One of the few mechanics I trust with my vehicles. Always prompt and on time. Never done me wrong and provides incredible service at an incredible rate. Most recently changed the alternator in my jetta( a royal pain) in just a few hours. Even stayed in the rain to help recharge the battery and make sure everything was operating as it should. All of this was done on sight of the breakdown. These people are the greatest. Thank you ape!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

So very glad that we were referred to Ape and his shop! My granddaughter and I were in town on the weekend visiting and had car issues. They were able to diagnose correctly, took the time to explain everything so I would understand, ran to the store to get what was needed, and got my car fixed and back on the road before 8:00pm!!! Thank goodness we found them! So grateful they were professional, caring and took great care of us!! Thank you!Service: Battery

Best mechanic I have ever worked with. Both Ape and his wife Amanda are caring and competent people. Not only did I have full confidence that my car would be in great hands, but they were amazing about keeping me updated. They went out of their way to provide amazing service and they deserve nothing but the absolute best in life.

My daughter broke down 8 hours away from home. I called various mechanics, but Ape went out of his way to help my family when I couldn't be there. Not only did he provide amazing knowledge about the situation at hand, but opened on a day he was normally closed, drove my daughter and son-in-law to a hotel, and picked up a part that did not arrive in a timely fashion. Shop does look sketchy, but I would trust him with any vehicle and any problem . 10/5 Stars!

Amazing Mechanic, we were broken down on our way back home and Crazy Ape was 1 of 2 mechanics open on Sundays. He quoted me $200 less than the other guy. Had the car towed to him, and it didn't take him long to figure out what the issue was, he checked everything else before determining it was the alternator. I took this same car to Pep Boys 2 days ago and they told me I had 0 issues. Crazy Ape was able to find all the issues I had immediately and recommended some more repairs when I got home. 10/10 Service, his team was fast and dedicated to getting me back on the road. If I ever stop through Ruidoso again I'll definitely pay him a visit.Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I had high hopes for ape. I took in my truck for a head gasket replacement. I know that is a very tough repair and long process. Not only did he not fail to repair the problem, he left my engine with a misfire. Truck was left with an engine light, and broken my oil filter housing. ape also broken my radiator cap. A head gasket job is a very qualified task to do, and he is not well qualified to fulfill that task. He also as if I kept give him extra money for the troubles and time it took. $2000 down the drain and took it a shop in capitan and fixed it less than a week and running strong as ever. While mine set at his for 3 weeks. Had to get a new radiator, new serpentine belt which I did not need. Highly don t recommend the guy, unless you need a basic repair done, and even then I wouldn t trust.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Has done a great job on my fleet of Hondas Small or large jobs. Very reasonable pricing and all work and diagnostics and recommendations have been legit. Crazy Ape is an honest, reliable mechanic. Our truck brakes gave out on our way to a wrestling tournament. Crazy Ape came to our rescue and made a Sunday on sight brake repair. They started working on our truck around 5PM and stayed working on it till 1AM just to make sure that our family got home safely the next day. Thank you Crazy Ape!

We were not only stuck at Walmart with a car that wouldnt start, we were in Alamogordo (45 min away from home). I called Crazy Apes Auto and they went above and BEYOND in helping us get our car fixed. They had all the equipment to diagnose the problem with my car, diagnosed it, FIXED IT (Put a starter in my car)..all while in that Walmart parking lot. My car IS NOT an easy one (BMW) and I was blown away by the knowledge and honesty that IS Crazy Apes Auto!!! Highly recomended! Gave my moms car back unfixed, he kept saying the car was rare, can t find parts for this car anymore charged $1400 for an unfixed vehicle. Started threatening us because the car took up too much space and time and kept him from doing other jobs . Took the car to Ralph s Quality Auto Repair and the unfixable vehicle was fixed within 2 weeks. Crazy ape mechanics are not qualified and don t know what they are doing. Horrible experience. I had faith in this mechanic but he was a huge let down.Service: Transmission
