Shelby's Auto Center is under new ownership and is now called Mechanic Mike's! Mike has over 15 years of experience and has been working out of Shelby's building since July of 2023. He looks forward to helping the customers he already has and is hoping previous customers from Shelby's will come back for future repairs.

Best service I ve ever received. Driving from Arizona to Tennessee and pop a tire. Chance took it upon himself to make sure I and everyone else was taken care of in a timely fashion and I m headed back to TN now. Get your service done here!!!!!

Me and my girlfriend got a flat tire going through the mountain heading into Albuquerque yesterday. We pulled into the gas station next to Shelby s and could not find the security lock for the tire so we were unable to put the spareon. Two of the guys working at Shelby s came over and told us to pull our car up into the shop to see if they could help. They were able to get the tire off and our spare put on within a couple of minutes. They even called around and found us a shop that had our tire in stock. We are super grateful for Shelby s!!!

Agreed on a 100,000 mile service for $360, discussed in full what was included the day before, coolant, air filters, plugs, distributer cap etc. The next day after the car was serviced I asked to go over what was done on the vehicle and was told "a tune up" I asked for clarification and was told an oil change and spark plugs... I am beyond baffled... I told them I that was not the agreement and I would not pay $360. They quickly agreed and brought the price down to a reasonable amount which I appreciate, however I now need to take the vehicle elsewhere now to have it properly serviced. Not sure if honest mistake but I obviously won't be coming back.Edit. Changing my review from 2 stars to 1 after my battery died 2 weeks after the service. I was told some advanced diagnostics were performed on my car, obviously my battery wasn't even checked so that was a lie too.

My mom and I were on our way across country on my way to college and I had the D light flashing and we pulled over not realizing we were ouraide Shelby's. We were checking the transmission and one of their guys came out and asked if we were alright and had us pull the car up to the garage. They ran a code test checked everything out and filled the transmission. Then sent us on our way free of charge when they had no business, with tips on where to stop on our way if we needed to stop again. Both of the guys we worked with were very kind and helpful!

Life Savers. Working in the east mountains makes trips a bit longer than in a city, so when my car started overheating I panicked. Pulled over and found the nearest garage. Shelby s Auto Center was the nearest place so I basically crawled there. They are an amazing group of people. The office is comfortable and catches the eye, woman up front was very courteous, and the mechanics knowledgeable. An hour later I had a new thermostat and was on my way. A wonderful experience and I will be returning. Thank you Shelby s.

Shelby always takes the best care of my family. We trust him with all of our auto needs. We have come to him with 3 of our vehicles multiple times. Once he even diagnosed and fixed my wife's windshield fluid pump problem and didn't have us pay a dime. He is a vet and he supports his fellow vets. Keep up the great work, Shelby.

This place was amazing. I pulled in not know what was wrong with my jeep. He immediately came out and looked at it and helped me. Amazing top notch customer service. I would advise anyone to bring their auto here to get repairs.

I took my truck in to get a new engine put in my suburban. After I left I took back my suburban for two years trying to get Shelbys auto motive to repair a leaky oil. After being charged for two years fixing and repairing things over and over again on a motor that they replace. I found out that they had broke parts in my engine and wouldn t fix it or replace them. Then they said I needed a new motor because the motor they put in they did not put it in right and it caused the motor to go bad. The engine that they had put in it was still under warranty and they refused to uphold the warranty on the engine and charged me more money to put in a replacement motor. So they ruined the new engine that got put in my truck and now they had to put in a new one and they charged me. So after they replace the engine again the second time. I had more oil leaks and water leaks. Also the motor mounts were bolted down right and they were loose. Also the exhaust was it even bolted to the motor or the manifold in the exhaust come together. The bolts were still loose. Not to mention that the water pump bolts were loose in the oil pan bolts were still loose. This company is very unprofessional and I would advise anybody who wants to think about doing business with them to stay away at all costs. Go somewhere else for Shelby s auto motive is very unprofessional and they don t know what they re doing when it comes to you Putting in an engine. Also they had stolen a grinder craftsman grinder from the back of my truck and some other tools are missing. This is the worst mechanic shop that I ve ever been to in my life. One star is too good of a review for this company. They will rip you off anyway they can. The biggest mistake of my life was trusting Shelby. Stay away I want you. They can t keep workers and they keep going through young mechanics after your mechanics. This place is very bad and they will only cost you more money in the long run. His shop did an overhaul on my car's front end. Mounts, brakes etc. Supposedly fixed what was needed. My daughter drove the car off the lot, got to Cedarcrest and the front wheel came off. Luckily she was by another station and they took her in and (for a fee) put it back on and tightened the other wheel up. Both were only barely put on. My daughter left took it home and drove it for a week. Finally she brought it back to me with the complaint it "felt funny." I looked and found that NOTHING had been tightened and the car was totally unsafe to drive! I tightened all up and drove it to get aligned. So much damage was done by the weeks driving that it cost me another $1200 to repair. And yes, the mechanics that did fix it stated that the bent parts were a result of Shelby crappy service. After this I went back and talked to Shelby. I spent about $1400 on the initial repair and he reimbursed me $400 saying that if I wanted more the I would have to sue. To quote Shelby, "I've been sued before and based on my experience this is all you will get." I took the money but and got out of his "shop". He told several lies during the repair such as when my daughter picked the car up Shelby stated he personally "drove the car and everything is fine (but didn't detect the lose wheels? Some mechanic.)." "We didn't do it" was his claim when I first confronted him...that is until I produced the sales receipt proving they did it!)" If you have junk, take to Shelby's. Junk in, junk out. Now if this were the only bad experience my family has had with Shelby I could write it off. But it isn't. So my advise is to drive down to Tom Quirk's in Albuquerque and have you car serviced. Shelby's is a bullying (my son-in-laws assessment), dishonest, lousy mechanic. Avoid at all costs because you life is at stake!

Can t thank Shelby s Auto Center enough. We had a major repair, 1,400 miles from home during a snow storm. They stepped up got the part from Denver, pulled the parts delivery truck out of the snow, made the repair and got us out ahead of the next wave of storms. Incredibly fair price.

I was very disappointed after sending many customers there for I had heard good things. I took an 1969 ford pickup there to get the intake changed. Old 390 engine. simple as it gets. After two attempts the kids working on it still did not get the rear gasket straight. Poured oil out every time I went up hill. My engine was quiet when I took it there. When I picked it up all the lifters were rattling. After taking it apart which I did not want to do thus why I paid a shop to do it the lifter galley was full of old gasket scrapings. I now was faced with replacing all the lifters. The oil pressure was horrible when I picked it up to find the regulating valve in the pump held open by gasket debris. Thus low oil pressure. <y repair was quoted 400 and change for the job. While they had it I ask to install a seal in the power steering gearbox. before checking on parts they took it apart to find out no seals available. To get my truck off his lift cost me an extra 1000.00 to find a new gearbox and have it shipped next day air. I did not fuss. I was angry so smiled about everything. My say 500.00 worth of work turned into 1800.00 before I got the truck home with the engine screwed up. 30 days later 3500.00 for a new engine. truck ran fine before i took it to Shelby's. I just wanted a better intake and carb for better mpg. Live and learn. I have 40 years of mechanical exp just am old and worn out thus I paid to have it done thinking Shelby would do the work. The kids cost me allot of money and aggravation. you have to pick a star to post other wise I would not have.

Took our jeep here while traveling in the area. We were having A/C issues and the Blend Door was broken. They quoted us a price and said they needed all day to fix it because the whole dash had to be removed. We left the vehicle with them to repair. We got a call a few hours later saying it was going to be an additional $150 because they needed an additional part. We said ok since we didn't have another option at this point.We got the keep back the next morning....with a broken windshield! They said they didn't do it, it must have been that way when we brought it in. Just coincidental that they had the dash out and were replacing parts, but they didn't break he windshield?They arranged to have the windshield replaced at their cost, but the other issues they supposedly fixed are still not working! And the bill was about $300 more than what they quoted!Owner says he has a two year warranty on all parts and labor, though nothing is in writing. We will try to find someone else to fix it right and see how his warranty pans out. At this point we don't hold out much hope.I would definitely not recommend this place.

The "Mike Holmes" of mechanics: Shelby is the kind of mechanic everyone dreams of finding. He's honest, fast and knows his stuff. He saved us over $2,000 by finding the one part he needed rather than buying a "kit" from the dealer. We live in Albuquerque but any time we need car work done we drive out to Tijeras for Shelby's!

Honesty and integrity is what you want from you mechanic. I took my car in for an oil change and to have my check engine light looked into. Shelby did the oil change and checked a sensor that was causing the check engine light to come on. They cleaned the sensor and tested it. Only charged me for the oil change. Now that honesty and integrity.

Honest establishment with friendly customer service and knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond to provide total satisfaction at a fair price. We are grateful for Shelby's Auto for helping us out when it was needed and a special thanks to "T".

As a 18 year old girl going to a auto shop full of men is scary just for the fact that they talk to you like you don't know anything. Growing up around cars then going to a autoshop getting talked to like I don't know anything is pretty offensive. But here at Shelbys auto center I walked in and was shocked a women was at the desk and the Mechanics didn't treat me any differently it was such a good feeling only place i'll ever bring my car whole family loves them as well. they do an amazing job great with customers absolutely love them!

I went to this place for a door and battery problem. They kept it for a week without notifying me it was supposed to be completed. When I went to pick my vehicle up, I paid and went to my car. The battery was dead. They jump started me, and went on my merry way. I told this certified mechanic that I was going a short distant, and he said my battery would charge by then. Then he proceeded to tell me the he hasn't been there because he was working on something in town. There are very young people there to work on cars. Shouldn't a certified person check the vehicle before leaving their establishment?then the CERTIFIED MECHANIC stated I threatened him, with my lawyerI explained I was going to show my lawyer my paper work. Not a good place to get you car repaired.Without listening to a CUSTOMER, he started telling me it was my fault the battery was dead. Wow, what a let down. Should have known when he put a wire to my battery in my other car for my ac to work. Which it didn't.AN

Mr Shelby is an awesome mechanic. his years of experience shows in his work. Their is nothing that he cant figure out. 90% of the problems I had with my 2006 roush he found out just by the sound. then just he looked up the problems with his code scanners and it showed he was right. The best thing about this man is not the fact that he knows so much about cars... But the fact that he is willing to work out payments with you, with out getting involved with the credit burrow. Im a retired vet in the wounded warrior project. He also makes donations to the wwp. this man is one of the few people that still shows the American values that have been long lost. He does not beleave in your credit is too bad, give me cash now. He has a small shop but I only wish that he was in charge of all the repair shops in New Mexico. Best part is that he will never over charge you, and he will always do what your ask. If your car will not start. he will get it running. But he will let you know of things that you might want to replace in the future...
