Look....if you want it done right, this is the place, hands down. Never ever had to bring my cars here twice for the same problem; Joe and Rick are the batman and Robin of this industry...together unstoppable. I've saved time money and headache dealing with them, and have NEVER been led wrong. They work on my muscle car, and my daily and my car runs better and is more reliable because of them. Went in for past 2 days and they couldn t see my car because it wasn t early enough when I went in with 3,4 hours until they closed. I looked up a different muffler shop in the area and they serviced me right away with great customer service. In and out for a great price! Disappointed at this place truly

Joe is hands down the best at handling your classic car needs at affordable prices. He Serviced my 1971 Monte Carlo and had it running like a gem. Joe was fast in getting the job done and he is my preferred choice going forward.

My name is Izzy and i never write reviews however I am so disappointed that I believe this review is warranted. I brought in my 1967 dodge coronet to Joe and he stated he would get it running perfect. His words to me were "you will be able to drive this car to Montauk and with no problems" with that said after having the car for about 8 months, he didn't get the car running properly. I am lucky I made it to my house. He also lost all the paperwork with everything that was put into the car. He is very irresponsible and I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.Service: Auto engine tuning

My catalytic converter was cutout from my 2004 Prius. Fast estimate, timely service and a few days later, my car was back in service. All with a multi year warranty on the work done! They got me in and out with flex pipe replacements after going over my CEL codes with me. Fixed the problem for less than I expected and I passed the inspection a few days later.Thanks!

Glad I did not follow the negative reviews! I did not have any problems at all. This is not my first experience there. The guys did the right job saved me money. Yes they do work with you. I realize reviews are important for all of us but some can be misleading! Thanks for your excellent work and honesty guys!!!!

Dropped my car off at 8:30 this morning, got a call at 10 about what needed to be done to fix it, and then back before 12:30. They re fast, my car sounds better than ever, and Ricky was so friendly. I highly recommend!

I don't know about the quality of their work because I never got that far. It doesnt seem as if they are interested in new customers because their customers service is seriously lacking.At 9am on a Friday I was told from a lounging position on the couch(he didnt bother to stand or sit up to greet me when I walked through the door) after I explained my issue, that I couldn't get an estimate because there was a car on the lift. I thought, ok thats strange because there are multiple empty lifts and atleast 2 employees in front of me. I asked pleasantly, how long would it be? He said nonchalantly he is waiting on a customer to call back and it is a "hit or miss kind of thing from there". He asked me to leave my car, which was odd if he didnt even know when he would be done. So, I could potentially be without my car the entire day for an estimate?!? I objected and I asked if when he was done, could he give me a call and I would bring the car back so I wouldnt be stuck at the shop. He said "No. I don't do that type of thing" I ran out of patience, said bye and exited. The negative reviews made sense now.

They replaced the catalytic converter that was stolen. Friendly and very helpful. Ordered and completed within 24 hours!!

I've been here twice now. Once in 2011 to have a bung welded for my wideband o2 sensor and a week ago to have a portion of my exhaust modified and another portion repaired. Both jobs were done on my Evo 8. I must say their work is great. Attention to detail is definitely there. They are also reasonably priced. Plus they are actually car guys (which definitely helps).I think wether you have an everyday car or a track vehicle they can be trusted to handle the job. I rarely write reviews(this is my first on google) but I think it's well deserved.

I pass by American Muffler almost everyday. I bought a '72 Pontiac Lemans and wanted to add new tail pipes and exhaust tips, so I decided to stop by.I met Rickey. We spoke about the job and decided on a plan. Rickey listened, did a little computer research and began the job. I knew exactly what I wanted and Rickey expertly provided a beautiful job, exactly the way I wanted it. I could not be happier with his work,and his attention to detail. Rather than having to live with what a mechanic "thinks" is right, I will be able to proudly show off what "IS" right!Rickey, Thank you!

Excellent service, saw my car in less then a half hour and was fixed within an hour. Good prices and knowledgeable. Old school vibe, I miss places like this. They fix not only exhausts! They fix everything.

Bad attitudes. Not 'mechanics' by any means. Stay away, this shop is bad news. I had my exhaust done elsewhere in two hours exactly the way i wanted it after being told it was impossible by this shop. Don't waste your time. Joe is downright rude and treated me like crap. If a job isn't cut and dry easy, they don't try to do it. Completely negative experience and I will be recommending everyone go elsewhere if they want quality service. These guys are a total joke. Nothing but aggravation and a waste of time. So unprofessional. They just don't care and don't try. Extemely disappointed and will NEVER return to that shop. I've learned my lesson to stayAway from American muffler shop in Baldwin.

This is the best mechanic shop I have been to. They are honest, fair, and friendly. Their prices are excellent. And if you tell them whats wrong with your car, they know exactly what to do. I dont go anywhere else but here.

Spoke with Joe on the phone about hanging a muffler on a 93 Honda Accord cut Weld with two J hook 20 minutes work . Charge me one hr labor which is $85 a hr my bill $108.00Bait me in and switch .Rape me guess don't want me as a customer!!Bad business never again not nice at all !!!

I went to American Muffler in Oceanside to correct a bad exhaust job done on my 84 Mustang. I brought them a stock H pipe and they made it work with my existing mufflers and even hooked up the stock smog pump tubing to run into the cats as the system was designed. Very happy and highly recommend.

Joe, & ricky were very helpful giving me what i was looking for on my 2016 silverado 6.2 liter pickup. Got flowmaster super 44 exhaust, & ricky did a great job on the custom piping, Work looks great, and sounds awesome! Reasonably priced, i would recommend getting work done by american muffler in baldwin, to anyone looking to upgrade their exhaust system.Thanx guys!RICH S.

The WORST EXPERINCE EVER ! Joe is a STARIGHT ASS HOLE ! He wanted to over Charge to fix a Muffler, $682 . Proceeded to check the muffler detached and never put it BACK TOGETHER ! Overall the EXPERINCE was not pleasant. They have horrible attitudes and over price there customers. I then took my car to American Mufflers on Old Country Road in Westbury, THE BEST EXPREINECE I HAVE EVER INCOUNTERED AT AN AUTO MECHANIC. They did not over price and charged me $250 to replace my whole muffler system. My car was not noisy and totally soundless. American mufflers in Westbury was totally Honest and NOT OVER PRICED WITH NASTY ATTITUDES.

Staff is very rude and loud on the phone. When asked for availability they say come in and join the line or list then hang up on you. I haven t been to this location and just off the phone conversation I doubt I would ever stop by this place.

best experience i have ever had dealing with these guys its like a breath of fresh air, no over charging, no ummm, idk ill have to see and then crack you in the head nope, straight shooters and damn good guys..any or all your hi-performance work or regular daily driven stuff theses\ guys are top notch..

Very knowledge and friendly. A little pricey, but the job was done right and I would go back for all my vehicle repairs.
