Had an appointment for 1pm for an oil change and tire rotation....got here at 12:50.... it's 3:10pm and I'm still waiting for my vehicle!!!!! What's the point of appts if they aren't going to be honored....

As always, the Shop (at 1795 Central Ave, Colonie) still offers consistently great service and professional (and extremely Patient) employees - which is a lot more than can be said about corporate Pep Boys as a company. This specific location is the best I've ever been to and won't go anywhere else anymore because of their repetitive Wins. Highly recommend for all your vehicle needs, from Inspections and Oil Changes to Brakes and Tires, and everything in between this is the store to go to! (I recommend making an appointment, they are a busy location and will do right by you, but an appointment helps manage your time and guarantees your service when you drop off your vehicle.)Bottom line: The crew here are always friendly, fast, and consistently reliable in their work!____________________________Excellent customer service!! They have the know how and the professional attitude that leaves you feeling confident and comfortable with the work being done to your vehicle! Highly Recommend!

Gene was pleasant and accommodating, the service was good. Be aware that the website will offer you an appointment time but isn't aware if there has been a time overrun at the actual location, a time over run can be caused by things that are out of control of the employees like a late parts delivery. Remember to call the location to confirm your appointment time prior to arriving.

I have my tires replaced in a timely manner on Saturday. I have been using pep Boys since January 2024 when I had an emissions problem, and they were attentive to my needs and got the problem fixed quickly and in a cost-effective way. I plant to use Pep Boys for all future automotive needs.

Spoke with Tom on the phone and ordered tires on Friday. I went in for my appointment today and both of the men upfront were very friendly. Romain was the one who checked me out and he went above and beyond to help me and make sure I got the right price. Highly recommend them!

Best price on mounting a tire by far! Seems like everywhere else wants to charge an arm and a leg for it, I thought I was gonna have to buy a machine and start charging a reasonable rate to embarass Firestone - no need, just go to Pep Boys instead, they must have had the same idea as me!

When I showed up for my original appointment for new tires, they told me that the tires were not in yet and that they tried to call me but my voicemail was not set up. However, I work in a remote area and tried to answer but the call dropped. I even tried to call back but when I did they said they were unsure what it was about and to call back again the next day. Ultimately they only attempted to call one time, and didn t try to let me know the tires were not there before my appointment that I drove an hour to get to. The next week, I had to call back myself to find out if the tires were there. No one called me when they came in to let me know. I make a new appointment, I sit and wait for the car to be finished with the new tires on, then I get the receipt and it says customer declined alignment when I was never asked if I wanted my alignment that was supposed to be INCLUDED with my installation of the new tires. Will not be coming back here. The Black Friday tire deal was great, everything else customer service wise was not.

I went in for a car inspection and they were so nice and continuously updating me as I was in there. It was quick and easy! Highly recommend. Quicker and more personal than Jiffy Lube.

The wait was 3+ hours wait even with an appointment, 4 tire replacement only. Numerous appointments made for the same time, I had to ask to be checked out. I had to ask after checking out for my used tires as I had to go back to the work area to retrieve them because they didn't put it in the back of my truck which was specified at check in.

Got me right in had my car lined up did a very good job everybody was very nice and polite. Very pleasant people to do business with I live 60 minutes away it is worth the time and drive to go down there. I had 4 tires replaced 2 months ago at Pep Boys and had the same experience that's why I keep going back. There is a lot of auto shops around my area Saratoga NY but I preferer to do my business with Pep Boys.

I was way overdue for an engine air filter change and after checking out their website and services, decided to try the Colonie, NY Pep Boys. I made an appointment and arrived a bit early. They had me in and out before my original appointment time, with only the small cost of the filter- and that including being shown the old dirty filter and answering my questions about winter tires and their other services!!! They also did phone service tracking with updatesand everyone I dealt with and saw, from the original phone call through today's service, were super nice, polite, neat and extremely helpful. I could tell my car was in good, experienced hands and I am looking forward to doing future services here! Much thanks, Pep Boys

If I could give them no stars I would. I had given a friend of mine a ride to pick up her vehicle from there when I realized that not only did I have a nail/ screw in my tire but that my tire was flat, literally no psi in it at all. When I asked if they could squeeze me in bc I live an hour from that location the man behind the counter cut me off and was extremely nasty. He said and I quote I may be able to plug it by Sunday, that s how busy I am . I was kinda confused and truly had no idea what I was going to do b/c it was flat flat. They did fill up my tire with air but that s when the tech helping me realized I was losing air just as fast as they were putting it in and went to ask if they could do it quickly(super nice tech btw). The front desk man again came out very nasty and said I told you I could do it by Sunday! I will NEVER GO BACK THERE EVER AGAIN! If it wasn t so difficult to get my spare out I would have but it s truly a pain and wouldn t have been worth me doing it just to get to a different shop. Likely the mavis s in the area are amazing and took care of me I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I went for an oil change and planned to wait. I needed a bit of maintenance work was unplanned, so I needed a ride to work. Prices were reasonable and I received a complimentary ride to my job and back to pick up my vehicle.

Great service, very polite staff. Very helpful with questions about your vehicle. Made an appointment online was easy. The price I paid for the work that was done was very reasonable. Had four new tires installed and alignment done as well.

Went in for four new tires alignment had an appointment for 1:00 as I was waiting for the work to be done on my car one of the service desk attendance had his son come in do an oil change didn't have an appointment and was done before me then another person came in that obviously knew the other guy at the service desk so this person had a problem with their car mechanics stopped working on my car and attended this person fix their car then went back to my car. I was waiting almost 4 hours for four tires and alignment. After leaving when they were done with my car had a little bounce call them immediately came in the next day and they fix the problem so that's why they're getting one star. Not happy with the service here my time is valuable just like anybody else is they should not have worked on other people's cars that did not have an appointment

I cannot say how happy I am with the service I rec d based on my urgency for the repair. Was given a 12:00 noon completion time and was done and out at 11:05. AMAZING!!! Thank you all for your help, Gene, Tom and Luis!!!!

The original work was done to my satisfaction but while they were working on my tires they cross-threaded a stud and lug nut. They fixed them for free but it took a lot more time than I had planned on for the work I needed done.

Made an appointment the previous day for new tires. I prepaid, and arrived early for the appointment. The waiting room was full, the managers were were polite and accommodating. I was able to shop nearby, get something to eat and when I returned, the waiting room was empty. I could not really see the work area, but I could see that no staff were using a cellphone or earbuds. They were paying attention to the vehicle being worked on.

PepBoys in Niskayuna are very polite and professional, they answer all of my questions and take the time to explain deals and rebates. I have moved from California to New York and immediately looked for the nearest PepBoys as they, in my opinion, have the best quality of service.

Always great service and done quickly! Except this time when I was heading home from an oil change and my check engine light came one. I called and the gentleman on the phone said it wasn t something they did. He s been doing this for 18 years. Well I went back and he pulled a code and it came up as fuel mixture issue. He cleared the code. Popped the hood and low and behold they never put the oil fill cap back on which in turn made my vehicle throw the code. He started by checking the oil level, which was good cause I was only 2-3 miles away and went right back. Then said there no oil on your hood or anywhere else so you didn t lose any. I swiped my finger on my hood and there was oil on my hood. All he could do was apologize and say have a nice day. Not a, sorry for the attitude, it was completely our fault as we didn t do the proper job in completing it. I m just glad my truck threw a code. If it didn t I probably would have lost more oil and possibly had more issues.I have been bringing both our vehicles there for years and never had an issue until now. I will most likely go back as well, but will check all their work.I just didn t care for the attitude that was given to me when I knew it was something that they did to my vehicle. It was wrong and an apology was never given for that at all. I hope I don t encounter it again as hopefully he was a little humbled by being proven wrong.

Don't get me wrong. Great service. They rotated my tires. However the interior is all black. From the ceiling to the door to the steering wheel. All greasy and stained.

Inspected my friend's car recently and removed his tinting at exorbitant cost ($350??????), while somehow also leaving a weird sticky film of residue on the lower half of his windshield that made driving dangerous.Edit: we were asked to contact the email address below, did so, waited almost two weeks and were told that prices were discussed and agreed on. This is a LIE. My friend wasn't told how much the service would be until he paid for it, as he assumed he wouldn't be quoted above industry standard. He was quoted far more.They also didn't acknowledge that they left his windows absolutely *filthy*.Don't bother replying to the customer service agents. They'll lie to you about your own experiences, even when you're simply leaving a review.

Went in to have a noise looked at and or diagnosed, was serviced at the front desk by someone who claims to 25+ years of experience and was told flat out, "I don't fix noises" even after describing the problem in as simple of a way possible, I was told the same thing and was turned away and told to bring my 25 year old vehicle to the dealership and to shell out the money there

I had my car serviced here for an oil change and free tire rotation. You can schedule an appointment online, which applies any online coupons as well. The service was convenient and they served free coffee! Although it took a little longer than I would have expected, everyone was friendly and looked like they were working hard. I would get my car serviced here again!
