Tae was a great help and was able to take my car in earlier than my appointment time! He discussed the process very clearly and I had initially brought in my car to have one of the wipers fixed; he discussed with me how there was an issue with the other wiper as well and was able to have it fixed free of charge. The overall service was very quick and I would highly recommend!

Upon arriving on Sunday, April 7th, we encountered some initial frustration. There are a few encounters here my bf and I experience that are unnecessary. However, upon returning to pick up the car, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service provided by Tae. He not only informed us about what was going on in the vehicle multi-inspection but also expressed a genuine willingness to assist us in the future. Tae's professionalism and kindness, along with other helpful staff members we love here, are what keep us returning to the service center.

Friday morning 8:00 AM, Door open at 7: 50 AMpulled my mini van in for inspection and oil change. the manager Tae and the auto repair guy ,was very nice and quick. Fast service here. The Best, my fourth time here.

I went to Pep Boys on Friday for a wheel alignment for my Countryman. Tao was a great service manager and didn't up sell you service you didn't need. He was very curious and polite. David did great job on my alignment. BMW wanted $199 for a 1 time alignment and Pep Boys for the same price offers lifetime, definitely a no brainer.

Excellent service. The guy at the counter was very helpful. He doesn t lie to you. If you re going to be there for a while he will tell you.I made an appointment for a state inspection and they took my car exactly at the time of the appointment. Great staff.

I took my 2017 Mazda cx-3 in to have all four tires replaced and a wheel alignment. They noted that my front rotors needed replacement and all breaks could use replacement but that the front was more urgent. Andre worked with me and I was very happy with the overall price for everything. I wish I had the mechanics name who worked on my car, but anyhow he did a fantastic job with everything. Whatever was done my car feels brand new, the steering wheel turns like it never did before, the breaks are no longer a headache especially in traffic (feels way more smooth) the alignment was flawless, can drive no hands for miles (not gonna do that) First time I left a shop not worried about whether I made the right choice or not. Thank you guys.

Pep Boys on Northern is great. Tae is easy to work with, great with communication. They changed my oil (synthetic) quickly, and even checked a couple of other things on the car (fluids, lights, tires) for free. Absolutely trustworthy!

I thought I might need a new tire but Pep Boys checked all the tires, added air and told me tires were fine and said I was good to go.� Gentleman at front desk was very helpful answering my questions and didn't charge me.� I was impressed with their service.

Tae is such a great representative! He always does what he can to make sure he takes care of your car and whatever services you need. He always calls to let you know if there are any additional services needed for your car before proceeding any further. Most definitely recommend asking for him!

Update (2/8/2024)I went back again and waited a few hours while they did the alignment, and I finally got the alignment report. Lesson is to make sure to communicate what is expected (even things like alignment reports). The mechanics and front desk staff are friendly. Thank you Tae and Charles for being the face of the shop! I would recommend this place. Update (2/7/2024)I went back to the shop and the assistant manager Asif said that old reports can t be redownloaded and they have an option once alignment is complete whether or not to print the report. So communication error on my part I suppose (thought the report was given by default). Will get another alignment soon. Thanks for the explanations guys. Original review (2/6/2024)Proceed with caution when doing an alignment here. I dropped off my car at 11am and had to wait 6 hours before finally getting it back at 5pm. This wouldn't have been a big deal as long as the techs did a good job, but I didn't get an alignment report - they said it would be in the car but it wasn't, so I went back and asked for a copy of the report. Front desk guy (who was very nice) said the manager said I needed to come back for another alignment to get the report. What the hell? The alignment report prints once you do the alignment, so why can't I get my report?On top of that, did a tire balance for all 4 wheels and did not get any info on what happened. I want to know what happened to my car. Where are the reports?

Asif is absolutely wonderful! He has assisted me two visits now and both times he made me feel at ease. Asif explained everything that was needed with patience. He even made me laugh a few times under the stress of car maintenance. .

Long story short, if you do not care about your vehicle skip this review or learn something today. I'm no auto-mechanic or car expert by a long shot. I'm a mid-aged male consumer and I have never felt more vulnerable. Prior to my arrival I called twice to inquire about my situation and ensure that I would be taken in upon arrival due to the car not starting or being able to move it without a tow. The scenario was my car did not start from one day to the next. I was towed into the auto-shop. I waited for over 2 hours, all the while being "updated" and honestly -charmed by the advisor on-duty (He will remain nameless). I observed his exhausted and overwhelming demeanor with tough demand at his position before long I decided to leave. When I returned 2 hours later (4 hours from when my car arrived) - my car was up on the car lift. Truly, at this juncture I assumed my car had been thoroughly checked, to include putting it under the OBD scanner where the ECU gets evaluated and such things occur. 4 other mechanics were seemingly involved in the process by which my car was being "fixed". Up until now- there was no mention of my engine being seized or the car not driving away at the end of the day. But back to when I returned, by now we had a few customers in the very dissatisfying and under sanitized waiting area that is conveniently located between the mechanics auto-shop and the paying stations. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I couldn't help overhear another mid-aged male say that he was unable to pay the asking price and began to raise their voice - by now we are all standing around very uncomfortable to be a customer and certainly feel under valued under the circumstances we are all their for. Nonetheless The Advisor assured me he would talk to me in a moment. At that point he asked the disgruntled customers he had lined up to follow him into another room. One by one I watched them leave before I was approached 1.5 hours later (almost 6 hours from when my car first arrived)- The Advisor told me my car engine was seized. The car would not start after they changed the starter and it was 4.5 hours of labor, he had the first of THREE receipts that he would print out and show me before this nightmare was over (8 hours later). This first receipt said $1448 total. As I began to tear up after realizing I was being fleeced - The Advisor stated "Dont worry I got you" and walked away assuring me that he would have a better price momentarily- indeed after 30 minutes, he returned with a Pen for me to sign an acknowledgement of a summary of charges type of contract where the total was now $1114 - I reminded the employee that I was missing a Veterans discount which is the reason I brought my vehicle to this business in the first place. So after he applied pity my total came to $1084.29 - the car was diagnosed "DOES NOT START" but when the tow truck driver arrived to tow it back...MIRACULOUSLY the car started and from its exhaust blew out a lot of white smoke before a check engine light flashed! Everyone looked around at eachother sketchy and in complete disbelief. I was glad to have walked away with my vehicle even if its with a new problem and not SEIZED which is what they believed it to be.Moral of this story: They will apply discounts as they see fit and when they see fit. SO don't hold back the tears!

Is the worst place ever going to I purchase two new tire from these pepboys two weeks after the tire started leaking air I went back there twice to repair the leaking. They can t find the problem. I told him that I think the tire has a problem. Can you give me a new tire because still under warranty they said no because they can t find the leak cannot go through a warranty they make me sitting right there for over five hours and they know the tire is leaking air slowly. They want me to go back there again? TPS light on again

If I could put 6 stars I could. The place is great but in specifc Tae was amazing and so resourceful, he assisted me and he was beyond courtous, attentive, efficient and Kind. He was so helpful and was the best help I could ask for. He solved all my problems in both of my cars and I am beyond grateful for his tremendous help.

I ve been bringing my car (2007 Solara SLE) to PepBoys Bayside for years, and have always had a positive experience.Asif and Tae are especially helpful, and courteous any time I m there.Never had a problem with any of the mechanics there as well

Went for an inspection on 2017 Honda at 7:45 am made an appointment for 8 . My car checked in at 10:42am the icing on the cake was I was going to fail inspection because of windshield wipers! So that seemed off but I went for it when they printed the bill a $39 . Inspection became $117 ! Wipers were $71 dollars give me a break so I went off and told them remove the wipers no one should have go thru all of that for a simple inspection my wipers cost me $ 22. LADIES TAKE A MAN WITH YOU IFYOU HAVE TO USE PEPBOYS !

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Tae, the customer service person i was dealing with was great - very cordial and professional but that's about the only positive thing I can say. I ordered 4 tires, paid over a thousand bucks mind you, and scheduled an appointment to come in the next day at 9AM. I come to the location about 10 minutes early and find out there is a 2+ hour wait time. WHAT??? Why schedule an appointment if you're going to make customers wait THAT long. I was told it is normal for Pep Boys to book up to 10 people for the same time slot, so you can do the math on how that delay can stack later in the day. HORRIBLE service model with zero consideration towards the customer's time. Well guess what? Order CANCELLED and customer lost. Never again will I go to Pep Boys.

Went to do my annual inspection. They were able to get it done quickly and unlike some other service centers, they did not try to up sell me on anything. Would recommend going there.

We took our SUV to PepBoys (204-11 Northern Blvd, Bayside) to get a new battery. We had the great luck and pleasure to deal with Tae. Just wanted the oil change and replacement of all eight spark plugs and coils. That's what I asked for when I made the appointment. I didn't know I was charged for a fuel efficiency package and an extended warranty until I got home and looked at the receipt.

Made an appointment a week ahead and went there for the time. They estimated time to waiting + service was an 1 1/2 hour. I was waiting about an hour at the waiting area and needed to get a fresh air, from the smells of tires. I walk around the block and saw my car was parked in the end of the block (it was an illegal park as well by the fire hydrogen. Who will be the responsible if I get the ticket?) so I came back and asked how much longer it will take for my service and they said it will take another 1 1/2 hour, so I asked that means it will take 2 1/2 hours total from my original appointment for state inspection and engine oil change? And he said yes. And he also mentioned that this estimate time is not accurate and might take longer. I did seen other cars pull up a head of time even though they arrived later than me. It seems like an appointment is not necessary because they take cars as how ever they want to take. Because I am an asian female and they think they can put me on hold or put on the side to take care of other customers first? Not sure. I didn t want to waste my time for simple engine oil change and state inspection for 2 1/2 hours and additional time. So I just took my car back and went to Mavis Tire at Great Neck. They did in 45mins for both service. No hassle and no appointment was made.If you have time to kill, go this place to smell toxic tire air for 3 hours to have your car to be done and if you don t want to waste your time, highly recommend to try other place.

I ve never seen someone put a tire on so messy. They don t care about you here and just want to get you in and out. Brought four new tires and they treated them like trash. Had a 9 o clock appointment and didn t leave till 1. Never coming back here I was extremely disappointed and will most likely cancel my Pep boys card. Don t go here!

Update: 02/01/24Called and asked Asif about an inspection and was fortunately told today I could come in, but it would be possibly an hour+ wait. Arrived and was reminded that depending on what they find during the inspection it could be quick, or if anything is found work may need to be done. Honest, straight forward, and courteous. Everything I ve described before is still valid. Would recommend them all day.Original Review: Called the day before and was offered a 9am slot to get my NYS Vehicle Inspection the next day. Arrived and checked in my vehicle. Was given an approximate 1 hour window that my vehicle inspection would be completed within. Inspection was completed timely as estimated. Inquired about additional future repair, and was given helpful suggestions and estimates. Would recommend this Pep Boys location to anyone needing to get inspection, or any work done. This particular location's service representatives, and mechanics have provided courteous, honest, and excellent service since I've used them. I would trust them to recommend those I know who are not auto repair literate.
