ABET Automotive is an excellent automotive repair shop. Lou makes every effort to schedule jobs that can be completed that day. He is courteous, professional and will ask questions to fully understand your goals. He will explain the plan to complete the task. He also keeps you informed if anything changes during the process. Read this review to the end and see why this auto shop will be the only one that our family will go to for our automotive needs.I took my RAM 1500 into ABET Auto to get an upgraded exhaust manifold kit put on that I ordered from- (ThoroughBred Diesel- Don t purchase anything from them, they don t try to make things right on getting you a refund or the right parts even when they are in the wrong.)I upgraded because of the typical HEMI OEM broken manifold bolts concerns/issues. Mind you, I did my homework on this manifold kit before ordering it, and everything checked out perfectly from every angle.The ABET team assembled the driver side which fit spot on, then Lou and Adolfo started putting the passenger side manifold on, and came across an issue. The part was not the correct one. Lou crossed referenced the information and saw that there was a manufacturing error on this part, but wanted to be sure that it wasn t just the kit that I brought him to install, so he called the local part store to deliver the passenger side exhaust manifold that my truck called for as the replacement. Surprise! It didn t fit either. It was identical to the upgraded one I ordered. Lou then did more research online and over the phone with numerous part dealers, and they too were stumped by this issue. Lou spoke with the Dodge dealership parts department to inquire if they had my part on hand and to see if it was the correct design. The parts guy didn t sound confident in saying that this was the right part even though Lou described to the parts guy what to look for on this piece. Instead of wasting any more time, Lou told the parts clerk to keep it handy because he was on his way to see if it was the right one for himself.Finally, it was the correct part and it was installed.The reasons why our family will only use ABET Auto is because; This team went above and beyond to see that their quality of work, the explanation of the work being done, and customer service skills were on point, and genuine. Lou and Adolfo explained that there was another issue with my truck that they recognized once they got it in the bay. I was determined to not hear them out, and was just focused on the main reason I was there for. I appreciated the fact that they brought to my attention a genuine concern and validated my right to refuse their recognition of another potential issue without them being pushy to up sale me something. BTW.. I will be taking my truck back for this repair because of it s importance to keeping me on the road.It is extremely rare to find a mechanic who truly has morals and values about doing the right thing to help the customer get back on the road. It is also rare to see a mechanic do extensive research on a part to the extreme of the mechanic stopping what he is doing to go to the dealership in person to confirm that a certain part is actually the right one after getting mixed information from local part stores and other suppliers.Aside from the issues with my truck, Lou answered questions pertaining to our other vehicles and explained the exact possible causes, solutions and if they should be categorized as a priority versus if it is a minor problem.Lastly, Lou and Adolfo did everything in their power and succeeded to get me back on the road before the Winter storm started back up again, because I had a two hour drive home, and that meant me traveling directly through the storm. Bottom line is that I was impressed with the knowledge and experience by this company s employees and therefore give them 5 STARS!!

I have gone to this shop for many years although very expensive. The last time the owner told me to have it towed there that evening. The next day he had his wife claim that the new wheels had been stolen by someone on a bicycle, and I was harassed to remove my vehicle I will tell all about this underhanded scam. I will never do business with you again Lou. Your Karma will come back to you.Service: Steering & suspension repair

What a god send Lou is at ABET. He is honest, very capable and knows how to get stuff fixed. He has both vehicle repair abilities but also fabrication skills. We had a broken bracket on our rooftop tent and he was able to repair it and fabricate a piece that was broken. He got us back on the road in one day. Can t say enough about this place.

I ran into some car troubles with my 2011 Mazda3 while on a road trip and I was told to visit Lou at Abet Auto. Not only did he go above and beyond to find the right part to get my car fixed, but he was able to help get me back on the road in less than 4 hours. Truly grateful and would highly recommend this shop to anybody.

Best place in Santa Fe for quality affordable service/repair of your exhaust system (quiet too). Lou has been servicing exhaust on my old truck for 15 years. My only regret is I didn't do the most recent repair sooner. Better gas mileage and the neighbors don't complain anymore when I fire up the truck. Thank you Lou! You are the best.

I showed up at Lou and Liz's shop after a short search thru Google. I had a custom/aftermarket exhaust for a vintage British car that fit very poorly. Lou gave it a look and took it into his shop - after about five minutes on his hydraulic pipe expander, everything fit perfectly. On top of this fast, professional service, Lou refused to charge me!Service: Exhaust

Extremely nice people. I highly recommend them! They were able to squeeze me in at the end of the day when all of the other mechanics in town were booked for a couple days. They were very professional and kind. They ran two scans to try to figure out what was wrong with my car and came up blank. Then we talked and sorted out what was actually happening with my car. They ended up not charging me for anything. Again, I highly recommend going here.

I have taken my 03 Hummer H2 to Lou several times for various things from a complete custom exhaust system, minor repairs, to a major insurance claim. He simply does outstanding work. I highly recommend him.

Was very reliable before, but also expensive. Lou told me to take my son's vehicle, only to have his wife Tereasa call me the next day to claim my wheels had been stolen. He then lied about the engine being "seized" and rudely told me that I had a week to remove it. I will never do business with you again Lou, and will tell all of Santa Fe.

The customer service at this shop was great. I called a lot of other shops asking them do my muffler delete on my Camaro and all of them were rude and over priced. Once I called ABET Automotive they gave my a fair price that could not be beaten along with a job well done!!

Before I went to ABET Auto, I went to a local muffler shop to install my catback exhaust system and needless to say, the other muffler shop was unprofessional. So I called ABET and told them my needs. I took my car in the very next day and by the time I left work, my car was finished. Lou is very professional and answered all of my questions. My catback exhaust looks (and sounds) great. Their work is top notch.

While traveling through Santa Fe with my son our car lost all of its coolant. Lou was able to squeeze us in even though he had a full lot. Lou was very professional and even took me into the shop to show me the problem. He had us back on the road in no time and we made it home safely. If I lived in Santa Fe, then ABET would be the shop I would take all my vehicles to. Thanks Lou!

Only place to Bring your Classic. They are why my '62 ford could go to California and back. The cost of the oil change was $74. including tax. Twice what I have paid for this service. Beware of the service charge and get prices before you go to Lou Abet.
