We have been doing business with Universal Transmissions for years. They have always been honest and helpful in answering any questions we may have had. Today I called Linda and asked her for help with our sons car, which is in Arizona. Knowing that their business was not going to get any compensation, she still went above and beyond in offering her help showing us what direction we should take. I want to say thank you so very much, for your help!

Do you want the truth about your Transmission - or another ignorant clot trying to sell you on fantasy?The staff at Universal are well trained, understanding and you get an estimate and findings, in writing, at the end of their investigation that will satisfy this old lady or a master degree wheelhead. I think they are a great place to do business with.

August 7th my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee was towed to the lot per scheduled appointment with Universal transmission for a 42RE transmission rebuild. For one month I did not hear anything from this place. They had my number and my wife's telephone number on file. They also had my email address for which they emailed the quote for transmission rebuild. Approximately one month later my wife called to check on the vehicle since we had not heard anything. Apparently the mechanic there decided it was not worth it to work on the vehicle. The vehicle has a known exhaust leak(I was planned on fixing that after the transmission was fixed). Also the mechanic stated he could not shift the 4wd correctly( recently put a 242 transfer case in). All that was needed was the shift guide from the 242 which was sitting the passenger seat. The place also told my wife the differentials were not spinning, however this was not the case after towing home. I know this vehicle had some issues, however, all I wanted was the transmission pulled and rebuilt. They came highly recommended to me, but the lack of work and communication was piss poor. I would never take a vehicle there again. The price was much higher that all the other places I checked with, but I heard there quality was high. Well apparently not! I am out the cost of the tow to the shop and back, which is annoying.

Universal Transmission came highly recommended to me and I want to highly recommend them to you (and for good reason)! I bought a 2018 Chevy Malibu almost a year ago. It has given me so many issues since I ve purchased it and recently started to give me transmission issues. I took it here to get the transmission serviced and was pleasantly surprised with how well the customer service was. Linda at Universal Transmission explained everything to me so I actually understood what was going on with my vehicle as well as what steps were being taken to fix my vehicle. I was very impressed with her knowledge of transmissions and cars in general. The staff and mechanics at Universal Transmission were thorough in the diagnosis of my vehicle. Linda and her team even found other issues with my vehicle. She took initiative to call the Chevrolet dealership and found out that one of the other codes that was popping up fell under a certain recall that was free of charge to fix. She explained once I picked up my vehicle I needed to take it there ASAP to get the open recall completed. The communication between us was excellent and in my opinion, the most important part. Not only did she communicate with me every step of the way, she was very fair in her pricing and cared about my vehicle as if it were her own. I like that. My vehicle was diagnosed and serviced expeditiously. Once my vehicle was returned to me, I took it to Chevrolet and they told me the recall was closed and I would have to pay out of pocket. I was so upset and was forced to call Linda back on a Friday at 5 pm. Without hesitation she sat on the phone with me for nearly 30 MINUTES assisting me with information that Chevrolet couldn t or maybe didn t want to do for me. Linda ultimately helped me save money, fix my car, and I am forever grateful. She is absolutely amazing! This is an impressive family run business that has a truly remarkable facility for delivering quality transmission work for the past twenty years. The work area is bright, airy and clean and you can tell they are diligent when working on your car.

Amazing group from office to shop. They give me 110% to fix a problem on my Jeep that I have had for years and had multiple shops look at and this crew went above and beyond and I haven't been this satisfied with my Jeep in years.

I was only here to drop off my friends truck to troubleshoot a transmission problem. The truck is a diesel and had a starting problem, too. I explained it to the staff, and they took a video of how to get the truck started! They had no problem with doing this.They did find the problem, and the truck needed a new transmission. The transmission had been replaced in the previous 18 months and purchased from a national supplier. That transmission had a 3 year/36 month warranty. But the national supplier has been bought out by another national chain. This looked bad for my friends truck and my friends' finances!However, Universal contacted the new national chain and got them to agree to warrant the transmission!Way to go, Universal transmission! A+++!!!

If you want honest, you have found the right place. Family owned businesses are always the best in my experiences. They were fast and explained very well what was happening with my car. I found them on Facebook because everyone recommended them hands down and now I do too.

I loved the service and honesty provided. They did an awesome job and will continue to go there for future work. I drove all the from the east mountains just to have them work on my car and it was worth it. Good loyal car place. Highly recommended!!!

They were very polite, knowledgeable, honest, and extremely fair. They even went the extra mile to ensure that everything else was looking alright in my car before I head out on a long trip. I don't think I've ever had such a good mechanical experience as I did with them. They were awesome! Highly recommend this business!

I highly recommend universal transmission. I took my pickup there June of 2020 because it was only driving in 2nd gear. They looked at it and quoted me based on what they could see, and that there were two options and the price was depending on what they saw when they got inside. They communicated well, explain everything well and do quality work. My truck shifts like it's brand new even 8 months later. Will be taking all my vehicles here.Service: Transmission

Kevin is cool. He took me around the block and consulted my issue and shot me straight on my options. He explained the work that needed to be done. And while he could do the work, he couldn't start on it for some time, because he was already slammed with work. So he even recommended another shop, since what I wanted was performance upgrades more than repair. He took his time with me and did not take advantage of me. I appreciate that.

Been dealing with universal transmission shop for twenty five years.Wouldn't go anywhere else I have been treated with the upmost respect. They do great work at reasonable prices.They are honest.To me this is important; this is all one can ask for.If I need to get work done they get me in as soon as possible.I highly recommend them.give them a try if you need their service.Located on northern blvd

Had just bought a new-to-me car and the transmission went out. Took it to Universal and they fixed it up right. Prices stink but that's the same everywhere. The service was awesome though. Friendly and stayed in touch through the process. Highly recommend!

Great shop with great staff! I had to take my truck here after another shop had messed up and couldn t fix their mistake. They kept in touch throughout whole process. They had my truck fixed and back to me in 7 days!! Highly recommend this shop.

I took my truck in to get diagnosed and they did do a diagnostic on my truck they told me the truck would need a transmission rebuild so I paid them the diagnostic fee. And decided to get a second opinion when I can for my truck we had to pull the truck. One of the workers there came out and said we need to move our truck now that they have a paying customer waiting for us to move ok so what was I?? I paid the price you told me it would cost I didn t ask for a discount or anything rude people. To top it all off I took my truck to the dealership after the dealership did there diagnostic it turned out to just be a solenoid on the transmission. From universal transmissions price of 4900 some where around there to the dealership out the door cost of 586.87. I would never recommend this place to anyone as they treated us horrible with their customer service skills and didn t diagnostic it correctly. Seemed like they were trying to scam us.

My over all experience was fantastic! I had to get a few things done, and amber was fantastic in getting everything set up and was amazing in staying in touch with me in regards to the service and was very professional about it! I would definitely recommend Universal Transmission!
