We visited Slow Play RV Park on our spring break RV trip through New Mexico and SW Texas. Its a great stopover between Carlsbad National Park and the White Sands. The facility is clean with a great layout. It also has a nice shared bathroom, game room and showers. The managers Ron and Brandi were phenomenal. They brought us to our site, helped us get situated and even check-in with us throughout the trip. The park is also WIFI powered and everyone was respectful of the quiet hours. This was a last minute booking for us. We visited a number of RV sites in the area. Slow Play RV Park was clearly the cleanest, great location, friendly staff and safe. We highly recommend!Nearby activities: In the Lincoln National Forest, between Carlsbad and White SandsSafety: Very safe, good lightingNoteworthy details: Great office and gift shop for the essentials. Easy hook-ups, electric, water and sewer on our site!

We were driving through 60mph wind gusts and needed a place to stay until wind died down. We found Slow Play on Google search. This campground was great!! Cassidy gave us a special and much appreciated rate for a last minute spot, right next to the bathhouse. This was very much appreciated!! We were only there for a good night's rest and we got it. Mr. Joe was very helpful, friendly, and shared info about the area and some good places to enjoy dinner. The campsite was very nice, the bathrooms and showers are in good shape and clean. The dog walk is wonderful! The entire campground seemed to be in great shape. We will definitely remember this campground for future use and recommend it if you're out their way

This is a great park and I want to say upfront that we called at the last minute for a reservation for the All American Futurity. Our site was small for a Motorhome but everyone was friendly and it is a good place to stay but don t wait to the last moment if you have a large RV. Dog park was not enclosed and would be helpful for dogs to move around.

I have had the pleasure of staying at Slow Play RV Park multiple times, and it has consistently been an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I am always so impressed by the cleanliness and well-maintained nature of the park. The staff are welcoming and helpful, ensuring that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The amenities provided at Slow Play RV Park are outstanding. The park offers spacious and level RV sites with full hook-ups, making it convenient for guests. The park grounds are beautifully landscaped, with large spaces and picnic tables. Additionally, the park has the most clean and modern restroom facilities I ve come across and also a well-stocked store. What truly sets Slow Play Rv Park apart is its location. Situated in a picturesque setting, surrounded by nature and scenic views, the park provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed taking walks around the park, my children and I also enjoyed the swig which was its own relaxing escape, made to view Ruidoso s beautiful scenery.Furthermore, the management and staff at Slow Play RV Park were attentive and responsive during my stay. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and satisfied as they do with all guest. The level of customer service provided was truly exceptional.Overall, my experience at Slow Play RV Park was nothing short of excellent. The combination of a well-maintained park, top-notch amenities, and attentive staff always makes for a memorable stay. I highly recommend Slow Play RV Park to anyone looking for a delightful RV park experience in Ruidoso.

This was our first time at this park. We have 3 dogs so we look for a park that has a place to exercise the dogs. Although there is not a dog park here, there is a dog walk. We did an online reservation so we didn't know what the space would look like. Turns out, I don't think there is a bad space in the place! Very quiet park. Showers/restrooms are very clean even though we never needed to use them. Brandi, Ron & Joe will help with anything you need. Ron or Joe will lead you to your space on arrival. We came on Labor Day and are leaving tomorrow. We enjoyed the bingo on Monday, but we missed the Texas Hold 'Em on Tuesday. We will definitely come back, hopefully sooner than later.Nearby activities: Ruidoso is chocked full of stuff to do.Safety: We felt safe here.Walkability: The park is large and you can really get your walking exercise if you want.

Slow Play RV Park is a lovely, reasonably priced RV Park conveniently located in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico, just a short drive into Ruidoso and very close to a Walmart!!!The park is quiet and well maintained with spacious sites and lots of trees. The staff has been very nice, friendly and accommodating during our visit. The laundry room and bathroom are clean and tidy.We checked in the first part of September and plan to stay three weeks. We will definitely be returning.

Wow! What a great place to stay. We arrived Friday afternoon and we were escorted to our site by Ron. We felt right at home and met some hard working folks. Cassidy and Donna worked to make our weekend special! The staff was friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Our space was clean and the RV park was very well maintained. We will make this a regular vacation spot!

New owners since the last time we stayed. I was a little worried after some of the negative reviews I've read but I don't know what they were talking about. Everyone here, from the front desk, to maintenance, was still super nice and helpful. The park is kept up very well. Clean bathrooms, and yards. Plenty of room to take a walk, or bike ride. Dog friendly as well! Great place to stay when visiting town.

We were in a 36ft motorhome, and our partners were in a 42ft fifth wheel. We found the park easy to enter and the staff were so friendly and helpful.!! They escorted us to our sites, 92 & 90, to make sure they were a good fit for our rigs. The sites were spacious and most have a tree or 2. We did have to unhook our tow but plenty of room to park it next to our RV. The park doesn't have a lot of frills, bust is very clean and well kept and quiet. Loved our location in the park as we had views of the undeveloped land to the the west and south and hill tops. We asked to extend our stay an additional day due to dangerously high wind warnings for high profile vehicles on our route home. They said that because it was a weather advisory not to travel in the area they wouldn't charge us for the additional day! That's just amazing...we've never had anyone do that for us before.!! We'll certainly stay here again.

The people here are incredibly friendly and helpful! The park is kept spotless. The bathrooms are sparkling clean and the showers are hot and clean. The park is tucked up on a hill and no road noise. I will definitely be back! Absolutely loved Slow Play!Nearby activities: Not far to the racetrack, downtown, Lincoln or Fort Stanton.

The park is well within the target area where it is located. It is a great park within the area. It is not an RV Resort but is a very comfortable park and has easy access and egress. The park is on the side of a hill, but the sites are level with a very comfortable distance between units. I can comfortably recommend this RV park for an overnight stop or a vacation in the beautiful area it is in. If I am in the area again, I will try and stay there again.

First of all the staff, Cassidy, Brandy, Donna, Ron and Joe are the best!! Do the best job of running an RV park from a business standpoint. They are the nicest, friendliest, most helpful people. If you worry about maneuvering into your site, Joe or Ron are really good at helping you put your rig in just the right position. The park is close to Walmart, the racetrack and just the right distance to downtown Ruidoso. It s also handy to all of the area attractions.

Stayed here for three days the staff was excellent and very accommodating and helpful. The pavilion that they provided for our camping group was excellent had a full kitchen that we were allowed to use and it was wonderful and set up nice. The only downside was that they did not have a dog area but they are working on that and the sites are very small if you like your neighbor it was fine if you didn t know them or didn t like him you were too close.

Every review I write starts with 5 stars. Slow Play RV Park earned all of them. Yeah, the prices are a little high but it is a well run and well maintained park. The people are nice, the sites are fairly level, and the bathrooms are spotless. Most of the sites appear to be buddy sites (awning to awning) but unless it is crowded, they just park one unit per buddy space. There is a separate section for long term residents. Most parks with long term residents seem to degrade the parks but the Slow Play ones are well maintained and the residents are the best. If I visit Ruidoso again, I'll stay here.

This is a beautiful RV park with excellent service, we especially thought very highly of Joe who led us to our site. Joe took special care to share important information regarding the area in general. We very much enjoyed the view from our site and all other aspects of Slow Play RV Park. Thank you for a great visit and for taking such good care of us including extending our stay! We definitely hope to return here again in the future.

I just do not understand the good reviews on this place. Maybe in the day it was great, but now it s nothing but an old and run down RV park, in need of desperate upgrades!!! The sites r tighter than a skin on a weenie! It s ridiculously when u can t even put ur awning out! I will say the staff were great and super friendly and it s fairly convenient, but we will never stay here again. There r other better parks in the area, one being Bonito Hollow. Roomy and set in the mountains.

PLEASE STAY AWAY, totally bad experience last two times arriving at this RV park! First time my son and I were greeted by office clerk with the most disgusting attitude. I don t think I have ever felt so discriminated and degraded ever, we turned around and left and were then greeted by park staffed that apologize and said that was her last week to come back! Like really?3 months later I decided to give them a try, my second mistake. My son and I drove in only to be greeted by park lady yelling and hollowing on how it s a safety issue to allow us to park our RV and that we needed to leave. The lady than stated that we needed to hurry and leave and that she would wait until we left. So we basically got escorted off the premises. I will never ever go back nor would have ever given the one star for this review as I had to give the star to place this review.Signed discrimination

Nice big spaces with lots of grass and trees. Everyone is incredibly friendly and kind and they have fun activities for travelers of all ages throughout the week. Also, a great place for kids to ride bikes and play. Very safe and we will definitely be back!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!I have family that visits that area a few times a year. They recently found it more cost effective to buy and travel with an RV. Thinking it might even be more pleasurable. However, this particular park has put a terrible taste in their mouth, so to speak, for that life style now.In March, they invited me to go along on their first adventure since i use to be an avid RV camper. I decided it might be fun to go along so I did.Let me tell you! I was so embarrassed by your parks behavior that I kept apologizing for you!I was a little shocked that we were forced into finding our own space and parking ourselves to begin with but no one was in the office. Then the next day when we were not found and greeted by anyone, I figured I'd make my way to the office since we needed supplies anyway. Still, the office was locked down with no one in site. Now later on, I did witness a woman (I'm assuming to be the Mgr or Owner) screaming at an elderly man. Then a Police Officer that seem to come out of no where to yell at the elderly man also! The poor man was just standing there looking appalled! I waited patiently until they were done so that I could speak to them but was shunned and ignored!Sooooo, by talking to some of the park neighbors, that was the park Mgr and her husband. They said her name was Lori and that the behavior I witnessed was normal around there for her when she could be found and that since she had taken over the park, the office never gets opened! That was the ONE & ONLY time I seen her and they were right! I never witnessed the office opened the whole time I was there! We will NEVER make the mistake of visiting this establishment again as long as they continue to have people like that working there!

My first experience at an RV park and it was a good one! The overall appearance is one of order and cleanliness. The public toilets/showers are spotless! The owners, Jennifer and Scott, are attentive, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and go out of their way to be accommodating. My brief, weekend stay was most pleasant; had a lovely view of the mountains and the sunsets! Sorry! Didn't take pix out of concern for others' privacy.

We stayed here for three nights and loved it! Very clean and quiet, staff is very helpful and spaces were not tight like some parks. We were in a 40ft motorhome towing a truck and had no issues. Would definitely stay here again.

Date: Early April 2021.The folks who run/own this RV Park are very nice. They took us to the campsite and helped align us. This is a nice touch, not done enough, IMO.The RV Park itself was real nice. Lots of tall tree with plenty of clearance & offering lots of shade. Our spot had a natural sloped, but each site is leveled off. This creates nice 'distance' between you and your neighborOur spot:Had a nice picnic tables & plenty of shade, pine needlesThe RV spot was level & stoneHooks ups were easily accessible / well maintainedThe Internet was StrongWe stayed 3 nights, and will be back for sure.

I really wish I could have given this place 5 stars, the owners are great and very helpful. They honestly would be the only reason we would return! Spaces are way too close together, and trees need trimmed and more added. The worst part was the camper directly behind us, he had no respect for fellow campers! Quiet time is suppose to start at 10 pm, but he didn't quiet down until 1 am every night we were there. All other neighbors respected other campers. Again, I'll say that the new owner's are amazing, but maybe should enforce a few rules. Thank you Scott and your wife for having great personalities!!!

Super nice hosts! I believe they will improve the facilities as time goes on. Nice size spots, clean bathrooms and a decent coffee bar. I never found the dog park or the lounge, the entertainment room needs updated. All that said, I would return! :)
