My truck broke down while camping in the Pecos and my tow truck driver recommended I go to Rafa s for repairs. Very concerned that I d be laid up multiple days at a hotel while parts were ordered and repairs made, Rafa had my truck repaired (affordably!) in less than 24 hours. A feat I was unsure was possible considering I dropped off in the afternoon and they were very busy. Can not recommend them enough. 10/10 would go to them the next time I m broken down 1000 s of miles from home.

Short version: Rafa's work makes the drive to Santa Fe worth the time and distance. Recently moved to Albuquerque with an aging car I don't want to give up. Rafa's skills as a licensed mechanic, his professionalism, integrity, and attention to details are what makes his work excellent and above average. Given that no one is perfect, nonetheless Rafa makes car maintenance a painless experience. After leaving, I can trust there won't be the same unresolved issues as with previous mechanics. Big bonus: Rafa's labor charges are quite reasonable, so I tip him when I can. It's important to let good mechanics know they are genuinely appreciated, yes?Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement

Could not be more thankful for finding Rafa. He checked out our old, high mileage Subaru and gave us great advice and charged us an extremely reasonable price to top up all our fluids and change our oil. Met two other people that were waiting for service that also sang his praises and were regular customers. Strongly recommend!

This mechanic gave me a realistic analysis which coincided with what other mechanics had said, but i haven't worked with him before so that tells me a lot about his level of honesty and integrity. i would recommend.

One of the most amazing honest places I have ever experience. Being a female is never easy to find someone who you can feel sure that you are not going to get filled with unfair pricing and respect. He and his associates are welcoming and straight to the point best of all honest and professional. My truck had a fractured exhaust manifold. It was rusted. I began the work myself and quickly realized I was in over my capabilities and resources. After researching local mechanics, I found Rafa's. Contacted Rafael and explained my situation. He is kind, courteous and indicated he could do the work. He gave me a reasonable quote. We set the appointment for the next morning. He finished within a few hours and was exactly on quote. The work wasn't easy. He did an amazing job! In addition, I now have an honest, professional, and reliable automotive repair service locally.I highly recommend Rafa's Auto Repair!

Only reason I hate sharing the experience is to keep this place to myself. Rafa is awesome turnaround time? also awesome. Price? Well, honestly I can t recall the last time a SF mechanic final bill was even proximity to the estimate. Anymore I just expect a 30% or higher invoice. Not Rafa, he gave a price and stuck to it (actually thought I had been roofied lol). His rates are honest, bill is actual, not grossly inflated. Rafa is now the go-to for all my vehicles. Couldn t be more impressed or satisfied. Love these guys!

I had an excellent experience at Rafa's Auto Repair. I took my vehicle in today for standard maintenance, underbody inspection and tire rotation. Extremely happy with the professionalism, service and integrity. Great service! The guys were very respectful! I got my brakes, filters and oil change. Best prices around compared to other places. When I went to discount tire to get my tires balance and rotated they stated my rotors are bad and needed to go somewhere down airport road to get them fix so I called Rafael he said they are good! I recommend this shop they are honest!!

Friendly, highly skilled, honest, reasonable and quality service! Rafa's Auto Repair has been great no matter the issue with my vehicle! My most recent visit was for an ABS light on the dashboard. With their expertise and electronic tools, the problem area was quickly identified! I highly recommend Rafa's Auto Repair!

There is a reason this mechanic has the best reviews! Rafael was honest with my partner about their Acura TL and it s problems, which were different from what another mechanic told us. Knowing we didn t know him at all, he offered to let us take it to the dealership to confirm that was the problem. He also called us and kept us updated every step of the way and drove to ABQ to get a part for us. We found our mechanic!Service: Transmission

You can t spell rad without Rafa! Was passing through town and needed to get my front wheel hubs/bearings assembly replaced (badly). I already had the parts and just needed a competent mechanic to do the work, ideally quickly and affordably. Rafa checked off each with aplomb! Was able to see me within a day of calling ahead, and got the job done within a couple hours of dropping it off at the appointment time (which is about what it should take with the right tools/knowledge/etc). Charged me an average hourly rate, and the new (OEM) parts have been working flawlessly for thousands of miles since.A lot of shops will want to charge you a diagnostic fee, regardless of whether you already know what s wrong, and just need that issue fixed, which is always pretty sketchy, cuz then a lot of the time they ll wanna give you a big list of stuff to do on the car (whether it actually needs it or not), and you end up either spending a lot more than you budgeted for, or you decline the repair and are SOL on the fee they charged.Rafa instead just sticks to the matter at hand, gets the work done, and done well, and charges a fair price, with no tricks or games. Wish I had him in my hometown!

We bring all 4 of our vehicles to Rafa. He's done everything from simply replacing shocks to a complete engine install. Always professional, friendly, honest and the work is excellent. We won't go anywhere else.

Had the best experience. New to Santa F New Mexico originally from Santa Cruz CA Rafa made me feel as if I was home took care of my RV 86 toyota radiator was leaking. Replaced right there on spot was a magician with his team would recommend anyone that is supspect on on auto repair in santa fe to call Rafa's Auto.

Took my 2007 F150 in for repairs he was quick and solved the problem that nobody else could figure out. Other we're telling me that I might need a motor, but Rafa checked it out he took care of the problem 600.00 instead of 5000.00 for engine. I will recommend Rafa automotive to everyone.

While visiting Santa Fe recently my Jeep overheated. A nearby parts store, where I stopped for radiator fluid, recommended Rafa's shop. I stopped in and he dropped what he was doing, tested my car and had me out in about 30 minutes. Great job... Thanks!

Hands down the best car repair shop ive ever been too.. felt he didn't take advantage of the fact I was a female.. good price and have never had any issues with any of the work these guys have done for me. Very happy and would truly recommended to anyone!!!

This is the only place my daughter or I take our vehicles . Rafael is a great and honest mechanic and gets our vehicles done correctly . I recommend Rafas auto repair if you want your vehicle done right and done in a fair amount of time and a honest price .

Reliable, honest, and friendly mechanic, I would send anyone I know to him. It's very hard to find someone like this in santa fe. Five stars is almost too little of a rating.
