemed a bit small at first and we swore it shrunk during the night. We love the large porch with many comfortable rockers where you can have cocktails as the sun sets across the the lake. You do not need to be a guest to sit on the porch.

This hotel could be beautiful but it's very run down. The paint on the exterior is peeling and while I didn't mind that too much, I did mind peeling wallpaper, rust in the bathroom sink, a sagging double bed in a tiny non air conditioned room where you could barely move around and couldn't open the window. A few renovations could make this hotel spectacular. But I do have to say that the staff was very nice about refunding our money and we stayed elsewhere.

A really neat old hotel with a lot of character. The room we stayed in didn't have its own bathroom but did include a sink which was nice to have. No AC but there was a box fan and window which was more than adequate. Everything is cash or check, which is a little frustrating. There were a couple of friendly cats roaming around outside and in the lobby which we enjoyed but could be a problem if you have allergies.

Walking distance to everything in town. Grab a drink from the bar and sit in one of their rockers to watch the sunset. Rooms are old but that is part of the charm. Highly suggest paying extra for a private bathroom. Limited parking area but the do have one on side street diagonal from hotel (across from park). They will give you a parking pass when you check-in.

One of the last wood frame hotels on Chautauqua lake. Lovely place, picturesque, nostalgic. Come for a stay, a visit, breakfast, or to rock on the porch. I did a fly over with my Mavic air 2. Took this photo.

Im a local, so when I visit the Lenhart it's for drinks and sitting in the deck to watch Chautauqua Lake and it's glorious sunsets. The deck stretches the length of the hotel in the lakeside and provides great viewing. There are a lot of rocking chairs to sit in with your friends while drinking and gazing. The hotel bar is small and has limited seating, but they make a variety of mixed drinks, including their Porch Rocker. It's by far the favored beverage while on the porch. They have a small list of beers as well if mixed drinks aren't your preference. Parking is tough in Bemus Point so be prepared to hunt and walk to the Lenhart.

Warm and friendly with historical charm. Best spot in Bemus Point to relax and watch the sunset. Amazing breakfast and cozy bar that plays '40's music and current...Frank Sinatra to Renee Fleming. Make sure to try a "Rocker" sitting out on the front porch in your rocker.

It's always a wonderful visit to the Lenhart! I truly believe it's my favorite place to be. Bebe and the staff are wonderful and just can't say enough about sitting on the porch with drink in hand and rocking all our worries away. Always puts a smile on my face when the postcard comes, announcing the opening for another season

Very Quaint place, very historic. Breakfast was great, makes you feel like you're taken back in time to olden days 1800's time. If you are ever in Bemus Point NY make sure you go there. You won't be disappointed!

Understand that historic means no A/C, no elevator, no TV. The window had a very poor excuse for a screen. Since the room was near 100 F with the window down I had to leave it up (it would not fully open by the way) but that let the bugs in. There was one outlet in the room. The light was plugged into it. And the fan was the other. This left no way to charge my phone unless I didn't mind overheating or not seeing. My group had the hotel cater a dinner. I can't tell you how the food was because they ran out. At first they didn't want to give a refund to those that didn't eat. They said it wasn't their fault if our friends ate too much. Some of the group had to find dinner in town. The porch and view were very nice though.

I thought that this would be a great experience. Wrong! We were there on a Saturday and not able to sleep at all. There were people who ran through the halls and were noisy all night. When I told the desk clerk, she said that we should come back when it is quieter. Not a good thing to say to tired people. There should have been some monitoring of guests. I will never go there again! I did like the breakfast but I was so tired,I hardly remember eating.

No help getting heavy bags up the stairs to fourth floor. (I am over 70.) Found very dirty sock on my pillow underneath the bedspread. Received no offer of compensation for this, just a mild apology and new sheets. No water pressure in shower, just a light, thin spray and a few drips of water. Shower stall looked like a black hole. Soap holder located outside shower area. Some aspects of the hotel were charming but they were overshadowed by the appalling dirty sock and ridiculous bathroom accommodations. Never again!

Lovely, charming hotel. It's like stepping back in time. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and an excellent view of the lake. Rocking chairs on the porch are the perfect touch.

Wow, what a view! huge porch, everyone sits outside and watches the sunset. The inside is historic and super funky (and haunted?). and great service and friendly staff.

Historic old hotel in beautiful Bemus Point. Front porch rocking chairs watching the sunset drinking a rocker from the Lamplighter is the place to be.

Super cool old building that has been in bemus for a very long time. Some say its haunted but many haven't had any weird experiences so just beware for a eventful night no matter what

Just drinks and sitting out front. Lots of chairs and shade to watch the lake. They clearly have a no purchase necessary attitude to the outside seating, which was quite refreshing.
