My first time here. I made an appointment the day before. Smooth and simple NYS inspection. Really friendly staff. I was in and out in under an hour. I ll definitely be coming back. Thanks!Since this review I ve returned twice for oil changes and another inspection, this is my go to car place for routine maintenance. Thankfully I ve haven t needed more than that. James and Derik are great.

They are super helpful here!! This is the 2nd time I ve had an issue with my car and Derek was very nice and was very knowledgeable both times. Extremely fair pricing, I would 100% recommend going here.

Highly recommend this location took it for a alignment and have to come back because my check engine light came on and they fix my problem right away. It was great and efficient work. I will be coming back again. Thank you for y all hard work and dedication to my car.

Very pleased with Midas. I was scheduled for an inspection and oil change at another auto shop and was told that the person who does inspections did not come. I called Midas and they said they could do everything for me. Luckily I was right across the street. Great customer service and very clean. Will definitely return.

I have been using Midas for my car service for many years. I have found as a woman it can be iffy to go to an independent repair shop because I had multiple bad experiences. I started going to this Midas location nearly 30 years ago, and I ve used them for inspections and service consistently throughout the years. My car started to feel like there was a brake issue, so I went to see Derek and his team identified that I needed brakes, tires, and left shaft to be replaced. That bill was more than expected, but Derek reminded me that all of those repairs are very normal and expected maintenance, and he offered me a cold water while I took a moment to calm down. Work was done efficiently and I left knowing my car was safe and that I would be in good shape until my next inspection. I am so glad I can take my car for repairs to a trustworthy location, a true rarity. Make your appointment now rather than driving with poor brakes or tires!

Good diagnostics and reset errors, fast tire replacement plus alignment. Decent prices.But check the car after repair, sometimes you may have surprises. In my case they scratched the front bumper. I returned to them after couple of days, they checked the cameras, recognized the damage. Midas covered the body work and paint to fix the scratch. Because everything was covered, 5 stars.

Staff, techs, and managers need to get on the same page before they make empty promises to customers regarding payment.I went to get a new battery, which was the diagnosis shared with me after brining my car in for a check engine light. Pricy, but since I trusted their work I made the decision to go ahead. Upon leaving, the light was still on. Concerning, but things happen. The tech cleared the code and I was on my way. Not even 350ft down Central Avenue, the car completely dies. If you know Central Avenue in Albany you know that it is the last place where you want your car to quit working. My fianc� pushed me to the side of road and I managed to get back to the shop. The tech, a very nice man named James, was apologetic and told me that it was an error on their end, and even showed me two cables that his other tech assessed was the larger issue. I told James I was not going to pay anything more as the situation was completely unacceptable, regardless if it was a mistake or a separate issue as I spent over an hour dealing with their errors and nearly getting read ended. James assured me I would not pay anything more as it was a misstep on their end, and that because I was a frequent customer, he would let Derrick (manager) know and things would be squared away. Feeling frustrated but a bit better, I leave the car for another day to be looked at. Today, the Derrick calls me and tells me a completely different story. Derrick offered no apology to me, all business. He even went as far as saying that this happened on his one day off a week , as if I should feel badly for him while I am dealing with a scary and frustrating situation. I will never trust Midas again and am disgusted by the way I was treated after trusting them with my car for many years. While a slight discount on deducting labor was appreciated (still paid about $700 total), I was deceived initially and did not feel taken seriously. There was no human component to the way I was treated and I can imagine if something like this happened to you or your family, you d want a company to do right by you.Save yourself the hassle, headache and frustration and go somewhere else.

Fast, excellent service. Professional and courteous. We broke down on the highway and towed here. We spoke with James. He got us back on the road the very same day. Highly recommended!

I will also tell you it's absolutely the staff that makes this the most efficient , knowledgeable and affordable place for your car needs !I have never met a more helpful and friendly staff ! These guys go out of their way to educate you in a way someone can understand what needs to be done with your car . Management phenomenal!Make this your go to for all your automotive needs ! You won't be sorry !!After talking to my husband I have to add that Jeffrey went above and beyond to help us ! Midas on Central Ave has the most amazing mechanics/staff! I came in with two broken wipers near closing time and they didn t hesitate to help me. They were friendly and very skilled. Of all the places in Albany, this is my #1! Thanks for everything!

Had some trouble with my wife's vehicle and just needed to talk to someone. Went to multiple shops along Central ave and finally was able to stop and speak with the store manager Erik (not sure of it was Derik or Erik) and he was very friendly helpful and knowledgeable. The difference between speaking with him and employees at other shops is you could tell he genuinely cared and wanted to give me the best options available for my specific situation. Since I didn't have service done here and ended up selling the car I atleast wanted to thank him. The only negative thing I can say is unfortunately I left my wife and daughter in the car and they had to watch the one chubby employee walk back and forth to a car he was working on behind the building with another employee and everytime they went back and forth my wife and daughter had to see his underwear since he doesn't feel its unprofessional to sag his pants like he is in prison letting everyone know he is available to the rest of the pod

I just registered my car and needed a vehicle inspection. Not only did Rob squeeze me in without an appointment, he took my tints off so I would pass inspection. One stop shopping for vehicle inspection.

Went to Midas for an oil change which was extremely affordable. I also asked if they could look at my one tire (all four are brand new from somewhere else) because it was having a slow leak and I couldn t find the problem myself. They did the oil change and then found a nail in my tire and plugged it up for no charge! That was the nicest thing at that time because I have limited income. And now I don t have to stress about filling my tire with air everyday. Thank you guys!

Went in for a inspection on my car for an 8am appointment. They were having a "meeting" and said when they were done I'd be the first in. Finally at 8:20 I just left. Never even got my car in. So unprofessional I understand staff meetings but how about you do it before you're supposed to open.....

The guys at the shop are some of the most respectful and helpful mechanics I've ever met. They fix my car but also help me understand what went wrong. I appreciate the level of detail and hard work they put into their services. I've been going to this shop for years and will continue to do so.

Did amazing! Brought my car for ebreak repair and it was done quickly and affordably. My daughter went in for her A/C you claimed it was my AC compressor that was broken. About a month later it wasn t working again she barely used it took it back for you to tell her it was a different part to the AC. I don t member what it was called that leaks Freon, which is a whole different part that s not covered and claimed it wasn t leaking before, and a rock must ve flew up and started to leak. So I feel very unfair to pay $900 for something that was not fixed and a rock magically hit it in the right spot to break it. I believe she should be refunded!!!

There is a special place in Hell for people who rip others off the way they do. I went in a year ago to get work done and recently went somewhere new to get my horn fixed. Turns out, the last people in there (them) had broken a piece off and just lazily wrapped the wiring around. They also apparently never changed my spark plugs, even though they charged me for it. Disgusting, and if there were any justice they would get shut down.

Asked for new spark plugs. They put them in but they didn't replace some of the bolts they took out to do so. One of the spark plugs gaskets was busted. Check engine light only turned on after I got my car back. Just paid $500 to fix their mistake at a different mechanic. What a rip off!!!

Went to get my alternator replaced, I provided my own alternator & got charged $907 For labor. They took advantage because they saw that I was in need. Definitely don't recommend, specifically if you're in an emergency.

I'm a young female who is pretty nervous about going anywhere for anything about my car since I have 0 knowledge about cars, Robert who was working the desk that day was very kind and very honest. They didn't try to push me into getting something I didn't need I just made the appointment online came in and that was that, easiest experience I've had in an auto shop!

This midas location is a complete Nightmare. I would never bring my vehicle here after they failed to correctly fix my car after I payed $4,000+ I had my vehicle taken to another midas location to determine the problem after bringing the vehicle back 3 separate times to this location for them to correct the issue. The staff has very poor customer service skills & worst of all no common sense for a simple car repair or diagnosis. Shout out to the district manager that took the time to review my documentation & recorded conversations. He apologized an corrected the situation professionally. A paying customer should never leave a place unsatisfied!
