After happening to see this place suggested by Google while passing through town to get gas, my wife and I were glad we made the stop. An awesome collection of cars and vintage items from the time. They also have a gift shop with all sorts of apparel and knock knacks with route 66 logos on them. Very cheap at $5 a person to walk back and see all the very well preserved and rare vehicles. The only thing that would make this place better is a museum portion that talked about the history and culture of route 66.

Nice quick stop, just off of 40. They have a good selection of cars, and the place is not crowded, so you can take your time. Plus a ton of memorabilia along the walls.Best car museum ever? - no. But, it is only 5 bucks - well worth the stop!

What a great museum. It has so much memorabilia to look at and lots of classic cars. There's something for everyone. Only $5 admission which is totally worth it.

Route 66 Auto Museum-Santa Rosa, NM-This is the best quality auto museum on the route. They have Museum quality autos, motorcycles, and memorabilia. They have a wide variety of Stuff, everything you can imagine. An Edsel with a front bucket scoop. If you can think of something more different than that . They were very nice people too, price was decent, and self guided walk through. I know we met some cool Canadians swapped picture taking with them. I highly recommend this route66 stop.My Rating: 8.1.#rendellsreviews #shoproute66 #shoplocal #eatroute66 #eatrt66 #eatlocal #bestonroute66 #santarosa #santarosanm #rt66atractions #staylocal #stayroute66 #route66attraction #rt66automuseum #localattractions #carsontheroute #localmuseums #localcars #route66roadtrip #historicroute66

I really liked this museum. The staff were friendly and just let you browse at your leisure. The amenities were clean and tidy as well and they had a great gift shop. The cars on display were pretty awesome with some fine restorations of hot rods, muscle, pick up utilities and more modern muscle and even an immaculate Ford Bronco.

It was closed when I got there but looks like a pretty nice museum from the outside and got to see Tow Mater!

A fantastic place along the original Route 66! This is surely one of the best car museums that you can find on the Mother Road. The place is packed with iconic cars, memorabilia and motor history, spanning the whole twentieth century. Entry ticket is only 5$ and absolutely worth it!I highly recommend stopping here and enjoy a 1-hour visit in this special place. There is also a shop where you can buy souvenirs, clothing and so much more at very affordable prices.Great work by the team running "Route 66 Auto Museum", well done in preserving this place!

My husband is a huge fan of classic trucks and since we stayed the night in Santa Rosa on our way home, we decided to stop here on our way out of town. We arrived here right a 7:30 am on New Year s Eve and they were open. The man said that they restore and do all the work to the vehicles themselves. It was really awesome to see. They definitely sell nostalgia here because the classic cars and vintage items were great to see. I highly recommend stopping here. They are putting in a diner soon and I can t wait to stop by some other time. The restrooms were the cleanest and they even had cute soaps, sprays and lotions on the counters. Admission for our 2 year old was free and they had the cutest gift shop and we were able to find some great souvenirs.

Awesome quick stop to see some well restored hot rods. Son and I are taking a road trip across the country and were looking for some cool stops along the way. This place made the list and didn't disappoint. It was only $5 per person, and we really enjoyed every minute. Come by, check out not only cars but some memorabilia from the historic Rt. 66 and support the local community.

Neat little place. A good stop if anything just to stretch the legs, but there are some vehicles in this museum that are pretty insane! I think they said they've been at this now for about 24 years. $5 per person, no price break for kids. Lots of Route 66 trinkets for you to buy as well. There is an old wrecker type of vehicle in the parking lot below the yellow car sign that looks like Mater from Cars, so of course we had to get the obligatory family picture there . Not sure how frequently they rotate the cars through that place, although there is a small fortune of vehicles in that place, most of which are for sale anywhere from $20,000 to $150,000, so bring your checkbook! If money was no object I would have purchased the green Buick in a heartbeat. The centennial of route 66 is coming up, and I know this place is probably gearing up for that.
