Capital Tech Auto is the only mechanic I use and I have been going to them loyally for the past decade! Why? Because they are the BEST at what they do. I have never had any problems and have always left 100% satisfied. They are honest and I trust them. They get the job done well, quickly, and for a fair and reasonable price. If you are looking for a trust worthy and talented, mechanic look no further. I highly recommend them!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake repair

I loveee this shop! Derek and his team are the best and their prices was so reasonable. I had my shield pop off twice! Derek was able to see me same day and repair it within a few hrs. They're amazing !

My front end was was needing immediate maintenance. I stopped into their garage and was told it would be a 3-week wait, which is what I expected. Then he said he had a cancellation today and if I could leave it right now he'd work on it. I jumped all over that, and within a couple of hours they called to tell me the job was finished. The price was very reasonable and the car drives perfectly now. A good and honest mechanic is hard to find these days. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Bonus: they are directly across the street from the Palais Royale, a very cool bar to kill time in while your car is being fixed.

Long overdue review. Found these guys from google and checked out their reviews. 5 stars for a reason. Brought a 94 del sol in and had them do a ton of work to it. I brought most of my own parts. I paid for brand new pads and rotors and Derek told me the ones in the car were basically still new. What mechanic would NOT take your money? Very honest!!Highly recommended.My ONLY complaint as others mentioned would be calling and getting someone to pick up. Either leave a VM, or I recommend just driving to them and scheduling an appointment.Either way SOLID work and knowledgeable. Quick, painless, and cost efficient.Took my car here for the first time a couple days ago and had a great experience. I knew I needed to get my brakes done so I took it here because it s around the corner from my house. I called Wednesday night, they told me to bring it in Thursday morning and it was ready for pick up by 2 o clock. I told them that I m currently on a tight budget and they worked with me to make it affordable.

I mostly had good experience with this shop in the past. But last week I dropped my car there, I wanted to talk to them but they were too busy. They called me a week later saying my car is fixed. I went to the shop and it was $500. No phone call before this, didn't ask me if I am OK with the price. I feel really weird about this whole experience.Given the trust I still have in them, I left my car there for oil change and inspection. Then their service was good. I understand they are super busy, but would still appreciate it more if they can let me know what was wrong before fixing it like what they did before.

If there were 10 + stars to choose from to rate Capital Tech Auto Repairs, I would've chosen them all.We have had a pretty cold winter thus far and for the first time ever, my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am decided, "I'm not going to blow heat during this frigid season, instead, I will blow freezing air coupled with frozen crystals towards your way." : ( Let's just say, driving in this freezing weather without heat was one of the worst experiences I've had.My mission to find top auto repair shops in Albany began. In just seconds, Google showed me "Capital Tech Auto Repairs," and I was absolutely surprised at how close to my place of employment, this little hidden diamond of a shop was located.I read every review, which highly rated this auto shop and I became very hopeful.I have used other auto repair shops; however, from the moment Jaime answered the telephone, and as busy as they were (per the reviews) took time to talk with me and then said, "Bring the car in," I knew this wasn't just a "business."I'm sure there are many good mechanics out there, but it isn't just repairing your vehicle that is important, it is being honest, fair, and most importantly, treating customers with the respect we all deserve.Derek, the owner, wears a genuine smile constantly and goes above and beyond what is expected, which is what makes this little hidden gem, the best in their business there is.My Pontiac is repaired and once again, I am warm. The cost was absolutely fair. Maybe my loyal vehicle decided to become stubborn so that I would find this amazing auto repair shop, which I will use in the future and refer to many. Sometimes in life we need to realize that there are good and honest people in this tough business.Thank you loyal reviewers and of course every one at Capital Tech Auto Repairs!

These guys are the best. I took my car to Monroe Brake and Tire. After a $600 brake job my brake pedal was no longer working correctly. I fixed it temporarily, but the guys at Capital Tech auto figured out that it was a problem with the pedal / brake line. Were able to repair for only $266 Honest mechanics are hard to find, but I'm happy to have found these guys. I've always been happy with their work and they are extremely fast and professional.

The best garage in Albany, hands down! You may have to wait a week to get an appointment but that is most likely because they are always honest, reliable, skilled and do excellent work. You cant go wrong with these guys and I would recommend them to anyone.

This is the best shop I have ever been to. I moved to Albany six years ago and only recently bought a car. When the check engine light came on, I was really nervous about finding an auto mechanic. I'm glad I found Capitol Auto Repair. Derek listened to the problem I was having with the car and was able to clearly explain what was going on. I brought my car in in the morning, and had it back by the afternoon. Great service. Definitely a place you can trust. So glad that I found them!

This is a great place to bring your car! I have a Mercedes and this was less than half of what keeler told me it would cost to fix my car. Derek is the best - they are so helpful. They actually sit down and explain to you what is going on with you car and what are needs and what can wait. They think about safety first - These guys are honest & have amazing costumer service. I would recommend this place to everyone.

I had two cars serviced in this place for the past 5-6 years. They always done good work except for the last time I was there,Prior to taking my car there for inspection the remote to the car alarm was not working properly. I had to disarm the alarm manually with the alarm switch located under the dashboard by fuse box.The car failed inspection the last time I brought it there, but it wasn't in my budget to have it fixed at the time. I drove the car home and parked it in my driveway for two months. I finally had funds to get it fix but I needed to jump start the car to bring it back for repairs. While doing so the alarm activated, I tried to disarm the car with the alarm switch but the switch was not there. It was completely gone, someone had removed it and used electrical tape to cover the wires. Furthermore, I noticed couple of loose screws on the bottom portion of the dashboard which is an indication that it was removed and the lever to the hood was disconnected as well. I asked Derek if anyone there had done this to the car but he said no. That is hard to believe because Capital Tech Auto was the last place I took my car. I will never do business with this place anymore.

Quality work, great price, top notch mechanics. I highly recommend this garage for any vehicle repairs or modifications you may need. They installed a 6 lift kit on my f150 and it turned out amazing.

I walked to the location and found out that the wait would be over two and a half weeks before they could actually just look at it. I usually use this auto shop for all repairs and am happy with the price and the work but I couldn't wait two and a half weeks so I brought it to Harbecks Auto on Broadway. The car is running better than ever.

Excellent service and quality results. I have taken my car here twice. The first time they were able to fit me in urgently when something went wrong prior to a long trip.The second time, when something was wrong with my brakes, I took my car to a brake specialist garage. They tried to use scare tactics to upsell a bunch of things I did not need, but that sounded concerning. I m glad I held off and took my car to Capital Tech. They explained what was going on and made only the actually necessary repairs instead of trying to replace additional things to raise the cost.

AWESOME3rd time I went there for help and they've never let me down.As single female I always feel like im getting "ripped off ", not here! You may have to wait for an appointment, but well worth it. These mechanics are Professional, experienced. They KNOW what they're doing.

Derrick is hands down the nicest guy on the planet. He has taken a look at my car for free I don't know how many times. Whenever I have had work done, the pricing has always been super fair and on time. Especially as a woman, I have never felt like he would lie or take advantage of me. He really is the best.

I have been taking my cars to Derek - the owner - for more than 15 years. Derek is an excellent mechanic, always reasonably priced, courteous and accommodating. There is a reason I have hus phone number listed in my phone under "Derek the Good!"

My friend complained about how they charged $500 for things my friend did not ask to fix. I thought these guys were trust worthy. And still went there. However, they did the same thing to me now.These guys have horrible attitude, instead of apologizing for their mistake they say that its not much money worth discussing before changing parts. Well, they did same thing to my friend who paid $500+. And their another excuse is they are busy to let us know the problems. I wonder why are they not busy when charging us!?They told if I did not like how they work I should not visit them again. Of course I am not visiting them again. But that is not a way to talk to a customer.They are not worth your buck!

Derek and the guys in his shop are awesome and I ll only be bringing my car to them from now on. Dropped my car off for an inspection and it was done within 45 minutes. Quick, professional and reliable work!

Trustworthy and good mechanics. Only downside is they can be pretty busy and don't always answer calls. Sometimes best to just go in to make an appointment. Otherwise very nice and reputable.Would definitely recommend over any other spot in the area.

I don't typically rate places I do business with, but in this case I will make an exception. I saw one reviewer here who clearly doesn't know anything about cars who gave this shop a poor review. He couldn't be more wrong. To describe Capital Tech as anything but exemplary is to show you have no idea what you are talking about. This is the diamond in the rough mechanic you have been searching for. Derek is fast, reasonable, and most importantly, HONEST. He will tell you what is wrong with your car, and depending on the age and your willingness to invest in it, give you a menu of options to fix it,and work with you on price. I wouldn't take my car to anyone else, and neither should you.

When I asked basic questions about what their pre purchase car inspection would include, and what they would recommend, I was told they were "too busy to deal with this". Would never take my car there, especially if I was spending a lot of money on a repair and actually had questions about their services.

This place is probably fine for a oil change or something but definitely avoid if you have anything seriously wrong with your car. My vehicle was in a pretty bad accident and honestly i don't know a lot about cars but i knew something was wrong despite this place saying there wasn't. I'm not sure what the problem was really since i was covered 100% by insurance.In hindsight the only reason i trusted this place was because of these reviews in the end i had to take it to Armory Garage.

Derek is the best mechanic I have ever had. This place had the cheapest quote for the brakes that I needed for my car, and I checked 5 or 6 different places. Whole staff is friendly professional, and just downright AWESOME!

If you're looking for a garage in Albany, give Derek at Capital Tech a call. Nobody I've worked with in the past has been as straightforward, prompt, and genuinely customer-oriented as he has. Wholeheartedly recommend this business.

This is hands-down the best repair shop that I've been to. They have quality technicians and their prices are more than reasonable. I recommend this repair facility anybody who owns a car weather foreign, American, European doesn't matter they fix it all.
