Update 9/12/22 The secure key drop off is super easy. Still providing detailed reports of work, issues with vehicles. Good communication, thorough work. They never recommend unnecessary work.Update 4/1/22: They are setting up a secure electronic access key drop off/pick up for established customers.Original: Great service. Our truck broke down. We had to have it towed. I don t live in that area so I just picked a place to have it towed to. Chuck called me the next day and told me that it would be a little bit before he could work on my truck because they were so Backed up but a couple days later he called me and told me what was wrong with my truck and told me that he could fix it the next day. We were so thankful that he did that for us so fast I couldn t have asked for a better customer service and his wife Deb was just as nice. I would recommend this place to anyone you don t find customer service like that anymore very often. So thank you so much for such a wonderful experience and a fast turnaround.Mr and Mrs Olechowski

Consaul has been servicing my and my girlfriend's car for years now and they are absolutely fantastic. Very fair, they talk to you and try to share knowledge, and their electronic service system that breaks down the service they perform with photos of the problems is great. I absolutely recommend them.

Just was in for a simple inspection and oil change. Everything was great. We're talking a '87 Vette here and nothing is simple. Great people to do business with.

Brought my civic in for an exhaust replacement. Owners were really nice. I really appreciated the text updates which included the condition of my car and detailed pictures. I thought it would ve taken a couple days but it was fixed by the end of the same day I had brought it in. I will definitely be going back for any future car work.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

Fair and honest, there is nothing more that you need from a car repair shop. However they are also friendly and timely. We take both of our vehicles here and will continue to!

Chuck does a great job of explaining and going over everything he sees and recommends. You receive pictures and notes on all aspects of the job. Timely service and excellent explanation of parts and service needed!Chuck and Deb have serviced my vehicles for almost 20 years and have been honest when a vehicle is not worth any more repairs. This place is the best mechanic I ve ever been to. They have great customer service, take the time to go over everything with you, and take pictures, videos, and detailed notes during a vehicle inspection. I was delightfully surprised by this place. They were not pushy and gave me a fair priced quote for work that needed to be done. This place is definitely my new auto shop.

Deb and Chuck are professional, knowledgeable and always helpful. Even when they are busy , if you have a car problem, they will try to fit you in. We were having a repeated problem with the O2 sensors in our car causing the engine light to come on even after replacing them. Chuck kept investigating until he found a tiny crack in a flexible exhaust pipe that was triggering the O2 sensor. Once that was replaced, we haven't had a problem since. We really appreciated Chuck's attention to detail and willingness to get the problem solved.

The team here does great work. Never overselling and always prompt and clean. Communication is great. They show you what needs to be done, share price and schedule and always true to it. I discovered this car repair shop in 2012 and have been going back here ever since. At first it was about the convenience of it's location and the fact that it's a locally owned mechanic shop. After a few trips, I realized that they actually know what their doing and care about their customer's cars more than their wallets.I've been to many car repair/mechanic shops in the Albany region and haven't found a place I'd rather drop my car off at.

I have had my Subaru serviced several times by Consaul Auto Care. I am extremely impressed by how competent, honest, thrifty and down to earth both Chuck and Debbie are. My latest car problem was an air conditioner that would not work. From going to forums on line, I became aware at how tricky AC problems on older Subarus can be to diagnose and treat. The dealer immediately said that the problem is always a worn out compressor which would need to be replaced. Having had a great experience with Consaul Auto Care before, I brought the car to Chuck who evaluated the problem, spent time on line researching the potential problems and diagnosed the problem as a bad revolution sensor. He wouldnt guarantee that he was correct, but offered reasonable assurances. He was absolutely correct, replaced the sensor and the AC works perfectly. Instead of a $1800 dealership solution, Chuck fixed the problem for $290($120 for new sensor plus labor). I have no agenda in writing this review other than to express how happy I am with the service I have received and how much I like and enjoy working with Chuck and Debbie. Terrific experiences are a rarity in this world. Consual Auto Care has provided several. I am extremely happy that I found Consaul Auto Care and they will certainly be my go to shop for all of my auto service needs.

Best auto repair shop I've been to. Expert knowledge, timely customer service. Honest and thorough explanation of car status. Detailed video and photographic descriptions of problems. You are lucky if you find this company.

Happened to need a local garage and so glad I found this one. New my problem already going in. Debbie in the front took fantastic care of me. Took time to explain things that were wrong and what was the most important and what could wait. So pleased how everything was handled and fixed. After learning that Chuck is the go to guy for all of the local dealers in the area when they get an vehicle they can't fix, and because of a puzzling issue I was having with a truck that Chuck figured out in under an hour, I decided to cut out the middle man and go straight to Chuck from now on. Save time and money! Get your vehicle fixed right the first time at Consaul Auto!.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AUTO SERVICE!!!! If I could give negative stars, I would! Only for Oil change and minor service, but if you need something more involved....RUN! ....Don t walk to another mom and pop mechanic. They do not know what they are doing. Ripped me off on a service....had to keep going back after paying and they could not fix issue...I went to Ruth s and they were able to fix my car first time..should have gone to Ruth s first. CONSAUL AUTO CARE NEVER AGAIN. YOU WASTED MY TIME, ENERGY AND $$$. TRUST ME, IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT THIS SHOP, GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!

My wife's van had an electrical problem that could have been caused by one of several different things. Chuck narrowed it down and said it could be an expensive module (buried behind an interior sidewall panel in the rear cargo area) or merely the connection to it. After getting to the module, he unplugged the connector, reconnected it - and it has worked fine ever since! He saved me a small boatload of money on that module!

Consaul Auto Care fixed it right the first time. Expert service, on time and reasonably priced. Besides that, some of the nicest PEOPLE you will ever find. Don't hesitate to go there.

Expert service and great communication. The owner takes time to explain things thoroughly and exhibits a very broad knowledge base. Very nice people to do business with and their pricing is very fair.
