I sent this message to the main office at Smith Boys, I feel it's important to share my experience before another customers has the same experience.My wife and I were at your Ashville location last week looking to buy 2 boats, we also wanted to purchase a slip and start storage contracts as well. We use to be customers but stopped coming to you because of issues in the past but heard you have a new manager and an excellent tech/service department this year so we decided to give you another chance.We talked to your sale manager/sales lady and she told us that we could go look at and uncover any boats we want but she didn't have the time to come out with us. After a while of us uncovering and looking at boats, she never once came out to check on us so we went back into the store. While we were in the store waiting to talk to her, she was being very nasty/unprofessional toward your other employees. We did not like what we seen/heard and with her making us uncover boats and not giving us any attention, we walked out. That same day we spent $300,000 on a Malibu and $125,000 on a Harris Pontoon at another dealership in Pennsylvania, money we planned on spending with you but because of your sales lady/manager we decided a company with better values deserved our money. You finally fixed your service department but we will continue to tell people about our bad experience and will continue doing buisness elsewhere until you make a change to your sales department.I will say I've heard from relatives and friends that the service department has improved immensely. I was told the new service manager is great to deal with and that they have a tech that is really knowledgeable and knows how to get things done.With that said, if you need your boat worked on then give them the chance but I would never purchase a boat from them with the horrible sales staff.

Came up for the weekend and stayed at a family friends lake home within seeing distance of Smith Boys. It was kind of a last minute thing and we called to see if we could rent a boat for the weekend or one day. They didn t have any for Saturday but they did for Sunday which was great! The pontoon was amazing and so nice! The price was great too. They are very friendly and treat you like they have known you forever! When we go back and if we don t have a boat we will be renting from them again! Thanks again guys!

They took amazing care of us. From getting a last minute rental to the amazing staff Mike, tracy and the staff we picked up from today. We will definitely be back. We'll worth the 2 1/2 hour drive.

Rented a 2023 pontoon boat, had multiple problems and returned it early the next day. Don t rent on a Friday, they close early at 2. They charge per day according to their open business hours not a 24 hour day. Felt they were overpriced, poor quality, rude on the phone and only concerned that we didn t damage the prop. No customer satisfaction. Lesson learned.

We are very happy with the new management at Smith Boys. Our boat had an electrical issue and Sean Strong and Chris went up and beyond to resolve the problem. Thank you for the outstanding service.

If I could give you 0 stars I would, we called to ask about a part we needed for our boat about 2 weeks ago, parts person said he would call back he never did call. We went elsewhere and got what we needed. Guess you don't need to business or just don't care if you have any. We usually get our filter and oil from you at end of season guess won't anymore just lost a customer. Had heard other stories since about you service there.

We were searching for a boat and found the exact one we wanted. The sale was handled professionally by Nick. Boat orientation was scheduled and then rescheduled to accommodate our schedule as new home owners on the lake. We met Craig at the Chautauqua location and he took us out on the lake for 3 hours. As a former teacher, Craig showed all the best qualities of a teacher. He was informative and patient in working with first time boaters. Further, we experienced a delay in lift installation at our dock and we truly appreciated their flexibility in keeping our boat for an extra week until our lift is installed. We give the highest rating to Smith Boys.

Very knowledgeable and courteous staff. Craig definitely knows his way around boats and could answer all our questions. We called Smith Boys about a specific boat on the website, set up an appointment, and Craig spent the time to make sure we knew everything about the boat before we signed and when we picked it up to take home. Nick made sure the paperwork went smoothly, returned our calls when we had questions.They are also highly knowledgeable about the local attractions but the weather was only good enough for a quick outing when we picked our boat up.10 out of 10.

We had a wonderful boat buying experience from the team at Smith Boys in Lakewood, NY. Nick's professional manner made the process quick and easy from start to finish. Our boat orientation was amazing and very thorough. Craig is a skilled boatsman who spent 2 hours with us on the water making sure we were comfortable and safe with all aspects of using our new boat-- docking, operating its features and controls, care/cleaning, and trailering. His knowledge and expertise of all types of watercraft is very impressive and his kind and patient manner with newbies was much appreciated. We would highly recommend Smith Boys of Lakewood, NY for all your boating needs.

Smith Boys "accidentally" shrink wrapped our boat. This caused over $3k in damage needing to add a new computer module to the engine because the entire boat was covered in mold due to improper wrapping. Their response was very lousy. We have been on the lake for 18 years and will never go back to Smith Boys.

Just purchased our first pontoon boat from Smith Boys! Great service! Awesome employees! Craig was great! He toured us around the lake to help us navigate our first time on the water with new boat. We are so excited for the summer! Thank you Smith Boys!

Took our boat their for service. They kept the boat for 3 weeks without providing an update. Then they said they did the work and didn t. We received a bill for that work and we told them the work hadn t been done. They said they would look into it but instead they just sent another bill. What a scam!

We just purchased a brand new Bayliner-the experience could not have been more pleasurable. Nick and Craig were fantastic to work with and a lot of fun! We needed a little help launching for the first time-Nick and Craig were so incredibly busy that their other workers were right there to step up and help us. The whole overall experience with Smith Boys of Chautauqua was fantastic! Would definitely work with them again!!

Never got a callback from the sales staff the lady was off the day I was there they told me she will get back to me in a few days it's been almost 2 weeks. I guess I was not important or just didn't want to spend $30,000

We rented a 23 foot pontoon boat for 3 days while staying on the lake for a family reunion. Tracy was outstanding to work with in booking the reservation and all staff we encountered were polite and very helpful. We look forward to renting again next year!

Had a wonderful experience with Smith Boys, I would highly reccomend using them for your boat rental experience. They were very professional and accommodating, especially Tracey we had a little hicupp and she made everything right for us so we could enjoy our day.

I don't know much about the boat shop. We were there on my girlfriend's mother's boat for the 4th of July 2021 and that was amazing. The flares around the lake and all the variety of fireworks were awesome. There some reckless and bit annoying rambunctious boaters but other than that everyone was pretty chill and it was a great time.

Disappointed... our Easter weekend boat trip ruined. I called to confirm a time to pick up our boat from storage just because I had some free time and wanted to grab it a bit earlier in the day this coming Friday. We were told 2 weeks prior that no problem it will be washed and waxed and ready to go and they guarantee it. (a free service because of other issues) anyway now they tell me that our boat was not where they thought it was in there warehouse and it could be maybe 2 more weeks possibly longer but couldn't give me any time frame. Now my kids are upset as well as I am as we had a weekend planned all around the boat for Easter. (I took time off work and had it all planned out) next time don't make escuses and also if you find out the time changed hey give us a call. If I just showed up with my kids which was the plan. Then what. tell my kids sorry for the 4 hour drive we have to turn around and just go home because this place failed to do there job and check before speaking and guaranteeing something. Not a way to operate a business.

They had a boat listed for sale online and it looked like it'd be a nice option in our price range (which isn't a low budget, mind you) We arrived and the boat was absolute garbage and nothing like what was advertised. I said "this isn't the boat on your website" and the salesman says "oh yeah that's a stock photo". A stock photo?!?! Maybe it should be watermarked with "stock photo". The pictures looked like a clean boat and the one on their lot looked like you'd be lucky to make it past the marina. I'd never in a million years put my kids and their friends on the boat they showed us! Unless you have time to waste, don't bother looking at their inventory online and expecting it to be an honest reflection of what's actually on their lot...

While their over the phone customer service may not raise any red flags their true costumer service certainly will. We pulled our boat from them because they lied about the service they were paid to provide. I would not recommend to anyone to use them ever!!

Nothing good to say my boat came back costing me $350 to fix their screw up. Customer service in service department was horrible. Very unfriendly staff with bad attitudes. They need to train their repair staff. The service manager hungup on me after I called to see where my boat was. They told me 1 day to fix it and it took over 2 weeks.

I filled out a rental request hours before showing up at the marina for the boat. The request came back as confirmed but when we went to go take out the boat the lady at the desk told us "all the boats are out and all requests go to Buffalo threw our website". If that is the case then why wasn't the request denied anf why isn't the location of all online requests written on the website as a disclosure? I wish I had the answers but the lady was down right rude and snarky. Our business will be taken elsewhere.

Won't buy from this place ever again.Their costumer service doesn't exist. I purchased a brand new Bayliner from them. however can't get service after numerous attempt to contact by phone and in person.. they're great at taking your money..

So we took our boat to Smith Boys in Chautauqua the second weekend of August it is now 10 and a half months later and they still haven't had our both pic with an insurance claim waiting to get it fixed they change service manager Lakemont Avenue the original diagnosis and now it's new service manager Mike decided that he thinks in his professional opinion it's something else so they won't do anything they won't even give me the information insurance company which is waiting for that information if you take your boat to these people you are kidding yourself if you're going to get good service absolutely the worst professional business I have ever dealt with the insurance company has advised up to move to a different repair shop just horrible absolute formal customer service horrible to deal with do not return phone calls just absolutely disgusting

Worst marina on Lake Chautauqua. High staff turnover leads to non-existent communication between them or you. Salespeople are, in a word, predatory. So many better places to buy and service a boat on the lake.

Wow!!! When you are a charter summer time break downs are killers! Smith Boys pulled a rabbit out of their hat today for me. Was looking at 3-4 weeks down time instead my repair happened in just over an hour. Thanks!!!
