The best mechanic in Santa Fe! I trust his advice completely. My 2006 Volvo XC70 runs perfectly. He always lets me know what is necessary or not and has often found prices on parts that are better than anything I could do on my own.

Kurt took the time to get right to the problem, fix it and explain it thoroughly. I m on a cross country trip in my 2006 Volvo V70, so he also took time to explain some codes that had popped up and do an overall check for lights, oil, etc. I m back on the road...with confidence that s worth everything! Kurt is the most honest, trustworthy, quality mechanic I have found since moving to Santa Fe 12 years ago. He is so easy to work with. He is fair, has great communication and is efficient with his work! Getting it in and finished when he says and in the time frame estimated. We've been using Kurt (when he was at Volvo dealership) as our trusty mechanic since before he purchased Bob's Imported Auto after some really challenging auto repair situations with another shop in town and have always been impressed with his quality work and honesty.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Auto battery replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto A/C recharge, Electrical, Air conditioning, Oil change

Kurt, the owner of Bob's Import Auto is fully trustworthy and has an expert level of knowledge regarding modern import automotive mechanics. He is the best Volvo mechanic within hundreds of miles of Santa Fe, hands down. I've owned 8 Volvos in my life of 70 years, 5 in Santa. I remember Kurt from the days when he worked at Santa Fe Mazda Volvo. There is no shop between Taos and Albuquerque that can compare.

If you're looking for an expert on vintage Volvo's in New Mexico, look no further. After reading many other positive reviews, I decided to take my 1800S here for major transmission, brake, and suspension repairs, and I'm sure glad I did. The owner, Kurt, is friendly, honest, and has a true wealth of knowledge in classic Volvo's. Throughout the repair process, I was informed with multiple clear, detailed quotes for work being performed, some of which were significant issues that other shops in the past failed to diagnose. Kurt was upfront about possible issues to keep an eye on for future repairs, and was proactive in making sure the car was safe to drive. The end price and timeline for getting the repairs completed were both very reasonable.After recently getting the car back, it drives better than it ever has: brakes are reliable and solid in use rather than a white-knuckle experience, the previously floating (literally) suspension is now buttoned down, and the transmission is no longer a leaky mess.I don't trust just anyone with working on my 1800S, but after the incredibly positive experience here, I won't be taking mine anywhere else. Kurt is a gem. Truly one of those people who is a benefit to the local community.If you own a Volvo, especially an older model, Kurt is your guy.He is invaluable in his knowledge, commitment to quality, and competence with any work your car may require.I took my classic Volvo to him on two occasions, and he went beyond the boundaries of what was originally specified for the work needed. Just moved back here and desperately needed a Volvo Specialist. Found Bob s Volvo Specialist KURT by reading others reviews on this site. Woke up to find oil on my driveway and me needing to drive out of town. Even though Kurt was booked he had me drop it off. He called me 2 hours later told me what it was he could order the parts and get me back on the road by close of business. He told me to the penny how much it would be. Kurt is awesome and i know both of my Volvos are going to be in excellent hands!!!Service: Engine repair

Kurt master tech on Volvo s took over from the previous owner. Today was my first contact with him so far it has been great meeting him and hand over our Volvo after all the abuse we have been victim especially from the dealership in town. It seems finally that we have a great service guy! Kurt seems to be very honest. Pay him a we dropped our car today and it was a very reasonable maintenance fee.Thanks again Kurt

Terrific experience with Kurt. Kurt now owns Bob s Imported.Kurt is a highly skilled technician with deep knowledge and extensive experience repairing and maintaining Volvo automobiles. Kurt explained clearly what needed to be fixed and why and what did not need to be replaced (yet) on our 2009 XC-70. Prices were reasonable and work was completed on-time, without surprises, and to our complete satisfaction.Kurt is now maintaining our 2009 XC-70 and 2018 V60. He also works on other euro and Japanese brands.We Volvo owners are very fortunate to have Kurt here in Santa Fe. Highly recommended.

Bob's Imported Auto Repair is first class in all categories! I was on the road traveling to my Son's wedding when my Volvo started to have shifting problems - by chance I called Kurt at Bob's and he got me in right away, fixed the problem the same day and charged exactly what he estimated, which was very reasonable! Kurt was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. If I lived closer I would certainly take ALL my business to Bob's.Service: Transmission

Kurt Wegner at Bob's Imported Auto is terrific. I bought a 2005 XC70 after he gave it a thorough pre-purchase assessment. He clearly and patiently explained what the car would need by way of repairs and maintenance along with a time table for when I might wish to address them. So I made that Volvo mine and I knew I had my machanic too. I took my car in to him a week or so later to knockout the punch list he made for me, to get my ride running tip top. I feel so confident and safe with hiswork; there are times when you just know you've met an expert in their field. If you're like me, and you admire craftsmanship and integrity then you will be pleased. Seriously, you ought to buy a Volvo just so Kurt can be your machanic too.

A legitimate and highly qualified Volvo and import shop. Since Santa fe lost its Volvo dealership I imagine Bob's Imports will be a fast favorite for many of the displaced customers. A simple no nonsense waiting room and a single bay with a lift, but they schedule efficiently and seem to keep cars moving through at a steady pace. I recommend Bob's Imports for all your Volvo needs.

I got "Check Engine" light while I was traveling to Santa Fe area. I went to this place early morning without any appointment. The owner was very friendly and willing to give me some time to check my problem even though his schedule was fully booked on the day. He checked it and let me know it was a minor problem so I do not worry about it during my travel. He even did it with no charge! Without him, I could have been in trouble and very stressed by that mysterious "Check Engine" light. I strongly recommend him and his place.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Bob, who did great work for all of us for many years invited Kurt to take over, that is a high enough recommendation for me. Kurt is helpful, smart, experienced, honest and not going to fix anything that is not broken. I am grateful.

We had a misunderstanding. I thought I was bringing my car in so he could identify a problem and give me an estimate. Instead, he worked on my car and charged me and wanted cash immediately. I was not prepared to pay and he was angry and really rude.His prices seem very reasonable, but be clear about what your appointment involves.
