Knowledgeable, friendly, competent shop. They have done plenty of repairs for me, and I never had a problem. I saw a one or two reviews complain of long waits, but good mechanics stay busy and have other cars lined up for repairs--so it's always a good idea to ask when they can actually begin and complete the work. On the flip side, one reviewer was grateful that they got squeezed in quickly because they were passing through town were stranded by car trouble. Sounds like a good balance to me.

Im reluctant to do this but I feel like I could help some people when looking for a mechanic.I took my BMW to Hicks Automotive in Roswell, NM on Feb. 1st. I was promised that they had experts that know how to diagnose and fix foreign vehicles. I was charged $1,297.47 to basically replace a bunch of hoses that did not need to be replaced. The receptionist made many mistakes and gave me the run around for 5 weeks. First excuse was that "she ordered the wrong parts." A few days later, "the mechanics ordered the wrong parts." Then a few days after that, "we have 5 different BMW's in the shop and she got confused which vehicle was mine and once again ordered the wrong parts." Finally after weeks of keeping my vehicle and me having to rent a car (all on my own expense) they said my car was ready. But, I received my car in worse shape and still need to get the leak repaired.I am not writing this review out of anger, I was respectful to the receptionist and staff throughout the entire process and only stated my concern after each excuse. Most of the frustration came only after having to borrow vehicles from family members and eventually having to rent a car. If this review can help save someone else the headache or even help Hicks Automotive tighten up their procedures, then i'll be happy. But a part of me feels it was their intention to repair what they want and over charge for their services.Im sure I am not the only one that has had to deal with the horrible customer service this shop has produced but I did my part and I paid over a thousand dollars in repairs. They should have done their part and completed the work that was agreed upon.

I came in town late on a Thursday. Thursday evening my AC went out. I had my car at Hick s around 9:30am on Friday. When the guys at Hick s heard I had to be back in Florida Sunday they jumped on the repair and I left before 1:00 with my car running great! Came in for rear main seal leak found out it was the oil cooler they fixed it and my vehicle runs like a champ price was alot cheaper then quoted so very pleased saved me over 600.00 compared to competitors pricing

The lady at the front desk was super kind. My bf and I were on a road trip and my CEL came on. They said it would be a week of waiting but then we explained we had to get back on the road and asked if they any recommendations for a place that could service a little faster. They understood we were from here and fixed it within 45 minutes. Only $90 for an air filter problem. Super kind people, gave us lunch recommendations, the mechanic explained thoroughly and also printed out a sheet of all the codes and explained what they were.

They will pick you up and drop you off.They will store your vehicle, safely, until you get back for it, for free.They ONLY use top quality parts, never knock offs.They WILL stand by their work.They will treat you with kindness and honest empathy.All of this is why..They are #1 in my, highly qualified, opinion!

Hicks was the only place that could get us in on short notice to replace our high pressure power steering line. They were friendly, efficient fast and rationally priced. Efficient, professional, friendly mechanics and staff. This is the second time they have repaired my car. I will probably be visiting them again soon. I highly recommend them, their prices are reasonable (remember: auto repair ain't cheap), their service is top-notch. I haven't used their towing service, but I would think that it would be excellent as well.

Cant say enough good about this family of professionals! Our truck lost the thermostat passing through town. We were recommended to go Hicks Automotive. Great decision. They stayed past closing to evaluate the truck and order parts. They had us fixed up and back on the road as quick as it could be done. They even worked the parts needed through the local dealership to cover them under warranty. The price they charged was beyond reasonable. If we lived here, this is the only shop that I would take my vehicles!

I honestly can't speak to the quality of their work. I wish that I could. I made an appointment a week in advance to have them install new shocks, pads & rotors, look for my mystery gear oil leak while it was in the air, and give me an estimate to repair that leak while also installing a new clutch for me at a later date. I used to manage a busy shop before I changed professions, and I see that as a relatively simple request, especially since they didn't have to source the parts. I had the pads, rotors, front strut assemblies & rear shocks, and necessary hardware ready for them, the vehicle was delivered the afternoon prior to the day of the appointment with the parts laid out for them in the back. No one touched my vehicle on the day of the appointment.I hadn't heard anything, so I went by toward the end of the day, and saw it was still parked in the same place. I went in to see if anything at all had been done to it, because I needed it back. The representative I spoke to seemed surprised that I expected a professional shop to be able to accomplish a brake job and install shocks in one day...when they told me the day to bring it in to have it done. If it's their standard procedure to have a vehicle sit for a day or two, I suppose that a more than one day timeline for brakes & shocks is feasible. I could do it in 3.5 to 4 hours in my driveway if I didn't want another nasty note from my neighborhood about violating rules by doing auto repair, and wanted to roll around on a hot driveway. But I guess it did work out. If it takes them longer than a day to do that job & write me an estimate, I sure wouldn't want to pay that labor bill. I'm also relatively sure I can find multiple other places who will be more than happy to do both jobs for me in a timely manner. I only had to rearrange a day, lost my vehicle for 24 hours, and lost a few hours of my time. They lost my current and all future business.

Really awesome place to get auto repairs. Fair priced! Work done is outstanding with really great people! GE the mechanic also has parts, offers towing and is the best mechanic I've ever went to. I truly do recommend this place. Reliable and friendly staff!

I stopped in and randomly asked if I could walk the property and possibly take some pictures just for some editing experience on my own. Though I'm not a car enthusiast I could definitely tell if somebody were looking for the right pieces and parts that may be hard to find, this is definitely the place to be. I had more fun just walking around and looking at the cars than I truly anticipated.

Hicks Automotive is a great family operated business where they put the customer first. Mr. Hicks treated me as family and was dedicated to finding and fixing my issue with my truck. The owner and staff treat you with respect.I highly recommend them for all your automotive needs.

Traveling back to Pennsylvania we developed bearing troubles. The fellas got on the car immediately. Rebecca took us to our hotel and for breakfast. Repairs were quick and we were not price gouged. Thank you.Honest shop.

HHH: Honesty, hard work & humbleness -- you'll get all three at the family-run Hicks Automotive, where my '90 Ford Ranger was recommended to be fixed by the kind sir at Revelations Towing. G.E. and his staff got me back on the road in about two days, following an issue with my transmission. Bonus: His office assistant was even kind enough to give me a couple rides downtown, while I was waiting to get back going to the West Coast.

Place is hard to find also vehicle we picked up was very far had to walk almost a mile other than that it was okay
